Solid Thai food at the Hacienda movie complex and shopping in Dublin. We stopped by for dinner last Sunday so we could research, discuss and mull over a potential new laptop purchase at Best Buy across the street. We started with drinks - Thai iced tea, Thai iced coffee, and fresh coconut- and then ordered an assortment of appetizers and one entrée, the always popular chicken pad see ew. Our favorite appetizers were the roti with curry, chicken satay and crispy angellette chicken wings, though the others (like cream cheese puffs) were also finished by our hungry crew. The pad see ewe was also good, but was mostly packed to go. Thai meals always end with dessert in our family, and this dinner was not an exception. We ordered fried banana with ice cream and sticky rice with mango, with the latter being a clear winner. Total bill was over $150 after tax and a generous tip, as the service was very good. My boyfriend and I went to Sri Thai as it was my first time in the Dublin area and he had never tried this place. We loved it! The service was wonderful, the restaurant is mostly quiet but still a cozy and inviting place to be, and the food was delicious! We got the fresh spring rolls (one of my fave Thai dishes) and the pad thai with chicken. He had yhe pumpkin curry with a side of rice (no picture of that to share, unfortunately). Extremely embarrassed and disappointed. Restaurant at 6:30 was empty. Bad sign Sat night. Restaurant is dirty- the rug from front door to the counter( center of restaurant ) is dirty black trail. The menu has been cut in half. Ordered Pad Tai( friends asked why it tasted like tomatoes)-eggplant w shredded chicken( used to have large strips of white meat chicken- tiny pieces now)- yellow curry shrimp( so watery you could dip w a straw). So sad. The owner/GM is the only server now. You can't let a restaurant get to this low level and expect your long time customers to support. We won't be back. No one heeds those stops signs so just be careful crossing. having sat in the direction where I saw out the restaurant window, I saw quite a handful of cars driving really fast and almost slamming into the car in front of them who almost fails to remember there's a stop sign a few pedestrians who almost got hit. so please be careful out there! having said that -- the food is here REALLY good! they're Roti is perfectly to die for and I've not had Roti this delicious! my daughter and I shared an order of the Som Tum and it was perfectly seasoned. I'm right back here in the East Bay, today. This the last thing I had to do, around the same Corner Block, at the same Shopping Center as last time. I'm here at Sri Tonight. The Beef Garlic Pepper looked good, so I had to get it. And I wanted to be healthy this time, so I got an order of Brown rice to go with it. The Stir-Fry arrived Scorching Hot straight from the Wok. I'm very familiar with this style of Stir-Fry. It's like descent, home-cooking. I've had a lot of versions of this Dish, but I think I never had it with Cabbage before, this is probably the best version thus far. It's kinda nostalgic, because I used to get this Dish, on some late Nights when I was out there in Orange County. It's fresh, flavorful, and comforting. I was thinking this was going to be a 3.9-4.3 stars, this could be a 4.4 stars on a good day, but I also give this 4.3/4.4 stars out of 5 stars. It was a good meal. read more

There is nothing to rave about over prices for what you get and mediocre food. 12.95 for 6 pieces of calamari - breading is nice and light but falls apart/off as soon as you touch it with a fork or bite into it if picking up by hand. No seasoning - the sauce was the saving grace but so little that wasn't enough for all of it. We both got the Pad Thai with chicken for $15.95... it was almost uneatable ... the noodles were over cooked so soggy and broken it's small pieces - the sauce was extremely sweet. Hardly any chicken or tofu. We had to ask for chili sauce - we were given a cute tray with 4 cups with different spices ... after dumping a bunch on it helped some ... The unsweetened ice was the best part ... but also over prices $3.50 but does come with unlimited refills. This is a small place, but a nice charming interior that belies its strip mall-type location. Very tasteful simple wall decor, and nice lighting. A large screen TV showed a Thai version of Master Chef. As a first visit, The Wife tried her usual Pad See Ew. She liked the bean sprout crunch, and found the dish overall "tasty, but not my favorite." Well, you can only have one favorite. I tried a basil salmon dish, with zucchini and green beans, and liked it very much. There was a short beer and wine menu, with a sake cocktail available, so I stuck with the standard Sinha. In short, we'd call this above average for Tri-valley Thai places, but not at the peak. I'll also mention that the service was super quick. We had our food in a very few minutes after ordering. I came with a long time Dublin resident and he tells me this place has been here in the huge shopping center for like 25 years or something. That's impressive a restaurant last 25 years in a shopping center! I don't know if it's been the same owner the whole time though. Parking is a little tight depending when you go. This is a popular shopping center and Dublin is not a sleep little town anymore. We're seated just fine and we decide to keep it simple and just get two popular noodle dishes. First was the ever present Pad Thai and then the Spicy Basil Noodles, aka. Pad Kee Mao, both 3 star spicy. The food arrived in a timely manner and looked super tasty right off. We shared so we each got to have some of each dish. The Pad Thai was very good, with a distinct taste and brightness that I really liked compared to many other Pad Thai versions I've had. The Pad Kee Mao, was well done as well. It has a nice wok seared flavor and I could tell the dish was made with fresh noodles , rather than the dried noodles. Sort of like comparing fresh pasta with dried packaged pasta. Overall, a nice meal. Each dish was priced at $15.00. read more

Thai food is one of those cuisines that I picked up later in life, after I had a great culinary experience in Hawaii at a nice restaurant. This place is located in the once bustling strip mall, but unfortunately, the area has suffered a similar fate as some other malls in the U.S. On this Friday evening, there was only one party dining in. I happen to click on sticky rice, and I would have been sorely disappointed if I didn't get the rice, because it seems as though the curry doesn't include rice. How crazy. No way you can be expected to eat curry without rice. Wish they just include it, or at least include some caveat on their ordering systems. Anyhoo, the curry was delicious. Mild and flavorful, with a nice hint of coconut. Plenty of mix-ins, it went perfect with the sticky rice I ordered. Totally would order this again, especially if you're averse to spicy foods. The paid thai was excellent as well, but I imagine it be even better when it was fresh off the wok. Nice flavor, fish sauce not overpowering like some places, and nice amount of mix ins to this as well. I wanted some Thai food and was looking around on DoorDash to what I can order while at work. This place popped up and I have it a try. Chicken Pad Thai: This was a pretty good fish for what I paid for. It was sweet, which is what I normally like in my pad thai, but I wished it was a little bit more saucier. The noodles were cooked right and there was a fair amount of chicken in the dish. I do enjoy that they placed all the peanuts in the corner and no throughout the entire dish. Fresh rolls with peanut sauce, basil beef, peanut chicken etc. Thai restaurant staples. All tasted good. Not spectacular but very solid. I would order here again EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE REASON.... My bill came to $77.75 before tax. When I added up the items using the prices on their online dinner menu I was charged 45% more than their stated prices. I didn't make a stink at the restaurant but went home to re on Ike in case I was seeing the wrong menu or wrong restaurant. I have the receipt and the printed menu. I was charged &24 more or +45% over their published prices. I will give the restaurant a chance to reconcile and explain but I cannot go back there given the other choices in the area. Delicious food and fast service! We came in on a Monday for lunch and opted to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Inside looked nice and open with lots of seating. We ordered from the lunch special which was very fairly priced based on the amount of food and flavor. Many dishes in the lunch menu were about $15 which came with and entree, salad, and soup.
