17. Pho Tai Nam Gau

Took my parents here to try this local spot instead of having to drive all the way down to Westminster for pho. We enjoyed the pho it was delicious. We all ordered number 17, they had large or small bowls. We got the small bowls and the portion size was great. The flavors were on point, lots of meat. It comes with fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil, sliced jalapeños, and lime wedges. Service is great, the gentleman was very friendly, efficient, and professional. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is nice, lots of seating, and clean location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place redesigned their place with a new sign/different name and there's never any customers, but I figured I'd give it a try and this was a one-and-done experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It seems to me like it's a family business but the ambiance of the place is dead as there was only one customer besides me and my friend.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was also stuffy in there even though we came at night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had two TV's but only one was on and it was playing this karaoke/Christmas song on repeat which wasn't great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their prices for all their food seemed pricey as well for mid food. I got their #62 COM SUON NUONG (Rice with Pork Chop) and as appealing as it looked, it wasn't great taste-wise overall. The pork chop was tender and seasoned but tasted bland without their fish sauce. The onions that came on top of the pork chop were the only thing that was flavorful. The sliced radish/carrots tasted bland and bitter. Usually compared to other pho places, radishes/carrots taste sweet so this threw me off. My friend got their #12 PHO CHAY (Vegetarian Pho Style) which was decent and the only vege pho on their menu. The vegetables inside tasted fresh and the broth was also good. There's only one size for their vegetarian pho though which was large. Overall, it wasn't the best experience and I won't be coming back.

All I can is Wow! I have had a lot of Pho in my lifetime, but this was one of the most delicious Pho I have had! The meat just fell off the bone and the broth was so tasty. I did not want to alter it with any hoisin or Sriracha. It was an impromptu visit as I was getting my car waxed across the street at the car wash. I saw that they were open so I gave them a try and I am so glad I did. They were very friendly and welcoming and I had a nice chat with Julie. I will definitely be back with my family.

Shrimp Pho aka 11. Pho Tom

Came here again yesterday. We were seated quickly and our order was taken in just a few minutes. I decided to try the shrimp pho, #11 on the menu since I always get brisket. I'm trying not to have red meat as much anymore, it's nice they have options here. The food was good. I decided to add a little chili oil and the spice elevated the flavor for sure. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is always clean when we've come before and it's still clean now[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], [[HIGHLIGHT]]glad there was more people here when we came and the service is always good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Thai milk tea and Vietnamese coffee.

I came here with my boyfriend for dinner. We were originally looking for Noodle Factory, but discovered it had closed and this restaurant had taken it's place. This place still had noodles so we were ok with having dinner here. We were seated right away and took some time to look at the menu. The decor is simple and clean. To drink I got the Thai milk tea and my boyfriend ordered the Vietnamese coffee. The Thai milk tea was delicious and my boyfriend enjoyed his strong coffee. For our entrees I got the bbq pork with vermicelli noodles and my boyfriend got the chicken wings and fried rice. My noodle bowl was really good, all the ingredients were fresh and the noodles had a nice bite to them. I really liked all the fresh vegetables, especially the spiral cut cucumber. The pork was flavorful and fatty which contrasted well with the fresh veggies and noodles. My boyfriend liked his fried rice, but said the wings were a little messy to handle. We had a nice and delicious dinner here.

Pho Ly Quoc Su is a great local spot for Vietnamese food prepared and served with care. I've dined here a few times and take-out a couple of times. Food has always been delicious and satisfying. My go-to items are the pho bo and spring rolls. I look forward to trying more items soon like the rice dishes. The restaurant is next to a Korean market; the interior has ample seating and a quiet vibe. Some light music would help brighten the atmosphere. The staff and owner are kind and attentive. Some reviewers say this place has or doesn't have that authentic taste. I have no comparison to what's "authentic," but I really enjoyed the meals here, and that's all that matters. Being local is a big plus, without having to drive to Little Saigon in Garden Grove. Highly recommend.

Fast service. Granted it was empty when I was there. The food was decent. Can't say it's the best I ever had but it solved my craving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall ambiance: this seems like a family restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is also really clean. Our server was constantly cleaning around and organizing the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hope business picks up for them :)

Crispy Shrimp Rolls

3/8/24 It was a chilly night and a great time for some Pho for dinner. I tagged along with my sister and her family. We always past this mini-strip mall area and this was our First time trying this restaurant. Parking: lots First impression, clean, you can smell it too. Very a spacious and bright. Service: she was the server, the waitress, the bus lady and the cashier. She was quick! Friendly and attentive as well. Food: only going to rate what I ordered. I had the ox tail pho. When it first came out, it didn't look like what I normally get at other pho places and not to mention, what I received did not resemble their photo from the menu. I was expecting the large bones. Nevertheless, the broth had depth of flavor, it was delicious. The oxtail was tender, but it had too much fat and tendon for me. I also ordered the crispy shrimp rolls. The shrimps were fresh and the rolls were crispy. Overall rating from my sister's family, thumps up. Looks like we will all be back.

We were craving some warm pho on a cold night, and Soup Shop sounded like the perfect spot. The plaza Soup Shop is located in is usually super crowded, but if you go after 9pm when most of the other restaurants and shops are closed, you'll find plenty of parking. Write your name down on the waiting list at the front podium and then wait for your name to be called. They have a few seats to wait right outside the door. Once we were seated, we were given menus. I really like that their menu has a lot of large photos of the dishes, so you know what you're getting! Once we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly despite being busy. For appetizers, we ordered the Crunchy Pork "Bao" since it sounded unique. Inside the bao is pork shoulder, mushroom, Vietnamese sausage, and quail egg. The outside has a thin, perfectly crispy layer that gives a nice little crunch when you bite into it. Really enjoyed these and would recommend! We also got the Crusted Parmesan Cauliflower. Not sure what's in the sauce, but it's sweet, tangy, and delicious! It's also topped with fried onion, cilantro, cucumber, and parmesan cheese. Also a winner! For entrees, we got the Chicken Pho and the Pho Ribeye. For the chicken Pho, you can get it with thigh or breast meat. I got it with breast meat, and they gave a good amount of meat! A little dry, but I appreciated that it was nice and lean. The flavor of the soup is really good. Pho Ribeye was also tasty! Hit the spot.

June 2026 Updated review:…read more Bowls have been dumbed down by 40%. Less meat, more noodles, less broth and less veggie amenities. Truly disappointing since they upped the prices as well. So you're paying more for less good food. I would hope they read my reviews and go back to how they served big bowls of yummy pho with great ingredients. I know food is expensive but they've already increased their prices to offshoot current inflation. SO GO BACK TO HOW YOU USED TO SERVE PHO.

The overall mood is so chill, making it the perfect comfort spot to unwind, relax, and just enjoy a fantastic meal. The pho here is top-tier with a rich, deeply flavorful broth and fresh ingredients, but honestly, the staff is what makes it really special. At this point, it feels less like a standard restaurant transaction and more like visiting close friends; the waiter lady is always so warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, even during rush hour and she is the only person working. Me and my husband specifically enjoyed the Thai Tea, which rivaled other drink places, which had a deal to buy 1 and get 1 free! Do yourself a favor and check them out if you're in the area.

Unfortunately, they didn't make it. After we came back off of lockdown, I remember driving around a two mile radius near the Cerritos Mall trying different places. They were open, but none of them served oxtail pho which is my preference for the nutrient density. Then I found Pho Pioneer, and I couldn't have been more impressed from day one. I'm a pretty low key, chill person. I prefer speakeasy vibes, quiet spaces, and traditional spots and this place checks every box. The service is great. The woman who runs the restaurant has always been incredibly sweet and welcoming. It makes a difference when you feel genuinely appreciated as a customer. I also love the art and photos on the walls, and the fish tank is a whole experience on its own. There's nothing quite like eight creepily beautiful fish judging you while you're sipping pho and recovering from a cold. Pho Pioneer has become one of my go to spots, and I'm grateful I found it.
