Kay's so good my nails last for 3-4 weeks! But today, a tech named Julie gave me a show. Her romper was so short that her cheeks were hanging out. She was standing behind my tech, bent over and wow! Then she went to do a pedicure, bent over to get needed supplies and well, it's just gross. It's so unprofessional and not what I'm used to experiencing here. I've never paid so much for a gel pedicure, let alone the worst one I've ever had - one that I had to immediately go home and fix. When one part of a pedicure goes poorly, it's very much forgivable. A bad polish. A nicked cuticle. Etc. But when all of it happens, you leave upset that you spent your very limited alone time there. I've never had a pedicure where I had to ask for the nails to be corrected to be straight instead of crooked. I've never had a nail tech completely miss a nail entirely. I've never had a nail tech not clean under the nails. Or not trim the corners. I've never had my gel polish lift after less than 24 hours. I know some people go get their nails done to socialize, but some of us go because we are busy moms who need 45 minutes of indulgence and peace-- you won't find that here. It was high energy, a lot of loud chatter, and the movie Hustlers. If it wasn't the most expensive pedicure I've ever had, I think I'd be a little more forgiving. But I wasted my time, and my money. If you have new techs learning, that's fine. But don't charge $75 then pressure to tip. Luckily I was able to even things out at home myself, but what a disappointment :( Won't be back, unfortunately. With their customer service and hustle, I really wish I could support their business.

Some are just not friendly, ridiculously overpriced or the vibe is just off. For that reason I have been putting off doing my nails for months while trying to do them myself but it honestly is just not the same. J nails is located in the town center next to the UPS store & it is actually a big salon suite, meaning when you walk in there are other independent salon owners in there so I had to ask someone if they knew "J nails" and I was pointed to the right direction. Here I am thinking I was going to be able to walk into a salon and possibly do a "walk in" appt but it is actually just Jolyn here in her private nail studio. Luckily, she was finishing up a client and said she can take me after. Very sweet & a true nail artist. I love the private vibes in here. I am pretty picky about my nails and let me tell you... I am so happy & lucky to have found her! Her work speaks for itself, beautifully crafted & she gives amazing hand massages. If you try to call & you don't get an answer, keep in mind she is her own boss so might be busy with a client, send her a text with the service you're interested in and availability.
