I'm a huge fan of Pho and we just gave this place a try with my wife. We had the soup which has meatballs, round steak and brisket. I had them hold the meatballs. Flavor was good, noodles weren't bad. I was really disappointed with the lack of basil and lime. When I asked for some they looked at me like it was such an odd request. Maybe because the young kid helping me just doesn't know how to eat Pho. It's a little pricey as well for the location, atmosphere, and quality of food. Ultimately not a bad experience and it's just around the corner from me so I'm sure I'll hit it up once a month until I find something better that's close. read more

One of the worst Thai food experiences I've had (and I've had many). My husband picked up our to-go order and it was wrong.. I ordered Pad Thai with glass noodles and chicken, but they messed up and I got normal noodles. The flavor is different and abnormal compared to all other pad thai I've had. It's a go-to place for us. If no one feels like cooking it's usually always this place. They have good dishes and a large variety of them. Pad-thai is always fool-proof, the thai chicken wings are my favorite. They always have new dishes, and one of the few places to get boba in Allen. Their boba is not the best, but it will do if you're really craving and don't want to drive all the way to Plano. Their staff is really nice and friendly, I mean really kind especially the ones that are always there (they might be owners or managers?) This restaurant has been here for a long time and ive seen them improve their menu and renovate their dining area, bring new seating and decorations, so it's not a surprise that they seem to be doing well read more

Wow, how things have changed here--must be a new owner since our last visit. At one time, you could count on high-quality ingredients, food properly prepared and reasonable prices. Now, it's a bit pricier and they're cutting corners. When your green curry comes out avocado-green in color and the sauce is gel-like, you know something is wrong. Zero curry flavor and my 'medium' spice level was so hot I could barely eat half of it. Fried wontons were tiny, over-cooked and tasteless. The sign said "Thai Box by Best Thai" and being a fan of Best Thai I really expected more of this place. My wife recommended the place while we were out shopping on Sunday. I ordered the Pad Kee Mow which I expected to be very similar to what is served at Best Thai. However, there was no comparison. The chicken in the dish had that dry, re-heated from the night before texture and taste. The vegetables (broccoli and carrot) tasted like they were cooked separately and added to the dish. The broccoli in particular was crispy but the florets were wilted like they had been steamed. Thai Box is a failure. The fresh rolls were 95% (browning) lettuce. Limited rice noodles, cucumber, carrots, etc. The salad had 1/2 cup of water in the bottom. I had to drain my salad. Both came with the EXACT same peanut sauce. The red curry dish was comparable to a frozen meal. The chicken was dry and obviously cooked and stored, a la Subway. The dish had maybe 2 oz of chicken. The veggies seemed frozen. I order their hottest level and it was a 2, at best, at any other thai restaurant. The owners are trying to create a fast-casual franchise with mall fast food quality. Not like Panda Express or etc in the Chinese cuisine. I had Thai Basil chicken and for a quick meal it deserved 4 stars. There was ample Thai basil and veggies and plenty of meat as well - it had a pretty darned authentic taste. It's not 5 stars because (being picky) there was bit too much oil and the chicken could have been better (but was not bad at all for fast food type chicken). We frequent Asian restaurants, and have a love for curries and pho. Today we had Thai Box delivered, and we will never order from Dragon Deli, Skillman Wok, or any other hole in the wall take out place. You can order high quality, FRESH Asian dishes at comparable prices to the usual takeout places that leave their menus on your door. The pho was amazing and fresh... Everything tastes fresh from garden with clean and crisp flavors. Tofu rice paper rolls with peanut sauce were as great as the ones we adore at Crystal Pho. The curry was perfection and the spice level requested was matched perfectly. I will DEFINITELY order from and dine at Thai Box again. read more

Not Impressed. I came here on Friday after my pre-op appointment... needed food & sugar to keep me from passing out after blood work. Food was hot & quick, but seriously lacked in flavor. I ordered the mini cheese egg rolls & shrimp red curry. The egg rolls were HORRIBLE! The cheese inside didn't melt, it curdled. I silly me for expecting cream cheese like they do at most restaurants, oh no... this was powdered american cheese junk. Blech. The shrimp red curry was ok, far better than the egg rolls, but that doesn't say much. There were only about 6 shrimp in this huge plastic container full of carrots, bell peppers, peas {really?} and red curry sauce. I left most of the sauce & rice there after I finished the shrimp. They get 1extra star for the Taro Milk Tea which was actually really good... but not enough to save this meal.. or save me from having to go next door to Coffee & Cream to get a chocolate chip cookie & an Italian cream soda to rescue my taste buds. read more

This little gem is tucked away just on the corner of Favirview/Allen's strip mall - pretty close to the dog park, and right in front of the gazebo area. The menu is pretty vast - they have noodle dishes like Pad Kee Mow, rice dishes like Basil Fried Rice, curry dishes, appetizers like summer rolls and edamame, soups like Tom Yum, and dessert finishes like Green Tea Ice Cream. I walked up to the counter and was greeted by a friendly cutie. He was patient enough to smile as I pondered over the menu. I think he might have confirmed that my final selection was a popular and good one. I chose the Yellow Curry with chicken (choice of beef, chicken, shrimp or tofu & veggies). I also opted for the fried rice and Tom Kha. I can never pass up Tom Kha. I asked for a little heat on everything, and ordered my dishes to go. It didn't take long for everything to be ready. I sat and sipped my soda as I waited. The curry was tasty. I didn't have high expectations but they surprised me. For $9 the curry was darn tasty. It was flavorful but not overkill. I actually LIKED the potatoes in this curry. Most times, I don't like the potatoes, but these were good. The Tom Kha was okay - it wasn't the best ever, but it will satisfy your fix & I would order it again. There wasn't really much spice on anything but that is okay - it was all still good without the heat. I would definitely return. If I worked in the area, I'd probably grab lunch here often. Tried this place on a whim last Thursday and was very glad I did! The restaurant and decor are very nice and clean which is nice to see for a fast food type place. They have a wide variety on the menu which I appreciated as well. My sister went for the orange chicken and absolutely LOVED it. I chose to go for the shrimp rolls, steamed dumplings, Tom Kha soup, red curry w/ beef and chicken teriyaki to split with my boyfriend. I honestly didn't care too much for the dumplings (I prob would've enjoyed them more fried) and the shrimp rolls weren't anything special (my bf enjoyed both) but my Tom Kha soup an curry were this shit! I was a little apprehensive to try the curry but decided to give it a go just for the eck of it & in so glad I did! It was fresh and full of flavor, with a little spice. Their ordering system has now switched from the "order form" system to a new "barcode" system. In place of the order forms are laminated order cards with the names of each dish on them. You now select the card of the dish(es) you would like to order, and take them to the counter... and you now verbally tell them what you would like or not like in your dish. I don't think it's any more convenient, but I applaud them for saving a tree or two. We still order our usuals for a family outing: pad thai, panang curry beef, and kid's fried rice. Food comes out quick and piping hot, and tastes pretty good for a Thai "fast food" place. Still enjoying the convenience and surprising quality of this restaurant. read more

The food is rather bland. I had Pho noodle soup with beef. There is not much flavor, the onions and beef are sliced thicker than I'm used to, and the noodles are over cooked. My son had beef pad Thai. His was lackluster as well. The flavor is bland and there is a slight burnt taste. My biggest complaint is that this place is dirty. The floor is messy, all the surfaces feel sticky, and the bathroom needs a good cleaning. There are much better places in the area to get Thai food. read more

This place is the equivalent of a panda express. Except the food takes longer and it's not prepared before hand. Additionally they offer Vietnamese cuisine as well as Chinese cuisine. Egg rolls didn't have any meat in them. They were just fried rice paper with cabbage. It was foil and tasted like bad old oil. Their special comes with an egg-roll, an entree, a salad, and drink. The special price was $8.95. The salad was a bag mix. The dressing was gross. We ordered pad sew for our entree. It was alright. Chicken was a decent portion. The flat noodles were over sauced. I was stuck with sauce taste even after eating. Overall, won't ever come back here again. Should have just drove away from "this little gem". Was expecting larger portions for the 9 bucks that i paid. Glad it wasn't a large portion. I would have not wanted the leftovers. Not sure what these other reviewers were thinking. Cheese is not an authentic asian dish at all. Also, please pick one Asian cuisine and do it well. You're not an Asian fusion restaurant because you serve all Asian cuisines.
