My crispy basil chicken from the lunch specials was probably cooked a few times over. Very forgettable and very small portion. Coke was flat. Because the restaurant was closing in thirty minutes, we just ordered fresh spring rolls and chicken coconut soup. Both items were the worst we've ever eaten. The spring rolls were entirely lettuce with one squishy and tasteless piece of shrimp served with a watery peanut sauce. The chicken coconut soup, which was advertised as "spicy" was not spicy at all and was lukewarm. I can't believe that this place has a 4.2 rating. I first started enjoying Thai food back in the 1980s in Southern California (where we live) and have eaten at dozens of Thai restaurants since then. I've never been so underwhelmed. I love Thai basil. Thai basil is one f the best Thai food restaurant I know of. One thing that is good about them is their noodles and orange chicken. There is a lot of food and it is very filling. There are sauce and toppings that they can give you. Another thing that is good about them is their atmosphere is very good because they are very clean their decorations are nice and they must clean the table right when you leave. One other thing I like about them is their service. Their service is very nice and they are never mean to you. They are also fast and accurate because they never mess up your order. Food tasted like it had been sitting out all day. I ordered a delivery for lime coconut chicken, Panang curry and pad Thai. It showed up really quickly but every dish tasted old. Tonight I got a call that eggplant was a buck extra. Ok. Cool. I paid it. But when the order came it had both white and brown rice (I always get brown) and the curry wasn't up to par. New chef? Perhaps my relationship with Thai Basil just needed a little time and space. I ordered takeout a few weeks ago after a very long time (nearly a year to date) and was surprised how much I liked it again! So, an update on delivery only: 1. Hassle-free online ordering for delivery; super prompt for me as always, usually within 30 minutes. As far as I can tell there isn't a way to check the status of your order after it's placed online, even though you get an invoice emailed to you. So, call if you need to. 2. Like many fast food Thai dishes, everything tastes best on the first go round. Reheated leftovers don't quite taste the same. 3. Now I'm a fan of the garlic beef and coconut curry chicken dishes, which I originally ordered thinking my toddler might try them but no such luck. Pad Thai and fried rice are our current favorites; the fried rice contains pineapple, which my little guy loves. Thai Basil has improved or maybe my tastebuds have. Went here because my boyfriend and I ended up all the way out there looking for a freakin BoA ATM...and we had to grab lunch somewhere before he had to drop me off at the Denver airport. Lunch totalled up to like 15 dollars including tip. I ordered the panang curry and my bf ordered the pad thai. When the pad thai first came out, it looked so scary! It was so red! Turned out to be quite sweet though but it was still yummy. It had lots of chicken, veggie, shrimps, and whatever else goes into pad thai. Now onto my curry...I don't now why it was so sweet :( If it didn't have a kick to it at the end of every spoonful, I would've seriously not eaten it. They can definitely turn a notch down on the sweetness of the food but it had LOTS of fresh veggies and lots of chicken as well and it was only like 6 bucks so i'm not complaining much! This place is amazing! We seriously haven't had Thai food this tasty since Phuket! The most striking thing for me was how each different vegetable in my curry had it's own flavor. For example, the celery and potatoes still had texture and punch. In my opinion, the only (possible?) downside is that the food is a bit sweeter than I'm used to. read more

We went here for lunch this weekend because I had received a mailing this week. I had been to the downtown location and did not know that there was a location closer to home. My wife had never tried Thai food so we had high expectations. We tried 2 entree's with soup and 2 beers which are 99 cents if you order and entree. We were very impressed with the service, serving size and ambiance. Our bill was only 20$ and we were able to save the leftovers for dinner. I've never been to the location as I've always ordered delivery. This is my go to lazy night dinner- they've never steered me wrong. Ordering online is a breeze (I use the eat24 app) and my food always gets here before their estimated time. Great potstickers, Pad Thai, sesame and teriyaki chicken. After several months of hearing about the great food at Thai Basil, my wife and I finally had the opportunity to catch an early dinner at one of Denver's most talked about destinations for Southeast Asian cuisine. Unfortunately, while the atmosphere was quaint and the service quick and reliable, the food just didn't live up to what I have come to expect from quality Thai restaurants. I ordered the Pad Thai, one of my favorite comfort foods, while my wife chose a more classic Asian experience in the Sesame Chicken. Her dish was excellent, probably one of the better servings of Sesame anything I have ever encountered. However, the Pad Thai left a lot to be desired. The sauce was a little too sweet for my taste and the noodles were bathed in a Thai cocktail that made my dish far too sloppy for something that is generally considered to be Asian street food. Not to say that it was a bad experience, but the two star rating has more to do with how hyped this place is compared with the quality of food. I was expecting more and unfortunately if a Thai restaurant doesn't deliver on my favorite noodle dish, it loses massive points. read more

Littleton just got their own Thai Basil!! Woo-hoo!! They took over the space that was formerly occupied by Siam Smiles. This is not the same restaurant with a name change. There is a totally different decor and menu (which is not Thai exclusively, more like Asian Fusion). This is a good thing. Because Thai Basil rocks the house. Eating their food was like a yummy party in my mouth. My husband & I tried 3 of their "starters" and all of them were tasty. The Wok Toasted Potstickers were yummy. Definitely more of a chinese food dumpling vibe. The Crispy Egg Rolls were tasty & cooked just right. I'm used to so many bad Egg Rolls in the Denver area, with weirdness inside of them. There was none of that here - just yummy goodness. And the Thai Spring Rolls...probably my 2nd favorite Thai Spring Rolls in the Denver metro area. They come with a heavenly Thai Peanut Sauce (flavored with coconut milk, I think). For our main dishes we tried Chicken Pad Thai and Crispy Duck. The Chicken Pad Thai was tasty; a little on the sweet side - you definitely need to ask if you want heat. And the Crispy Duck...it was Awwwwesome! It's served with the same yummy sauce that comes with the Thai Spring Rolls. The Crispy Duck is yum served with a side of yum. In conclusion, Thai Basil is yummy in the tummy. read more

Ordered Sesame Chicken Stir fry and pad Thai yesterday. Set aside the fact that it took them well over an hour to deliver our food, the delivery guy seemed stoned, and the fact the the pad Thai was dry and the stir fry was soggy.. I found something interesting in my food. Anyways, It is a very large order so I had leftovers. Today I went and heated them up. As I was eating I bit down on something hard.... Extremely hard. Spit it out to find it was a staple. A STAPLE was in my sesame chicken stir fry. I am not normally a very picky person or someone that complains all that much. I've been hearing about Thai Basil since moving here, and the location in Littleton was the closest to us. We ordered take out and went to pick it up. Cute atmosphere and definitely quaint! We ordered the Wok Toasted Pot Stickers (YUMMY!!!), Crab Rangoons (DELISH!), and an order of Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was a little over sauced for our taste; but it had good flavor and could have definitely had more than the included 3 lonely shrimp! All of the above mentioned dishes/apps are our favorite...and we're always in the hunt for a decent Rangoon that has more crab than cream cheese in it, as well as a good order of Pad Thai. I had not eaten at the Thai Basil in over two years. I like curry and Asian appetizers, main dishes and deserts. I came in said hello, seated my self and was asked if eating in and said yes. There were five customers, including my self. I asked for a soda while reviewing the menu. I was given water. I ordered an appetizer and entree. The wait was so long waiting for the main dish, I asked did they forget me? Once I got the main entree it seemed like it was not made fresh. The hostess was staying in the kitchen. She set my plate to the opposite far edge of the table for me to reach it. I ate then requested a box to go, but would like a dessert. She brought the bill, then remarked she forgot the desert. The desert came out and my dirty dish from my meal remained on the table. I ate the desert paid my bill with a debit card and added a tip. The bill receipt was left on the table with my signature. I felt it should be at their counter. I took it to the c punter, said thank you and left. I paid $28 for a business that did not want to refill my glass until I requested , ignored and seemed did not want to wait on me. Hmmm, no wonder the place was empty. read more
