Best Thai food on this side of town. They specialize in soups and curries, so ordering one of those is a wise choice. The owner and staff are very kind, and the food is extremely consistent. Some recommendations: Boat noodles: What they are famous for...sort of like the Thai response to pho, but with a thicker broth with lots more herbs (and the blood.) I prefer it to any pho I've had hands down. Khaosoi: Egg noodle curry soup with crispy noodles on top, and some pickled veggies to add a salty contrast. Suki haeng / nam: This is the Thai version of sukiyaki. Suki haeng is stir-fried, while suki nam is the same dish but in a soup broth. The sauce is a mix of sweet and spicy. I've tried some other variations of this dish elsewhere, but none compare. Kung nam khon: Shrimp noodle soup, delicious if you like something a little on the sour side (lots of lime and lemongrass flavors in the broth.) All the curries, but especially panang, matsaman or pineapple. Noodles: The classics like pad woon sen, pad Thai and pad se ew are safe options which always taste good. The pad Thai is not as heavy on the sweet sauce as many places, so be aware of that. It's more smoky which I think makes it stand out in a good way. We got pad Thai, which was pretty yummy. Better than others I've tried in the past. The pad kee mow was ok. Was my first time trying this place out was very disappointed I picked up my order and got all the way home. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken fried with veggies that has the cucumber in it but sadly only had like 2-3 little pieces of chicken. I knew I had to order one of these dishes. The wife and I both decided to go with the Boat Noodles. The food took awhile to come out and service was a little slow. This review does not factor service in the restaurant - I ordered takeout - but I waited in the restaurant and I would definitely eat there. The woman who took my order also did a good job with the order taking and adding stuff when I got there, so her service was fine. I ordered a handful of things. Below is all of it, with notes on each item: - Fried calamari. This is standard fare, but my kids said it was the best fried calamari they've ever had. I am not sure I would go that far, but it was good, especially with the Thai dipping sauce. - Tom Yum soup - good flavor and spice (I got a 1 and a 2). The soup wasn't particularly better than most Thai places, but it had good flavor and punch. - Spicy chicken wings - spice level 2. These had some serious heat, even for a two. The wings probably would have been better texture-wise had I eaten them in the restaurant, but they were still really good and something I'll get again. - Spicy Basil stir fry (with chicken) - really good flavor and good heat. This is normally one of our go-tos for Thai and Thai Charm did not disappoint. - Pad Si Lu - this is another one of our go-tos. I actually prefer this to be a little sweeter than Thai Charm's was, but it was still quite good. It was definitely different than the normal Pad Si Lu (I always thought this was Pad See Ew, but this is how Thai Charm's menu writes it). - Thai Boat Noodles - this was by far one of the most interesting Thai dishes I've ever had. My kids didn't particularly care for it, but my wife and I really enjoyed it. The broth has some serious depth. It was delicious. - Khaosoi (with chicken) - This was extremely good. The way it was packed, we tried the curry by itself. It was tasty, but nothing earth shattering. I came here specifically to try their thai boat noodle soup. For those of you that don't know what thai boat noodle soup is, it is like the Vietnamese pho but with a kick. The broth is thickened with pork blood making the soup base creamy. There's extra herbs making the broth more fragrant and earthy than pho. The vegetables (bean sprouts/water spinach/chinese broccoli) are also slightly broiled first. Thai Charm's boat noodle soup has the right flavor, but I think it's a little sweet for my taste. Actually, the other dishes (fried rice and basil chicken) I've tried are a little sweet. If they lessen the sugar, their dishes would be better. What a great place! I came during a crazy rain storm so it was a little quiet when I got there around 1 PM on Saturday. Located in a giant shopping strip with probably way more parking than it needs but still feels cramped driving through there. Waitress gave me a menu and took my drink order. I perused the menu and there where quiet a few things I wanted to try but I decided to go with the crispy egg rolls and the khaosoi. The eggrolls were piping hot, filled with ground park and mixed veggies. They were good but not my favorite, was looking for more of a pork flavor but tasted more veggies. They were indeed crispy though. The khaosoi is one of my things to always gauge a Thai restaurant. It had cream curry flavors with tasty chicken and veggies in it. The noodles were prefect texture however I found myself constantly having to try to avoid getting the curry everywhere while eating the noodles. I asked for a mild however it ended up being a little hotter than I wanted it. I was sweatin'! I personally think chefs at Thai restaurants like messing with people where if you ask for a 1 spice level they give you a 5 and if you want a 5 they give you a 0.
