I've ordered take out from here twice now. Both times were great in my opinion. I've been eating at Time Thai for years and was excited to see this place pop up as it's closer to my area. I would say the food from here was up to par with Time Thai. I might actually prefer this restaurant. I'll have to try more dishes to see if the consistency and quality remains the same. So far I've tried these items: Lao Sausage- Super authentic taste, just like my grandma makes it. A teeny tiny bit dry. Portion was kinda small, they should give you 3 pieces. 10/10 Red curry- Good. A little sweet but not bad at all. Lots of protein and veggies. Rice comes included which i LOVE. 9/10 Pad Se Ew- I liked it. The noodles were great, not broken apart or soggy. Good amount of sauce so it's not dry. This was one of the most flavorful pad se ews I've had. 9/10 Pad Woon Sen- Very good. Flavor is on point and textures of the noodles and veggies were perfect. Probably my favorite dish so far. 10/10 I will definitely be trying more food from here. The young man that takes orders is very pleasant and the restaurant is nice and clean. read more

2.5 stars round up. We tried Thai Chiang Mai for lunch today, not too busy about 4 tables for lunch. Located in Pleasanton on Hopyard near 580 fwy Thai Chiang Mai is the new Thai restaurant in the area. The menu has all the regular Thai dishes. The prices are reasonable but portions are small. We ordered the Crying Tiger beef 2 stars tiny over grilled tough beef steak the sauce was good. $25 Jungle Chicken 1 stars nothing like the stir fry picture on the menu. Came out the dish was like a tom yum soup. $18 Yum Woo Sen 2.5 stars tiny portions the sauce was too sweet. Few toppings. Tiny disposable wooden chopsticks minus stars. Thai Chiang Mai opened a month ago where Gotta Eat Pita was. Interior definitely retrofitted. Large storefront didn't translate to a large dining area. 12ish tables of 4's & 6's. Soft piano instrumentals in background. Greeted upon entry. Requested to take menu and seat myself at a certain table. Order taken in a few minutes. Food arrived 10ish minutes later. Order had a few mistakes: white rice not brown, not spicy when default is spicy. Got pork which I ordered. Bill showed "veggie". No check-ins at all. Either understaff on floor or in kitchen. Upon paying tab, waitress wasn't sure what I ordered. Informed her. Notice on counter of service charge for using credit card. Offerings (Thai): appetizer, chef's special, lunch special, salads, desserts, stir fry, Thai curry, soups, sides, noodles & fried rice. Specials didn't seem so special, most entrees the usual. Bites: basil pad kra pow lunch special (15.95) -lst time for this. Default spicy, got not spicy. -dab of fresh lettuce salad with carrot shreds, red cabbage shreds, peanut sauce. Deliz. -main had basil, cucumbers, red peppers, green beans, lotsa pork crumbles. Nuanced thin gravy sauce with hints of oyster sauce and Thai soy sauce (Gold Mountain?).,Thai comfort food. Newly opened with plenty of parking, this spot was an absolute gem for authentic Thai food. Every dish tasted like a comforting, home-cooked meal made with care. I ordered the Pad Thai and green curry with tofu, along with the Laos sausage, which came with sticky rice and tasted freshly made in-house- it was packed with flavor. The food is really good here! It looks like they just opened recently. On my way to another site during a lunch break, I was craving something healthy and good so I searched Thai. Came here and tried the fish cake and papaya salad. The fish cake came with the sweet Thai chilli sauce but with cucumbers and onions and green onions. It was pretty good! The papaya salad was pretty good too! It's spicy but maybe not as spicy as I'm used to? Still spicy because I'm sweating as I eat! Still very good! The place has nice decor and is very clean. The service was fine. The staff was nice. It seems like a smaller staff that works here, but they get the good out fairly quick. I recommend! The mango curry was absolutely amazing! rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and made with care. The cream cheese rangoons were also so delicious, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. On top of the amazing food, the lady who helped us was such a sweetheart and made the experience even better with her kindness and welcoming attitude. The service here was wonderful, the staff were very attentive and friendly. However, I was a bit disappointed with the food. The flavors were quite mild; specifically, tamarind chicken lacked the tangy tamarind taste I was expecting. I also found the portions to be a bit small. Had a pretty bad experience, a guy took our order but then we didn't get our drinks, and then the chicken dish we ordered...didn't come with chicken, and the sauce for it was terrible anyways, not much noodles in their glass noodle signature dish, we had to resort to dipping rice into our tom yum, the seafood in which was all chewy and had the texture of frozen seafood. read more

First time, we (party of 10) ate at the restaurant. Everyone loved their food. The pad thai was particularly good; lots of creamy peanut-y sauce (unlike other places where I couldn't taste the peanut flavor at all). Next time, I was really craving pad se ew. I drove 25 minutes, even though there are at least 20 places within 10 minutes from me) to get it because I knew it would be good. Next time, I think I'll try one of their curries. The staff is super nice too. The woman on the phone called me 'honey'. I love that. Easy parking, close to the freeway exit (so convenient!). Picked up Tom Kha Noodle Soup for lunch to-go. Disappointed because I asked for no onions, green onions and cilantro and my soup came with all 3 inside. Also, I asked to switch the thin rice noodles for thick rice noodles and the server said they were out of thick rice noodles. However, when I arrived to pick up my food, I saw them bringing out the thick rice noodles that I requested. Lastly, I asked for vinegar jalapeño sauce and the waiter just said we are out of that sauce. He didn't attempt to ask anyone in the kitchen. Not impressed with the service. read more

Visited yesterday for lunch. Atmosphere was nice as this is a new restaurant so in good shape overall. Music was a little loud but not too disruptive. They had only been open for 4 days so in general they are still working on improving things but experience was overall good. Food was very good overall, Wife had Pad Thai and I had Red Curry. Portions were good as we had the leftovers for dinner. I recommend that servers ask for how hot you want spicy dishes as mine was a little hotter than optimal for me, but it tasted good. I tried the food due to the great reviews. Unfortunately, both dishes failed to impress. The egg roll, though crunchy was somewhat greasy and doesn't taste homemade. This newly opened restaurant has done nice work in creating ambiance with statuary, wall art, flowers and music pleasing you as you enter. I came as a single soon after opening and there was only a party of four seated so I cannot judge what service will be like when they get BUSY!, but my server was cheerful and friendly. The menu dishes will be familiar to those of you who frequently enjoy Thai food. The have only one dish which is peculiar to Chiang Mai. I predict that they face strong competition foodwise from Time Thai in downtown Pleasanton and the Thai restaurant in Uffert Center near Dublin Blvd and Tassajara. They do not have the usual array of Thai spices at the tables and I would like them to do this. I have had only two dishes so far and feel it is too early to critique the food. Did not like this restaurant. The lady that was taking orders and serving was chaotic and didn't listen. The restaurant was empty. Only a few customers and acted like it was very busy. Went an hour before they closed. Food was a little better than mid but the service was pretty bad. You can tell this a mom and pop Thai restaurant. The son had to have been the server and probably his first job. The one thing that stuck out to me was when he took out the trash in a rolling trash bin, he came back in and did not wash his hands. (Let you mind imagine if that was the only thing I saw) We were done with our food and needed to go boxes and his mom handed him my boxes for the food right when he just came back in from taking out the trash. I was standing there watching the whole thing and I had to tell the son to go wash his hands and get me new to go boxes. Super unsanitary.....Honestly for a grand opening too, the kitchen was pretty bad. You can see into the kitchen standing at the FOH and you can tell no deep cleaning had been done.
