The dish was overwhelmingly sweet, rendering it inedible beyond the halfway point. I had anticipated a high level of spiciness, but instead, it was cloyingly sugary, reminiscent of a Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino. Ultimately, I regret my decision to dine here. WOW! We decided to try this spot because our friends said they wanted it for lunch. It was so good!!! Hubby ordered Khao Soi and OMG! That coconut curry is incredible! We took the broth home to sip on later, I'm serious. I ordered the Khai Nom Sai which is basically a chicken noodle broth, very good but you probably should have them add a bit of spice to get some flavors going. It would be absolutely perfect if you're a sick and wanting something that is a light chicken flavor. Also, THOSE CURRY PUFFS! Order them! Do it! If I could give a restaurant 4.5 stars, I would do that, but that is not an option and Thai Charm was better than four stars, so I will go with a five star review. This review does not factor service in the restaurant - I ordered takeout - but I waited in the restaurant and I would definitely eat there. The woman who took my order also did a good job with the order taking and adding stuff when I got there, so her service was fine. I ordered a handful of things. Below is all of it, with notes on each item: - Fried calamari. This is standard fare, but my kids said it was the best fried calamari they've ever had. I am not sure I would go that far, but it was good, especially with the Thai dipping sauce. - Tom Yum soup - good flavor and spice (I got a 1 and a 2). The soup wasn't particularly better than most Thai places, but it had good flavor and punch. - Spicy chicken wings - spice level 2. These had some serious heat, even for a two. The wings probably would have been better texture-wise had I eaten them in the restaurant, but they were still really good and something I'll get again. - Spicy Basil stir fry (with chicken) - really good flavor and good heat. This is normally one of our go-tos for Thai and Thai Charm did not disappoint. - Pad Si Lu - this is another one of our go-tos. I actually prefer this to be a little sweeter than Thai Charm's was, but it was still quite good. It was definitely different than the normal Pad Si Lu (I always thought this was Pad See Ew, but this is how Thai Charm's menu writes it). - Thai Boat Noodles - this was by far one of the most interesting Thai dishes I've ever had. My kids didn't particularly care for it, but my wife and I really enjoyed it. The broth has some serious depth. It was delicious. - Khaosoi (with chicken) - This was extremely good. The way it was packed, we tried the curry by itself. It was tasty, but nothing earth shattering. This gem is located in an old strip next to multiple Asian restaurants in Haltom City. The parking lot has a lot of pot holes and you'll randomly see homeless people outside asking for spare change. They were super busy and the staff were running around and looked stressed out. Even though the staff looked stressed/flustered, they were very nice and made sure we were taken care of. Best Thai we've had in the Fort Worth area so far! Simple and clean space, friendly service. We arrived at 7 on a (busy) Sunday when the kitchen closes at 730 and the restaurant at 8. I think they were all hoping to get out early tonight but the other tables had just arrived as well. They were still friendly and rushed to take orders so we could all enjoy before they closed. We had the special, pineapple curry spice level 5, and khao soi spice level 3. Both were amazing! Deep, rich flavors, bold spices, creamy coconut milk, and tender chicken. Their specialty is Thai boat noodle which I typically don't like but I had a taste of my friends and it was delish and not grainy. What a great place! I came during a crazy rain storm so it was a little quiet when I got there around 1 PM on Saturday. Located in a giant shopping strip with probably way more parking than it needs but still feels cramped driving through there. The service here is good and they came and checked on me periodically and got me in and outta there fairly quick. Came in and was given the option to sit wherever. Waitress gave me a menu and took my drink order. I perused the menu and there where quiet a few things I wanted to try but I decided to go with the crispy egg rolls and the khaosoi. The eggrolls were piping hot, filled with ground park and mixed veggies. They were good but not my favorite, was looking for more of a pork flavor but tasted more veggies. They were indeed crispy though. The khaosoi is one of my things to always gauge a Thai restaurant. It had cream curry flavors with tasty chicken and veggies in it. The noodles were prefect texture however I found myself constantly having to try to avoid getting the curry everywhere while eating the noodles. I asked for a mild however it ended up being a little hotter than I wanted it. I was sweatin'! I personally think chefs at Thai restaurants like messing with people where if you ask for a 1 spice level they give you a 5 and if you want a 5 they give you a 0. I came here specifically to try their thai boat noodle soup. For those of you that don't know what thai boat noodle soup is, it is like the Vietnamese pho but with a kick. The broth is thickened with pork blood making the soup base creamy. There's extra herbs making the broth more fragrant and earthy than pho. The vegetables (bean sprouts/water spinach/chinese broccoli) are also slightly broiled first. Thai Charm's boat noodle soup has the right flavor, but I think it's a little sweet for my taste. Actually, the other dishes (fried rice and basil chicken) I've tried are a little sweet. If they lessen the sugar, their dishes would be better. I didn't think it was too too bad but my husband and sister in law wouldn't want to come back. I would come back but request that they take it easy on the sugar. I thought the portion was also a little small. Our waiter was really sweet though. He was attentive and able to answer our questions and offer some suggestions.
