My ear was sliced, my stylist Sonja didn't know how to dress a wound properly and couldn't find the Styptic Powder to stop the bleeding, and no one checked on me to see if I was ok. My stylist said she would offer me "perc's" (percosets) if she had one (felony distribution). My stylist also referred to the product used on my hair as a "panty dropper" and stated that her lesbian family member calls it that. It was horrific. read more

I never really enjoyed Salon Teze over the five years and three locations I visited. I had followed my stylist there and followed her when she left. The salon is too pretentious - going for a club effect. I wanted to relax. When I was the only client in the place, I'd ask for the music to be changed or at least turned down. I was told by the owner that no one else complained so it would stay as is. The prices are too high and the stylists are not paid enough given the prices - that is unfair and taking advantage of young stylists trying to make ends meet. The salon is stiff, cold, and uncomfortable. I was happy to leave when my stylist left. read more

So the other day i went in for a balayage which Miranda told me was going to cost me $140. (I made sure to ask when i called to make my appointment before i actually booked it) On the day of my appointment, i arrived early, was offered green tea, and was told CJ would be right with me. About 15 min later, Aimee comes and greets me instead. She was very sweet and i proceed to show her a pic of what i wanted done (balayage). She then asks if i want a TRIM, i told her no, but she insisted bc my ends were damaged, so i give in and tell her ok. She did an absolutely AMAZING job on my hair, was very professional, talked me thru the steps and everything. When i go to check out tho is where my pleasant visit here at Teze salon goes south. The receptionist tells me my hair looks amazing (which it absolutely does) and then tells me my total was $217!!!!!!! I thought i lost my hearing for a second, so i asked her to repeat that price & again she said $217!! I asked why it was so much when i was told i was going to be paying $140 and she said "bc you got a hair cut too" to which i replied "AND HOW MUCH WAS THAT?" she said (as she checked her little chart behind her counter) "oh Aimee's price for a hair cut is $40" and I tell her "I was told this appointment was going to cost me $140, plus this extra $40 for a hair cut, how do you get $217?? Turns out a balayage by Aimee is NOT $140 but $170 Obviously i paid the bill bc i would never just walk out BUT GOOODNESSSSS GRACIOUSSSS!!! Someone at the salon could have at least TOLD ME BEFORE HAND i was going to have to pay way more than i was told!! I MEAN CHRISTMAS IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER AND I STILL HAVE SHOPPING TO DO AND NOW IM ASSED OUT $100!! No shade to Aimee, but you guys REALLLLY should let clients know that they are going to be paying extra if they're getting their hair done by different level stylists than what they were told!! This place feels industrial, cold and unfriendly. The decor is dark with little style and not welcoming. Everything is very high priced! My stylist was new and when she asked for help with the color I wanted she was advised wrong. Even though we showed pictures. The color came out wrong and not what I wanted at all. I went back got it fixed and still was not excited. I spent a lot of money and left unhappy. Seriously don't waste your time. Check out The Salon and lash lounge that is just a mile away!!! I was going to Teze for a year, having foils done by Jenny. I've been getting foils for 30 years, nothing new. For some reason, my hair was not coming out as light as it had in the past. Her explanation was always, "It's a process, it will be lighter next time" or "You waited too long between foils". The longest I went was 4 months. At my last visit, I asked her for a full foil, and she said she would put some foils underneath for when I pull my hair up. She did not, and my hair was STILL not as light as I wanted it. When I complained, and came back for her to fix it, she tried to charge me more money! After spending over $1200 in the last year, and never being happy with my results, I decided to go to Gene Juarez. One visit, less expensive, and I LOVE my hair again! It came out as light as I wanted it, in ONE VISIT!! I wish I hadn't wasted all of that time and money. I do not recommend this salon. read more

The salon was very welcoming, the staff courteous, and they had a great variety of products, However; I went in for a trim and slight alter to hairstyle/add texture, and left with what is my least favorite haircut ever. I showed the stylist a picture of what I was going for, a longer style, and what I got was about 4 inches taken off and the furthest from what I showed or ever wanted. I have never left a barber with a cut I like and usually grow it out, but I was hoping a salon might be different. Now, the stylist was very nice, and while I do have gripes with the cut, I don't wish to throw them under the bus. They did great prep work and were very courteous. After the haircut, I didn't realize how much I hated it until I got home and looked in the mirror. I threw on a hat and immediately drove back to ask about a refund, so I wouldn't have to live life knowing I paid $40 plus tip for the indignity atop my head. I didn't even want a whole refund, just the base cost of the cut. I was met with who I was told was a Co-Owner. I was told all they could do was try and touch it up. We'll about 80% of my hair is gone, so I wasn't too ecstatic for a touch up. In fact, I'm going to learn how to easily trim my own hair, so I never have to deal with this again. It can't be worse than what I got. After feeling like a refund was being held hostage, I then detailed the objective and vast differences between what I wanted/showed and received, and the importance of this specific haircut to me. I was met with indignance and laughter and guided to the front, where she instructed the receptionist to "just give 'em the refund". While my experience may be different than yours, and I don't think this is indicative of the entire business, I felt compelled to share my experience, in case in helps others make an informed decision. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Do not book with Amanda!! I made an appointment at Teze after I seen all the positive reviews. First of all , I was told a price over the phone, then after getting a cut and highlight I was charged wayyyy more!!!! $375 for a cut and couple highlights on pixie length hair is CRAZY expensive!!!! I had shoulder length hair and wanted a longer bob/pixie. I called and asked to book an appointment with a stylist that has expertise in pixie/ Bob's. I was booked with Amanda. Amanda was nice and I felt pampered. But my highlights looked like tiger stripes!!! Bleach blonde tiger stripes on dark brown hair!!!!! I was the poster child for the 2000's!! Then the cut!!!‍I showed her a picture of what I wanted. She butchered my hair! It looks NOTHING like the picture I showed her! There are so many blunt cuts EVERYWHERE!!! It looks like I cut my hair with my eyes closed. I went back in to get it fixed 2 days later and my experience was awful. I had to have Amanda fix it.( which I didn't want!) I had 0 to no attention from her. She left me in the shampoo station waiting for 45 minutes!!!! Let me say that again LEFT ME head hanging in sink for 45 minutes!!!!!!!! The color came out like an UGLY bronze!!! I absolutely hated it. Then she seen her AWFUL cut and tried to fix it. ( it looks even worse). I waited as long as I could, but a week later I went to target spent $10 dollars on hair dye, went home and fixed the disgusting color I was given. Over all I had a god awful experience here and will NEVER EVER go back!! I DO NOT recommend going here, and have warned my friends and family by showing them the outcome. read more

Gina has been doing my hair for years now. She is hands down THE best stylist. Gina is the type of stylist who you can show a couple of pictures to and she creates something perfect that is unique to you. And her head massages at the shampoo bowl?! Out of this world! She truly has a unique passion for what she does. She is constantly learning and continuing her education within the beauty community. The salon itself is gorgeous. Most of the stylists are great and happy to help make people look gorgeous. Then you meet the senior stylist Kensie who seems to run the floor. In the two visits I have had I have watched her publicly reprimand and berate four stylists. There does not seem to be a manager in place and this individual seems to run the show by creating drama and belittling. For what appears to be an upscale salon she is commanding it like a drill sergeant making not only the clients feel uncomfortable but also the employees. I for one will not be coming back. If the owners were truly involved with this business they would step in and bring her under control. I took my daughters to get haircuts/styled. My daughters had Katie and Erin. Both were very talented and very friendly. Both my daughters left happy and satisfied. We have had some very crazy (not good) experiences with other salon/stylists. I appreciated that Katie and Erin really listened and were patient with my daughters and I. Before my color and cut the stylist asked me if there was anything that I definitly did not like or want done to my hair. The only thing I told her was that I did not want my bangs cut too short. She colored my root and did a good job with that. Then she cut my hair and guess what she cut my bangs way too short. Not happy. I get home and the cut was way too uneven around the face. One side was longer than the other. I just think she hurried through the cut. read more

I am so devastated. I just relocated and waited 7 months to get my hair colored. I'm really beyond words. I asked for an ombré (which my hair already was just grown out 7 months) and color all over the top. She turned my hair penny copper red colored and he only ombré is what was left over from my awesome last stylist. Not to mention I asked her to take 4-5 inches. I got 12 taken off in some areas. My hair was very very long and now some of the layers don't even touch my shoulders. I spent a lot of time showing her photos of MY hair and how it normally is. Not some pipe dream "make me look like Jennifer Anniston" hair --- mine. And it's crazy crazy how completely off it is. I didn't even realize how bad it was because of the lighting being horrible there until I got home, saw it and started crying. When your hair is really longer, and someone damages it to the roots, you can't describe how unbelievably deflated you feel. I waited 7 months because I was terrified of someone doing exactly what happened. I will never go back. Not to mention, it was dirty. Eryn is the best!!! I have been seeing her for over 8 yrs., and every time I come to Puyallup ( I live in Los Angeles) I ALWAYS make sure to get an appt. with her. Ever since I took my color into my own hands and had to have her do major repair she has been the only stylist I see if I can help it. She is always extremely courteous and professional when she does my hair, and listens intently to what I want. I use to come to this salon for lash extensions and the occasional haircut. The lady did a good job on my lashes. My friend was never really satisfied with hers. The haircuts were a hit or miss. The main reason why I would not go back was after I had a stylist that did not know how to do what I wanted and there was a lead stylist reviewing her. After some discussion I told the stylist that I will go somewhere else. The head lady convinced me to stay and half way through my cut had to come rescue my hair. The part that turned me off to the salon was when I went to go pay. They tried to charge me more unless I said something which I did. I have not been back. read more

I've been going to her for about 6 years, not once has she ever done anything to my hair that made me not like it. I had gone to this salon 2 times before my most recent visit and thought they did a pretty good job on my hair (hence, why I went back). Last time I went there, I payed 120$ for a foil. My hair was destroyed...completely spotty and orange. I couldn't put my hair back because it looked as though I was wearing a headband. It looked absolutely terrible. When I contacted them about it, they didn't even offer an "I'm sorry". I had to go about 2 months with spotty hair because I couldn't afford to get it done, and they wouldnt return my calls or e-mails. Came into today to get a hair cut for my birthday. My stylist was sonya (sorry if I spelled it wrong) she was super sweet and really friendly. She was really good at making me feel comfortable and knew her products really well. She gave me a hair cut, keratin treatment and put my extensions in for me. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I do not recommend this salon. The lady messed up on my hair bad, I had to go in a few times to fix it. Those few times I went in, I did not get my hair to the way I wanted it. I am beyond annoyed! I was given a price range and I had asked if it would be over 200. If so I need to come back another time because I just wanted ombre in my hair. I understand it expensive to get your hair done, but that is why I had asked. The girl said it would be no problem. She said it would be $150 -$ 175... $250 dollars and burnt hair later I am pissed. She left the bleach in my hair for over 2 hours. She kept saying it's not lifting. She has charged me for two applications of bleach!! FOR 250 DOLLARS? oh hell no.
