The food at Thai bamboo is absolutely awesome. Their pad thai and pad see yew is extremely good. However their dinner prices tend to be on the steeper side so I avoid going there at any times other than their lunch special times (which are only during the weekdays). Their lunch portions are absolutely perfect at a great cost (around $8 or $9). There are a couple of choices for lunch specials and they all come with pad thai, rice, and either a salad or soup depending on if its the fall/winter or spring/summer. As for appetizers I have gotten their spring rolls (12 count) a LOT because they are so delicious. However the pricing on the spring rolls are a little steep considering the rolls aren't much bigger than a tootsie roll. The plum sauce that is served with the rolls is delicious. Dessert wise I absolutely LOVE their black sesame rice or w/e it is called (the soupy rice dessert). I did try their mango sticky rice but it wasn't anything that was too impressive. As for their service it was nothing I was very impressed with. I don't get soft drinks/refillable drinks when I go out often but my fiance always orders a 7-up/sprite or a coke/pepsi. Every time we've been here (it is the same thing when I come with my friend) the refills are extremely slow to come and maybe gets refilled once during our meal (which usually at a good service restaurant it's filled +3 or 4 times seeing as we both drink our drinks pretty quickly while eating). One time they didn't bring my fiances drink until basically we had finished our meals (right before we asked for the check). Other than the slow refill service the waitresses were nice but I would have to flag them down whenever I needed something like a check or boxes because the only times I'd really see them is when ordering or when we got our food. Ambience is great, the place reminds me of being in a thai garden. I came here for appetizers, having seen their good selection. I got the Neau Tod, which was severely over cooked (blackened) and unchewable. I also got the coconut shrimp, which was dry and tasteless, aswell as had a hair on them. This is our favorite restaurant. We always get the same thing and share number D6 on the menu which comes with Mongolian beef and pad Thai, among other things. They have so many gluten free options as well. I'm always impressed by every employee and waitstaff person we have come into contact with over the last five years of eating there. Mirela is particularly fantastic! We like to eat in the bar or outdoors sometimes if it's busy and the speed with which we are served is equally impressive. First of all, let me say I know nothing about authentic Thai. I do know about good food though, and That Bamboo is consistently good. I was pleasantly surprised to go to dinner there the other night and read on their menu that they source as much as possible from local and organic sources, including using Small Planet Tofu. This thrills me to no end, on that alone I will continue to patronize them. The food is always really good. I love their rice and the garlic pork. My husband always orders pad Thai, and while he orders it too spicy for me to enjoy, he really loves it. Thai Bamboo on N Division is a great place to eat! The ambience is quaint but roomy. The food is so tasty and we have never ordered anything that tastes bland! I have been to and loved Thai Bamboo for YEARS/ always ordered the same thing. its always been GREAT! last week the table was so dirty I found myself scraping what looked to be shoe polish off the table with a fork (to prove to myself that it COULD be removed). The table had years of grime coating it. The service was VERY disappointing compared to my numerous previous experiences. Not my favorite. I was very excited to try this place because I love Thai food and have heard great things about it, however.... Those people must have lied. I ordered take out. By the time I got home, it was all cold. Then I tasted the crisp tofu, which I usually love elsewhere- all I have to say is eeewww! Had a lovely lunch with the family. Dad was very happy with his big bowl of noodle soup and the rest of enjoyed the curry( red and yellow) and sticky rice. We also had the fried tofu for the first time and it was pleasant surprise. Nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We will be getting that again for sure. Even if you order five stars the food isn't very spicy, there is also no kids menu which is kind of a bummer. I ate here a few years ago and thought it was the best Thai anywhere even though I travel a bit and eat Thai often. I found it to be as good as ever. I chose to get my meal delivered - wrong choice. I placed an order totaling close to $70.00 on Friday, October 6, 2017. The order was placed at 6:31 p.m. and arrived at 9:10 p.m. I am 0.8 miles away from the restaurant and this service was THE WORST I've ever received from a business. There were no utensils with the order, no sauces and you would think since it was so late they could have taken something off the bill. Nope, that was not the case. I did received a call from the restaurant around 8:15 and she said it would be there in 15-30 minutes. Well, 45 minutes later it did arrive. I do not recommend their delivery service. I will post pictures of the total transaction, including time the order was placed, all of the convenience and service charges, the call from the company (which was listed as a Sacramento,CA number) and a text from the driver. We ordered our food at 5PM online for pickup at 6:30PM. We arrived at 6:25PM and was told our food was just being finished up. We sat and waited for over 45 minutes after that was said. Several other people came and went with their food while we waited, with no wait time at all. After about 30 minutes I went to ask about the progress of our food, and before I could say a word the woman at the counter rudely said to me "yeah yeah its almost done" and shooed me away. Looked on Yelp, Thai Bamboo was 0.1 miles away and saw that it was across the street! The interior decorating is fascinating and very calming. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. I tipped 20%. Food was great! The menu is extensive and can be quite overwhelming when considering the infinite combinations of your favorite ingredients. Being vegetarian narrows it down. I ordered a Green Curry with a medium spiciness. It was everything I ever wanted in a dish, served hot with a side of rice. Get a pot of tea with your meal, but dont expect it in a kettle; they serve their loose leaf tea in a fresh press (it's really the bees knees.) Overall it was a great dinner. Since moving to the South Hill, my boyfriend and I have visited Thai Bamboo several times, and we like it! Okay, I have to admit, a big part of the "4 stars" for me is the awesome ambiance. You would never guess it from looking at the outside of this place, but inside there are beautiful wood carvings and statues, and a fountain splashing in the background, which all make this place a brief retreat from the dreary Spokane winter weather. But the food is decent too. We aren't extremely adventurous and tend to stick to very common and mild Thai dishes, but I can say the the Phad See lew, chicken satay and Thai iced teas all pleased our palate. read more

Now this is good Thai. Thai tends to be "ok" with me, but never anything I really crave. Except here. That is because Thai Bamboo goes way beyond the typical curries and Pad Thai pedestrian stuff. I love #34 Cho Chi Pla Duk, catfish in green sauce with bell peppers, basil, and green beans. #33 Phad Talay is also nice and spicy with squid, prawns, fish, and scallops in a spicy chili sauce and lots of vegetables. Meing Kahm is a fun roll-yourself appetizer with lots of tasty Thai treats, using Bai Chai Plu leaves imported from Hawaii. The Vietnamese Pepper Prawns are also excellent. What is amazing about this restaurant is the HUGE menu that has so many different dishes! I could try something new each day for a year and still not get through everything. read more

They have a lunch special for $9 where you get Pad Thai and another dish like Red Curry. Both dishes are half of their usual servings. Actually, that's excatly what I ordered.
