I have visited several BBQ places and this establishment has my business. I order the ribs and brisket (can't comment on other meets). The taste of BBQ is true, not mascaraed by other flavors. The ribs are extremely tender. They have 2 BBQ sauces, one a little hotter that the other but not overwhelming. The portions are generous with their french fries being different and tasty (i think they use pepper on them). I really enjoy their coleslaw and they are average in price. A 1 meet w/frys should be enough for and adult. The establishment is maintained clean and staff is friendly and accommodating. Always on the search for great BBQ, an aquaintance suggested I try Texlahoma. As he was explaining where it was, I came to the realization that I had eaten in this restaurant and wasn't that impressed. He persisted and told me it's a whole new place, new owners etc. I still really wasn't sold on good BBQ coming from this silly strip mall location. Fast forward a couple weeks and I found myself stopped at the stop sign right in front of the building. And it was lunch time. Well, it's a no-brainer, I had to try Texlahoma. The place looks similar to the last place inside and I wasn't really impressed. Very plain, non-descript atmosphere and I wasn't feeling too encouraged. I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries and a drink for around $10. It seemed a bit high but we are talking BBQ. Well let me tell you, looking at this thing, I instantly thought things may be looking up. It was huge. And looked so good. The brisket was piled high on a great looking bun. The fries were fresh and hot. I tried the regular and hot versions of the sauce and went at it. DELICIOUS! Easily the best brisket sandwich I've had in Oklahoma. And the bun was so good compared to the white bread BBQ places normally serve. It was great because rarely do you find a bun that will hold up to brisket and sauce and still be hold up so you can eat like a sandwich. I know I'm not one to rave about sides or a bun, but I'm telling you it made a difference. So much more enjoyable to be able to enjoy the brisket, sauce and bun at the same time without a complete mess. Well done. I'm giving 4 stars not 5 simply because the atmosphere and the location are just ordinary. I think with some time under their belt, things will improve. The food is a 5/5. At least what I had. It was so good, after I left and got in the car, I had to get back out of the car and go back in to order a sandwich to go. I'm not ready to claim the brisket is as good as my favorite two places ( one in KC the other in Kansas) but it won't take but maybe another successful visit or two for me to put them in the same category as my favorites. I was really hoping for better I had the chopped brisket sandwich combo with beans. I found the sandwich greasy compared to others I have had however I will say it was a very generous portion. It was our first time there and it was a birthday dinner. I'll first say the food was very good but the problem was our order was all messed up. We asked for eat in and had all food boxed up. My order was missing a sausage link, bread, pickles, onions. My husband's order was Got baked beans instead of green beans, My son's order was missing coleslaw, a sausage link, bread, pickles, onions. And maybe there wasn't anything that could have been done about the flies but I had to fan our table pretty much the whole time. A friend recommended this spot and I'm always excited to try new bbq places. It's a small-ish restaurant in a store front. You order at a window and pick up your food at another window when they call your name. You get your own drink, utensils, etc. I appreciate the fast casual setup. I got the rib dinner, which included a generous portion of delicious fried okra, excellent potato salad (mayo and mustard mix), but only four small ribs. The ribs were meaty, well seasoned, and sufficiently tender, but still a small portion. The dinner with a bottle of water (apparently tap water isn't an option) was just over $12. Very clean and friendly bbq spot. Parking was easy. Brisket nachos with white queso and fresh sliced jalapeños really hit the spot! The rib dinner came with 4 big ribs and were subsequently devoured. We wanted to find something new for lunch today. We searched Yelp and found Texlahoma BBQ. It was a great experience. Sliced brisket was perfectly warm, great smoke ring, and great (spicy) flavor. Ranch style beans were sweeter than I expected, but a real treat. Turkey sandwich was exceptional (we ordered a pound of turkey to go). Fried okra tasted like it had just been cooked (warm, fresh, and just the right amount of "crisp"). The staff was friendly, helpful, and engaging. Great find! read more

All I have to say is, WOW! How is it that I am just now discovering Texlahoma BBQ?! If you haven't eaten here I highly recommend it. My husband ordered the slab of ribs and fried okra and we ate it all. I'm not even ashamed to admit it. Then, the next day, which happened to be Independence Day, we ate here again and got fries this time. Once again we ate it all. I really want to try the brisket but they were completely sold out on July 4th, which means it must super delicious! In addition to pork ribs they have beef ribs on the weekend and it's a goal of ours to try it. My husband and I talked and we both agreed it's the best ribs we have ever eaten. We have been getting our food to go so I can't comment on the service but for a place this popular, you know service is top notch. Going here is like going on an adventure. It is a drive away but it's so worth it! The drive just makes the food tastier in my opinion. I'm already looking forward to eating here again and I know exactly what I'm going to order! I really want to love this place but can't. The meat and okra are good but don't care for the ranch style beans (you need sweet baked beans with BBQ!) or the odd potato salad. Also, every single time we've ordered to go there is something missing. Last time it was the BBQ, time before a large side of okra. Very surprised to find out this little spot was close to my house. My review is based on a single meal so take that with a grain of salt. Texlahoma is a hidden gem! A small restaurant in the middle of a strip mall north of Edmond. The BBQ is second to none and the staff is friendly and helpful.
