Thai Hut has become one of our regular joints. After 6+ takeout meals, they are holding 4.5 stars. Their chicken is SO good, and they don't skimp on the meat like some places do, so you're guaranteed to get a filling amount of protein, whatever you order. A takeout entree = at least two adult meals. We love the leftovers, and it's a good price for the amount of food you get. You can really customize your order, including the level of spice (1-5). A level 2 spice burned my face off once, so I stick with a 1 or even no spice. Takeout orders are ready for pickup super quickly. Our favorite dish is the Thai fried rice. Thai fried rice has basil and tomatoes, which you can ask to leave off, but it's an amazing entree. The spring rolls are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I wish one could order just a couple of spring rolls; they only come in five. Worth it, though. The pad thai is packed with chicken and egg and a fair amount of vegetables (but was a teensy bit dry once). The sushi is okay - I'll go somewhere else when I want sushi. read more

Honesty felt like the perfect weather to stop for some Thai food, and this restaurant ended up being a completely random find while I was around the area. The service was quick, and the ambience was casual and comfy , exactly the kind of spot that works well for a relaxed rainy-day meal. I started with the shrimp tempura. The coating was crispy and the shrimp itself was cooked well. Of course, being fried, it was a little oily, which I expected, but there was also a slightly different oil scent/flavor coming through that I personally wasn't a fan of. Other than that, it was decent overall. For the main dish, I tried the spicy basil chicken. I had actually asked the server for something on the drier side, and this was the recommendation. Flavor-wise, it was pretty solid. It wasn't as dry as I expected, but the sauce and seasoning worked well together. I also ordered the pad see ew. Again, it was good, but nothing particularly memorable or out of the ordinary. The noodles had a nice texture and the flavor balance was fine, but again the chicken was the weak point for me and honestly, this has been my experience with a lot of Thai noodle dishes lately. The chicken often tastes under-seasoned, almost boiled, and has that slightly "chicken skin" flavor that stands out from the rest of the dish. At this point, I've almost accepted it as part of the experience, but I'm still on the lookout for a Thai spot that serves a really good noodle dish where the chicken is actually marinated well and blends naturally with the flavors instead of feeling separate from the dish. read more

Service and atmosphere were ok. Sadly the food was underwhelming. Called in order over phone. First time getting food here, was wife's birthday and Peanut Chicken is not on a lot of Thai menu's. Phone call went fine, they got my order right on phone and in person. Restaurant has Asian take out restaurant vibes. Was empty about 7 I clock. My wife's chicken was acceptable. Not bad, but no depth of flavor. No complexity. Just chicken with a sauce that has the essence of peanuts. My go to "judge a Thai restaurant" is Pad See Ew. I've never had this dish so light colored and dry before. Tasted like fish sauce and that's it. I did not wish to finish my food. This was taken to go, however this place was pretty good. We got the Thai fried rice with chicken (spicy level 4), the pad Thai with chicken (spicy level 3), and Tom Kha Gai soup. The chicken was a little dry, but the flavors were pretty decent. Everything had the right spice level. I also never had Tom Kha Gai before, which I generally get curry dishes (however I was encouraged to try something new lol) and it was amazing. Would recommend to anyone, but I might try pork dishes next time. read more

I ordered pad thai, fried rice, Mongolian chicken, and veggie spring rolls. Their pad Thai had a lot of liquid. I'm used to eating dry pad thai, so it just didn't taste right. Fried rice was good, but a bit salty. Mongolian sauce lacked flavor but I didn't mind it. Whichever brand of rice that they used for their rice, was not good. i'm torn between giving this place a 3 star or 4 stars. This place is definitely 3.5 out of 5 stars. I placed an order on Doordash and it the food was made quick for me to pick up. When i got there, the lady (who i assumed is the owner of the place) told me next time to call in and order to circumvent doordash and its fees. i ended up getting a pad thai, pineapple fried rice and the mango sticky rice. Both entrees were delicious and if i didn't get dessert (mango sticky rice), this place would be a solid 4 stars. However, the mango sticky rice were extremely underwhelming. The sweet syrup was not good and the sticky rice was hard. On the bright side, the pad thai and the pineapple fried rice was packed full of flavor and the size was decent for the price paid. 4 stars for this little hidden gem! We ordered and the server missed bringing our dumplings, when we told him he brought them and at no charge. So we had the dumplings while we were having our meal. We had the chicken noodle soup, Mongolian chicken and a kids orange chicken. All was very well done. The rice was a bit hard, really the only thing we didn't like. Only docking a star because the second time we ordered, my beef in the masaman was very very tough. The restaurant is clean and spacious. Service was decent with the exception that it took a little while to get our salad that comes with the lunch specials. The fried rice is good. I did have to use soy sauce to enhance the flavor a little more. There is a $2 up charge to get shrimp which is fine! The only issue is that the shrimp are really over cooked. Full disclaimer: I'm 100% 'Made in Thailand' *Pro-tip: Run far away if you see a thai restaurant putting carrots in almost all their dishes. This is a 1-star Thai restaurant that's riding on tailcoat of the previous 5-star owner. (Thai Thip in Bedford was another one that I've encountered) Food was old and had an off-taste that's very non-authentic (Chinese buffet quality) 1) Shrimp in tom yum goong looked like it's been sitting in the same pot for at least a week. (Gordon Ramsey would agree) 2) Pad Thai had an off-taste with slight bad smell to it. 3) Pad Kra Pao (Stir-fry basil dish) barely had any basil and not tasty at all 4) Panang tasted below average (chicken tasted rubbery) 5) Fried rice was the exact same one you'd find at a typical Chinese buffet place 6) Eggrolls x3 were free but they were so bad we couldn't finish them I pretty much had to re-cook and gave everything a face-lift. If you would notice, 99% of pictures were from 3 years ago, which I would guess was when previous owner still owned the business. This place surpassed expectations, everything was soooo good! We ordered the yellow curry with chicken level 2, pad see ew level 3, rangoons and crispy spring rolls. Level 2 was perfect heat- opens up your sinuses with a good bite but you can still taste everything... my husband had level 3 and it was a bit much his midwestern pallet . Delivery was also incredibly fast, took 30 min to arrive from when the order was placed. 4 stars instead of 5 because the amount of chicken on the curry was pretty lite, really needed double what was there. The container of sauce was huge and fishing out so little was a task. Most reviews I've read didn't have this issue so I'm guessing this isn't normal. This used to be my go-to Thai restaurant but the last two times have not met expectations. I lived in Thailand for 2 years and Thai fried rice is one of my favorite dishes from Thailand. When I first started to order from here they made it just like it was in Bangkok. Tasted the same. They put a fried egg that had some yolk on it just like in Thailand. The last time I ordered, the fried rice was spicy and the egg instead of being fried was chopped up and scrambled and put on top. This last time I ordered which will be the last time I order from here. The egg was done the same way scrambled and put on top instead of fried with any yolk that would drip down through the rice and it was incredibly salty to the point where it is almost unedible.
