My husband and I are pretty big fans of Thai food, and this is the place we choose for our takeout. Primarily, this is the best restaurant in mix of quality of food and price. While other spots in the area may have "better" thai, it's always incredibly overpriced. Thai Basil has really great food as well, and we like the way the package their takeout. The box is lined with an aluminum foil that keeps your food hot for a long time, and I really appreciate that. The Pad Se Ew is my favorite, and my husband gets the spiciest Pad Thai that they make. The wait for your food is generally really long here - but we know that, and we always order WELL in advance from when we will need it. Because of that we've never really had an issue. read more

If you go here, get the Pad Thai at a spicy level 3 (5 if you like heat, 7 if you're adventurous) and you will NEVER look at Pad Thai the same. I hadn't been to Thai Basil in many years and was craving Green Curry Soup. Since Keo Thip closed down I was looking for a new place to get it and decided to check out Thai Basil again. I ordered via phone and picked up my order. They were friendly over the phone and my order was ready not long after I got there. The place was clean and they were also friendly in person. My problems came with the food itself. The Green Curry was awful. As in so awful I couldn't even eat it. I love Thai food, it is my favorite food of all time, so this was quite a disappointment. I kept tasting it hoping it was just me but after about four bites I just went and threw it away. I love Thai food, was happy to see that they had a place here in Visalia, they have a Thai basil in my hometown so ever since we moved I had been eager to try this place. Both Thai places are not the same company by the way. So I ordered fresh spring rolls which I do in every Thai place and my go to is pad see eww. If they don't have decent pad see eww I know not to continue to order anything else ! The sauce for the rolls was perfect! The spring rolls were not bad but I had better. I would still get them again. The pad see eww was different from what I'm use too, this one had carrots in it, still good. The meat was chicken and it was great. The spice level I said 3 and at that level it already had a kick to it ! So I'm not going higher lol the customer service was friendly ! So needless to say I'll be coming back ! read more

Got the Pad Thai with shrimp. It had good flavor, but was somewhat dry compared to what i'm used to. We ordered ahead and the food was ready when we went to pick it up. It was packaged well with aluminum lining so it would stay warm on the trip home. Inside the restaurant was nice and clean. Hopefully next time we order from there it will not be as dry. The answer is yes; yes you must eat here. Not just once, but each and every time you want Thai food. It's comparable to the great Thai food in the Bay Area. They have a wide selection to choose from and at every spice level. FYI level 7 of spice will make the tears roll down your cheeks. So beware. I love the drunken noodles as my favorite go to. Oddly, I haven't tried their curries even though I'm huge on green and red curries. Try the Thai beer if you like light beers. They're fast, friendly & delicious! read more
