The egg roll & salad were a nice addition. There is a large parking lot which made parking super easy. It can get busy during lunch so keep that in mind. First - let me say I've been coming here for many years and spent a small fortune here over the years...this Saturday evening I Got there 8:45 pm and was supposed to close 930pm...they told us 'to go' only. She came back and said it would be an additional $2.00 charge for carrots. I said, it is a vegetable, yes? She said, "do you want it or not?" Thai addict is a great option for Thai food for those in the La Palma, Buena Park area. Some notable dishes my wife and I recommend are the Thai boat noodle, And the pork over rice plate. Noodles here are also quality. There setting has plenty of room with clean bathrooms. This used to be my favorite Thai restaurant. However, the food quality has changed and not for the better. The appetizers I ordered were potato wonton and shrimp tempura. The potato wonton used to be my favorite but these tasted horrible. The shrimp tempura was not tempura. and looks like they came from frozen aisle of market, the cheap ones. We tried their lunch specials the other day and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the BBQ Pork Ribs, and my wife got the Fish on Fire. I have only ordered the Boat Noodle soup on the couple of occasions that I have visited. It is very good and the spice level is perfect. I selected the hottest level my first time and a mid level on my second visit. I now know the range and what to expect. You're definitely not getting Americanized watered down spice levels. Food and service is always great there. But when we came here today it seemed like new ownership. They were very pleasant and walked around in flip flops and crocks. Thankfully they all had socks on. The food took a little longer than usual. We ordered some mixed BBQ and the only thing that was warm were the ribs. The decision making skills and hiring practices to represent the establishment becomes questionable. There is emphasis that there was no reason to provide false information. I was more than willing to settle the bill expeditiously and even intended to leave a generous tip, until the disrespect. Our order exceeded $150+, and despite waiting for 10 minutes while the staff reviewed the footage (during which I was repeatedly accused of dishonesty) they failed to confirm the number of fried rice plates we were incorrectly charged for. As I was pleading to settle the bill and just leave, the owner proceeded to use not one index finger, but rather inserted both index fingers to cover his ears to shut me up as he sung "La La La," motioning his head like the eternity symbol. This experience is not only deeply disappointing, but utterly unwelcoming. The disregard for both customer service and basic integrity is alarming. Ordered kung pao chicken and noodles for take out. I get home and there were maybe 4 thin/small pieces of chicken in the kung pao and the noodles were super mushy. I drive back to the restaurant to either get a refund or an exchange but the managers weren't there. The employee got the manager on the phone and was told that they didn't want to give us anything, an exchange or a refund. Mind you, our food was basically untouched so it wasn't like we ate most of it and tried to get our money back or an exchange. The only good thing was that the employee who helped us was very nice. Lunch special items start at $12.95 (depending on what protein you choose) and come with salad and egg roll. I ordered the Pumpkin Curry and it was a generous portion. I liked how soft and creamy the pumpkin was and the crunch from the bell peppers. I felt the curry was on the sweet side, maybe a bit too sweet. I also ordered the Pad Thai and that was too sweet as well. Just note the dishes are made Medium Spicy, but you can adjust the spice level. I ordered a mild and it was the perfect amount of heat. Service was okay. They were nice, but not as attentive. It was getting busy in the restaurant and we had to flag someone down to take our order, grab to-go boxes, and get our bill. The restaurant is located in a strip mall. The inside has a nice, modern aesthetic and is a good place for large groups. I would come back again though and try their other lunch special menu items. There aren't many Thai place near where I live. When this popped up, I was pleasantly surprised at how big the inside of the restaurant was and the food tastes absolutely authentic. The pad see ew noodles are made in house and the yellow curry had a great flavor. I wasn't loving the crispy pork over rice because it seemed overcooked, but everything else was amazing. It's served on a burner so it stays extra hot. The papaya salad was good, however I like mine with more peanut flavor but the vinegar sauce was still really refreshing and the salad had the perfect light crunch I was looking for.
