This is hands down the best pho spot in town. I've been coming here since they first opened, and I've been a regular ever since. I come here so often that the owner recognizes me every time I walk in. She's always incredibly welcoming and does her absolute best to take care of everyone. She runs the place by herself, so when it gets busy, service can slow down a bit--but you can tell she's working hard and genuinely cares about her customers. If you come often enough, she might even memorize your order! (Mine is ridiculously complicated, too. ) The biggest thing that keeps me coming back is the consistency. The broth is always rich, flavorful, and served piping hot. There's nothing worse than getting a lukewarm bowl of pho, and I've never had that problem here. Another little detail I really appreciate: when I ask for no cilantro, they actually only leave out the cilantro. A lot of pho places remove both the cilantro and green onions, but not here. (Cilantro tastes like soap to me... don't judge. ) The portions are huge, and it feels like the meat never ends. (Not sure if she just hooks me up because she knows me, but I'm not complaining!) Personally, the rare steak and flank aren't my favorites, so I always order the tendon--and it absolutely smacks every single time. Took my parents here to try this local spot instead of having to drive all the way down to Westminster for pho. We enjoyed the pho it was delicious. We all ordered number 17, they had large or small bowls. We got the small bowls and the portion size was great. The flavors were on point, lots of meat. This place redesigned their place with a new sign/different name and there's never any customers, but I figured I'd give it a try and this was a one-and-done experience. It seems to me like it's a family business but the ambiance of the place is dead as there was only one customer besides me and my friend. It was also stuffy in there even though we came at night. They had two TV's but only one was on and it was playing this karaoke/Christmas song on repeat which wasn't great. Their prices for all their food seemed pricey as well for mid food. I got their #62 COM SUON NUONG (Rice with Pork Chop) and as appealing as it looked, it wasn't great taste-wise overall. The pork chop was tender and seasoned but tasted bland without their fish sauce. The onions that came on top of the pork chop were the only thing that was flavorful. The sliced radish/carrots tasted bland and bitter. Usually compared to other pho places, radishes/carrots taste sweet so this threw me off. My friend got their #12 PHO CHAY (Vegetarian Pho Style) which was decent and the only vege pho on their menu. The vegetables inside tasted fresh and the broth was also good. All I can is Wow! I have had a lot of Pho in my lifetime, but this was one of the most delicious Pho I have had! The meat just fell off the bone and the broth was so tasty. I did not want to alter it with any hoisin or Sriracha. It was an impromptu visit as I was getting my car waxed across the street at the car wash. I popped in for lunch one day. The restaurant is pretty small but cozy and clean. I was seated and helped right away. Within 5 minutes I had a bowl on the table. It doesnt get much better than that. I came here with my boyfriend for dinner. We were originally looking for Noodle Factory, but discovered it had closed and this restaurant had taken it's place. This place still had noodles so we were ok with having dinner here. We were seated right away and took some time to look at the menu. The decor is simple and clean. To drink I got the Thai milk tea and my boyfriend ordered the Vietnamese coffee. The Thai milk tea was delicious and my boyfriend enjoyed his strong coffee. For our entrees I got the bbq pork with vermicelli noodles and my boyfriend got the chicken wings and fried rice. My noodle bowl was really good, all the ingredients were fresh and the noodles had a nice bite to them. I really liked all the fresh vegetables, especially the spiral cut cucumber. The pork was flavorful and fatty which contrasted well with the fresh veggies and noodles. My boyfriend liked his fried rice, but said the wings were a little messy to handle. Pho Ly Quoc Su is a great local spot for Vietnamese food prepared and served with care. I've dined here a few times and take-out a couple of times. Food has always been delicious and satisfying. My go-to items are the pho bo and spring rolls. I look forward to trying more items soon like the rice dishes. The restaurant is next to a Korean market; the interior has ample seating and a quiet vibe. Some light music would help brighten the atmosphere. The staff and owner are kind and attentive. Some reviewers say this place has or doesn't have that authentic taste. I have no comparison to what's "authentic," but I really enjoyed the meals here, and that's all that matters. When it first came out, it didn't look like what I normally get at other pho places and not to mention, what I received did not resemble their photo from the menu. I was expecting the large bones. Got my usual pho dac biet , but to go: raw meats were packed separately from noodles and broth, asked for steamed bean sprouts, a separate bag of the limes, basil leaf bunches and prepackaged sriracha and oyster sauce. Broth : 8/10 : piping hot, not as sweet as others I've had , very clean and not fatty. Meats : 5/10 after being in the hot broth the raw meat ended up being an oddly stringy chewy texture, the tendon and the other meats were also a little tough. Crispy egg rolls also had a bit of too swiney flavor and not enough crunch. Quick pickup and clean inside. I think pho is one of those very comforting foods especially when temperatures drop , this old girl cannot enjoy the winter weather of 60 and below during the day!! I asked if I can get more Chinese sausage instead. She agreed, but when I got home, there were literally 4 pieces of Chinese sausage. This location has always been a pho shop for as long as I can remember but it's changed names and ownership. Out of all the pho in the La Palma/Cerritos area my husband says this is the most authentic. They decorated for Christmas already so the store front is really pretty and the inside is so cozy. It got a little stuffy cause the air wasn't on and that's my only complaint. Service was really friendly and the lady checked up on us also. Excellent Pho, but extremely slow service. Their broth and meats are excellent and wonderful. However, a few times we have been there, the service has been so slow, with one time us waiting over 20 minutes just to get menus at our orders taken. And we weren't the only ones. We will continue to frequent other pho places that are even further away and even more crowded, because the service here is so slow anyway. We hope they succeeded, because they have excellent food, but expect long waits, even when the restaurant isn't fully packed. I truly believe if you go to an Asian establishment don't have high expectations of service versus the foods and its quality. Food: Fresh tasting pho! I had the combo which was excellent. My kids favorite has to the combination pho and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Shrimp rolls and shrimp and pork spring rolls and the combinations platter are very good and fresh as well. They got great tasting thai ice teas, smoothies with boba too. The restaurant: Is not super crowded but we hit a perfect window and got seated right away. It was clean and casual. The servers were nice, but overall, our experience here was unpleasant. The utensils we received were dirty, and it was bad enough that we asked for a plastic spoon to use with the broth. Both my wife and I noticed black specks in our water cups, which was concerning. Even some of our vegetables had black specks on them which really raised my 'brow. The food was not good. we ordered fried rice and pho with briskets but unfortunately, we both ended up with stomach aches later that night--this was the only place we had eaten. Seems like the restaurant was run by a husband and wife duo, and they made sure to check up on us constantly for anything we needed. The pho broth was flavorful, but meat portion were a bit small.
