after picking Danielle up at the airport last night we stopped for what we thought would be a quick dinner at TGiFriday's last night and were immediately corrected. in hindsight we should have just gone to Applebee's. that said, it wasn't all bad... just mostly. how is this place still open? Tuesday night. dead as can be. half the tables empty and we're told it'll be a 10-15 minute wait. i'm the a**shole who just can't/won't understand this. i used to work in a restaurant. we didn't tell people they had to wait when tables were empty. we just stepped up and worked a little more. but not these days - particularly in slowly failing chain restaurants. so we were eventually seated. had a known that there was some sort of forcefield of "fresh" air in the lobby i might have stayed. as soon as we stepped into the dining room i was immediately hit with the stench of wet egg fart. it was nauseating and i wasn't sure i would be able to eat. (spoiler alert: i did). our server explained that they were running slow due to a call off. whoever called off must have been SuperServer because there was no reason AT ALL to be as slow as they were. there weren't many tables occupied. but while our server was very nice, she was also incredibly slow. in fact, while waiting for our check i went to the bathroom and to wash my hands. when i came back she hadn't been back and had, in fact, bailed to smoke. c'mon. back to the restaurant... if i hadn't already eaten i would have left when i put my arm up on the back of the seat and it was just gross and sticky w/ grease and dirt. our table had chunks of the surface missing. these are all just signs that the restaurant ain't long for this world. when the owner won't put money into it he/she has checked out. this is all a long way to say that the food was actually good. look, i'm not a fan of TGiF normally. i've been there several times since my early 20's and haven't liked it since back then. this location in particular was the site of one of my worst visits back when i was in my mid-20's - gray steak, ugh. however, i thought, let's give it a whirl. it's something we haven't had in a while. so, i had the Crispy Whiskey Combo. the broccoli was broccoli. the potatoes looked terrible (over microwaved) but weren't too bad. the shrimp was good and the ribs were damned tasty. Danielle had the Whiskey-Glazed Chicken Sandwich and said it was messy but very good. anyway, like i said, our server was VERY nice and the food was good, but i don't foresee us going back anytime soon and by then i don't see this place even being open anymore. read more

Average food and unhappy staff My grandma and I have been coming here for years. She really loves the pot stickers. Not my favorite place but we go for her. Now I have kids that go as well. We go at lunch time and there are only a handful of tables with people seated. The menu has shrunk I'm assuming due to COVID times. Portions are still good but prices seem high and quality has gone downhill. The waitstaff is also unfriendly. My grandma is in her 80s and can be hard of hearing the waitress snapped at her twice. It just made us both feel uncomfortable. On a side note we also ordered a side of the rainbow cake to go. Definitely not worth the $10. Not much flavor. read more

Went about 5:30 pm on a Saturday. Food was fine. They seemed a bit short staffed and it took a while to get our meal, but that's pretty typical these days no matter where you go. Server was nice and refilled drinks, checked on our table, etc. read more

We decided to venture out to a local restaurant and give them a little business. We should all do our part to keep these businesses going. It would be one of our very first times out to a sit down meal. We were so excited!! I looked at my WW App and decided I would get the potato skins with bacon, YUMMY!! My mouth was watering. It sounded great to my husband as well. We parked and went into the restaurant. After a minute or so someone noticed we were standing there and sat us down. The minutes were going by and I see that the couple two tables away from me (social distancing) got up and called one of the employees. She asked if someone was going to give them the check so that they could pay for their meal. The young lady went to get the waitress. She gives them the check and the guest hands her payment. The waitress comes back to the table without the receipt. So the guest asks her for the receipt. In the meantime I am looking at the "social distancing" signs on the tables. The Grub Hub delivery person come in and stare at the tables that are suppose to have the pick up order for him. All the while "NO ONE" even acknowledges are very existence. We sat there without any service whatsoever. No water, nothing!! I really hope this is not the new normal in restaurants. This is the time to step up your game. I looked at my husband after sitting there for what seemed forever and I said, Let's Go!!! By that time I wasn't hungry anymore for their food. If they didn't care to take our food order, I was feeling they would not care about making our food. So sad!! read more

Terrible food and weird service. They served me a side of green onions that was very CLEARLY brown, wilted, and parts of it was rotten and slimy. When I pointed it out to the server he said it looks fine to him. This is a person who is serving food!!!!!! The audacity that he would deliver that to a table is beyond me. It honestly made me scared to eat the food. The wings I ordered were not cooked fresh. They taste like they were boiled, baked and microwaved. Trash. The potato skins were trash too. There was black specs covering the bottom of each as if it was baked on a really dirty pan or fried in old grease. I walked into the restaurant at 8pm. Half the place had chairs on top of the tables already even tho they close at 11pm. Just shut this place down already. The food, service and ambiance sucks. I love TGIF restaurants but I definitely will NEVER patronize this one again. Should have listened to the Yelp reviews when deciding to come here. read more

Very disappointing visit today I waited more than three or four minutes just to get noticed to be seated. Didn't notice a lot of activity which should've given me my first clue. there were 8 to 10 tables full of people --not very many that had food on table. that should've been a second clue it was gonna be a long lunch. Wasn't the place I planned to have lunch today but I do come here often and it's the one I chose. I won't do that again soon. My drink order was filled right away and I decided on the potsticker mango salad and and added chicken. Now notice that I'm ordering a salad, which doesn't take a lot of prep work. I do my usual reading of articles on my cell phone and waited over 25 minutes to get A SALAD. I touch the potstickers and they were ice cold which I immediately had to send back. They did not reappear till I was more than halfway done with the chicken over spinach and mescaline greens. The server was quite accommodating and was apologizing to every single table that I was in earshot of. So with all these tables, there are two servers and apparently one and I use the term loosely cook. Both servers were apologizing to every single table multiple times and checked on their customers multiple times and what I find amazing is the table right next to me commented well. This lunch has much to be desired but when asked said everything was fine. Not helpful. Finished my food asked for the check paid it with cash and exited as fast as I possibly could lunch was the only thing I had on my schedule for today and I was bitterly disappointed today. Next time I will go to the rail or red lobster or Longhorn, where I don't seem to have much problem lately sorry, TGI Friday you lost my vote today but again both servers were standing on the points of stars to make everybody as happy as they could possibly make them so was not the serving fault. read more

Came in for lunch today. With the nice weather they were not very busy. The staff was cleaning making the place sparkle. Lindsey took care of use. She was Very sweet. Offered us the New Dragon Fruit Margarita to start with. We got the Fried green beans as an appetizer, they came out fast and were great. the wasabi ranch gave the a great flavor. My Fiancee got the Cajun pasta and i got the Chicken tenders. My tenders came out great, Fries were fresh, Coleslaw was Creamy. My Fiance loved the Cajun Pasta, She said it had just the right spice. I would defiantly recommend this place to anyone!!!!!!! The food is good, Staff is friendly, and the place is very clean!!!! read more

Years ago the Strongsville TGI Fridays was our GO TO place ...... then many other venues appeared and we have not been for a longer period of time than I care to admit. I say that because today we went for their ribs special ....OH MY were they good!! ... the fries were nearly as good as the ribs! The service was also very good ......... If you have not been there for a period of time DEFINITELY go back ... if you are a newbie, add this to your list of "go to restaurants" in the Strongsville area. read more

TGI Fridays Brew Garden Strongsville We came to both places saying there were going to be 20- 30 people. Both places said they could not handle us. I cannot believe two places turned down hundreds of dollars of business tonight. At 4:00 p.m. and both places were empty. Option two was Fridays. They told us we cannot all sit together because they don't have enough staff/ would be too much for one server if we all sat in an area and then the kitchen manager said they couldn't handle our orders. Have been coming here for years. Pretty sure this is the last time. Spicy Chicken Sandwich was bland and burger ordered medium was served rare. The appetizer platter was pathetic. Overcooked boneless wings, non existent garlic parm sauce and the potato skins were a huge disappointment. What happened to the half skins with real bacon pieces they used to serve? I feel like everything on the platter was taken out of the boxes you find in the freezer section of the grocery store. Friday's sure has changed, and not for the better. Sorry to say that a restuarant that used to be my favorite is mediocre at best. First if you are elderly or handicapped you can't get in or out of the front door due to it's weight. Definitely could use a handicapped door bell or other means to improve. When they had more than customers they had someone helping with the doors poor design. Nightly special brought us in, doubt it will bring us back. Aroung 6 PM they had 6 tables full with senior citizens. You can see the writing on the wall. Not here for the long haul. When they were busy they had a decent menu. They had the best fried mushrooms and steak on a skewer that was awesome. The menu is so small and mistly fried or covered in sriracha crap. So disappointed. Possibly the slowest service I've ever received. Placed order for our entire meal immediately. Forty five minutes later, no refills. No food. Haven't been to a Friday's in a long time -Came in for a quick Dinner after golf and sat at the Bar.... The Bar was so sticky and flies were flying around all the drinks and around the bar. Bartender was un-attentive and didn't seem to know what was going on. We debated about leaving but thought we'd give it a try since we were just ordering soup, Cesar salad, and the soft pretzel with cheese appetizer. The soft pretzels with cheese was the best thing we had and was surprising good, The French onion soup was so salty you could barley sip it and the cheese on top was barley melted, The Cesar Salad was very fishy, there about 9 pieces of lettuce, and no bread stick that was listed on the menu...what a bummer! Definitely a disappointment and wouldn't recommend eating here- Save your money! read more

This was only a late dinner stop due to other places being closed. TGIF. Should be fairly consistent, because they prefab the seasonings and sauces. But somehow it's a gamble ordering. I have never liked strongsville location and don't have good recommendations. I always get Cajun shrimp and pasta. Pretty idiot proof dish. The sauce is prefab and pasta, well how tough is boiling water and waiting 8-10 minutes. Their pick two ($15.99) deal want much of deal. The spinach dip was almost lacking any trace of cream. If you order salmon that isn't glazed you are making a big mistake here. Unless you lack tastebuds, there is little, to no flavor here. The portions were small. The parmesan steak fries were lacking real cheeses or again flavor. The server was actually very friendly and manager did stop by to ask about food. She was concerned about ok and decent describing the meals. Not enough to Off set food. The food rates a 1 1/2 star but service have a little better rating. A late night stop around 11:30 and the food is still as well cooked and presented as if it were in the middle of the day. I had the two pieces of grilled chicken with Jack Daniels, broccoli, and sweet potato fries. The broccoli was crunchy to the bite and the sweet potato fries were well seasoned. The grilled chicken looked wonderful and it was pretty juicy on the inside as well. The Jack Daniels sauce tied the whole meal together and was a good size meal as well. The waitress was also friendly and quick. Good place to come if you want some late night good food. read more

I can only guess the positive reviews for this restaurant has gotten our either paid posters or workers at the managers have made post while they're dead like they are here today on a Friday at 4:30. How bad, I had to call the restaurant from the front door after waiting to be seated for 5 minutes. Yes I had to call the restaurant and tell someone to please come out and greet me. This was while four to five people were walking all around didn't even say didn't even say hi. Or your side of onion rings I got four. New bigger rib special is a joke. First set were at best a 1/3 rack at any other place. Meat was thin and so tough I could barely get what little meat there was off the bone. It's not like they're busy, in the hole restaurant the blank 9 tables for people sitting. My waiter Jeremy was the only bright spot of the whole meal. If you noticed most of my views are four to five stars. I hardly ever leave a bad one. This place is the worst experience you'll ever have. You have been warned don't come here. read more

Place was very busy. There were 5 of us. Ordered the 2 of the $5 appetizers, boneless wings and the flatbread. Both were delicious. The complimentary chips and salsa was nice. Just left the strongsville location.Lousy would not be close enough.. Ordered a Tito strawberry mule,no strawberries.had a lime instead.When I asked why,the waitress said there out of strawberries.My wife ordered a strawberry fields salad, had strawberries,magen that..Had to ask about the chips and salsa after waiting quite a while from our first request.The entrees arrived right behind the salsa and chips,nice timming! The ribs were served,no extra plate for bones,no wet nap.Called the manager,got no real concern,comped my incorrect drink,WOW.. Tried one of their "famous" burger stacks, asked for medium got a burnt to a crisp burger the size of a McDonald's quarter pounder all for 3x the cost. Small portions for way too high prices. Floors were sticky menus were sticky nothing looked particularly clean. Service was adequate. Overall would not recommend and I will not be returning. read more

Whenever I am in the mood for TGI Fridays (which is seldom) I always end up disappointed and regret wasting my time and money. It is just never as good as I believe it to be! Last time I was there, my burger was supposed to have avocado and onion straws on it. The three onion straws that we're on it were soggy and wet. Th avocado was MIA and the burger was well done when I asked for med-rare. The server was nice and brought me new onion straws and avocado,but I was to hungry to send the meal back so I just dealt. But as I remember all of the times I've been to TGI Friday's I have never been all that impressed or satisfied. I think you would be better off at the B Spot or even Applebees. read more

Without a doubt - the worst TGIFridays experience I've had. We waited (amid several dirty tables) for 10-15 minutes to be waited on the first time. Then another 15 minutes to have our order taken. Then another 25-30 minutes for our food which came out in 2 sections - 5 minutes apart. They were out of two things we asked for. The mustard and mayo we'd asked for didn't arrive until the food was half gone and drink refills were not to be seen. The manager never stopped by to check on our experience. We might have even thought they were just understaffed except for the congregation at the servers station - and most of the time included the person we assumed to be the manager (gray button down) loitering and appearing to hit on the female servers. It turned out conversation- unfortunately to the me too movement and unwanted advances from the boss - sensing the "I'm trying to be polite and still get-away" body language on the part of a number of servers. Haven't been here in a few years so wife and I decided to go for change of pace. Big mistake. Way overpriced for terribly average food and small portions. Server was trying too hard to be nice but otherwise service was fine. I know most of these type of chains are overpriced for the quality and quantity but TGIFridays has definitely dropped to the bottom of that list. Definitely will not eat here again. read more

This is the worst TGIF that I've been too. First when we walked in it was freezing cold, we sat and waited about 10 minutes before the waiter came over. He started by saying that he was having problems with the computers and took our order. After waiting about 15 minutes he came out with the meals and apologize because the appetizer was not ready. What else can go wrong huh? Well I take the first bite and the food was ice cold. Got turned off called the waiter over And told him to take the food.. So we got endless appetizer and the food was all over seasoned and too much sauce, if you have any kind of good palate you won't like the food! The bathrooms smelled like sewage and were nasty.
