I needed a contractor who could problem solve because suddenly a large and growing larger by the day leak had appeared in my split level basement (my house is built on a hill in SF). I was worried because the water was clear but the leak was stinky. I'd worked with Yossi once before. In that case, I had a dry rot problem in my kitchen. Yossi and his team fixed the problem and did a beautiful job. It was time to call Yossi to problem solve for me again. Yossi put me in touch with his son Izik - btw, also a contractor- and Izik coordinated our schedules. As arranged by Izik, Yossi arrived on Monday morning and located the source of the leak. I needed to have my siding replaced, since it was rusted, rotted and coming off my house. I contacted a number of contractors through Yelp over a course of months. A lot of these contractors either had no follow through or were priced way over my budget. Yossi of TGI Builders was very responsive and his pricing was fair and transparent. The initial projection was for a one week job, assuming all materials were available. His crew came daily and started work at 8:30AM and ending at 5:30PM. It is really hard to rate TGI and especially Yossi because he was so good that I am afraid when I rehire him and his amazing team he will be fully booked. Yossi did amazing work and was just a pleasure to work with. I usually don't leave reviews, but am doing so now as it is well deserved. Truthfully Yossi was a "god-send." My fam and I live in a 2nd floor condo. Our guest bathroom tub/shower had started been leaking, floor rotting out and impacted (leaked) on our downstairs neighbor's ceiling. 1st I called a plumber who routed us to a contractor they were familiar with. We had our issues inspected by the contractor and were quoted a large amount of money. I called 3 other contractors, and was quoted more or less in the same neighborhood as the 1st contractor. Then made contact with Yossi, who was attentive/responsive. Yossi quoted us a great rate and took the time to explain what needed to be done. Long story short, Yossi went about the work with a couple of his guys. The attention to detail, the work ethic and "customer service" were all above and beyond. Yossi even took time out of a Saturday morning to shop for tiles with my wife and I. TGI was selected to work on my house's sidings replacement and an exterior paint job. My house is 2 stories. The ground floor had dry rotting on the wooden sidings on mostly one side on the bottom portion. The second side has some minor rotting. The third side has almost no rotting. The fourth side is perfect. I decided to replace all 3 sides ground floor wooden sidings, followed by a complete exterior paint on the entire house. Yossi is the owner of TGI. He came to inspect the house and give an estimate. During the inspection, he had an excellent suggestion. The house has 8 feet panel on top, under it is a 2 feet small panel, then the bottom portion is also another 8 feet panel. Each panel is 3/8" thick. Instead of replacing only the bottom 8 feet panels, he suggested replacing them with thicker 3/4" 10 feet panels. This way, there would be only one seam, instead of two. Also some minor rotting along the window trims required their replacement. TGI did not come in on the low end of the many estimates I got. In fact, it is on the high side. But Yossi and TGI had very good customer reviews. During the house exterior inspection, Yossi appeared to be knowledgeable on the work required. He was also patience to explain the details on the work involved. He appeared to be professional and reasonable. I decided to go with TGI. The initial estimate was for a 3-week job, assuming all materials are available. His crew came daily and started work at 8:30AM and ending at 5PM. They worked even when outside temp was over 100 degrees! A hick-up occurred when the needed 10 feet panel at 3/4" thick was out of stock which necessitate a 9 day delay. Go TGI had to pivot and began doing the prep work for exterior painting on the upper floor and the garage. All said, the job was finished after FIVE works, a bit longer that I expected. During the project, Yossi and his crew were professional. They were not offended by my many questions and suggestions. I appreciated that very much. His crew took extra time to ensure everything is aligned properly and put in extra efforts to smooth out the many rough area on the house during the paint job. The house now looks beautiful. The ground floor new sidings is very strong and sturdy. My wife and I are very pleased with the outcome. These guys from TGI are great! I would hire them again. read more
