Meeting old friends around the holidays... we're craving for Thai food so we came here based on my recommendation I suggested Pad Thai...one friend said she's never had good Pad Thai. Guess what she took the leftover Pad Thai home , Yes! ^_^ I also suggested 2 appetizers, Tofu Satay and House Special Puffs. They Loved both. Tofu satay has great flavor and texture (crispy fried giant tofu + crunchy crushed peanuts + bean sprouts). Puff pastry has crabmeat inside and is served with a lobster curry We also got Penang curry with squid, the squid was tender and delicious. Loved the new try, Pad Preaw Wan chicken. It's sautéed with pineapples, mushrooms, napa...all the goodies in sweat and sour sauce! I will order this for my husband next time; he'd love it! They have 2 dining areas, the front is usually for bigger parties and the back is cozy and warm, smart design. Their service is always friendly and attentive even when they're busy. Portions were good and the flavors were good but would be better if the spice level matched what was selected when ordered online - spice levels are either wayyy off or the workers didn't review the spice level selected before food was made. We got a pad thai (spice level 3), pad cashew nuts (spice level 2), pad see ewe (spice level 2), and pad kee mao (spice level 1). None of them had even a pinch of spicyness to it, which was disappointing. They used noodles that were a bit different than the typical rice noodles used for pad Thai but we really liked it! Massaman curry was delicious as well. The lemongrass curry was a little odd, only because it had a ton chili flakes on top. I ordered a level 4 and typically there's more spice incorporated into the sauce rather than how this was prepared. Service: our server was very nice and super attention. Very much enjoyed my meal at Thai Chili House. We'll start with the service. Very attentive and had a feeling of familiarity even though it was the first time I've been there. Sort of a comfort feeling Food - the Roti was different for me. Was expecting more of a puffy, really thin naan like texture. It almost was like a scallion pancake without the scallions. The chicken curry dip was really good though - tastes and portion size. Pad Thai with Shrimp was among the best in the broader area that I've had. Used to love the Thai Village in Princeton but this one was just as good, if not better. Would suggest a lime instead of lemon - don't know if that is more or less authentic but think it provides a brightness that is even better but the tastes were just great. The massiman chicken was good as was the crispy chicken with mango. Just good flavors, right amount of spice. Thai Chili House has been our go-to Thai spot in the area since our recent move to Hillsborough! My most recommended dishes: - Appetizer: Mee Grob - Noodles: Pad Thai (we order it with extra sauce and no peanuts because I'm allergic) - Duck: Their duck is always perfectly cooked! The skin is always crunchy and I love that they serve it sliced with the meat only so you don't have to deal with eating around the bones. I've only tried the SP Duck and the Lychee Duck, but I'm sure the other duck dishes are just as good. - Drink: Thai Iced Tea (with no ice so it doesn't get watered down). Can't go wrong with this at any Thai restaurant lol On my weekdays off, I always opt for the SP Duck lunch special which comes with a salad and peanut dressing but since I'm allergic to peanuts, they substitute the salad with a vegetable spring roll which is so courteous! The staff is always so nice and efficient every time we visit, plus they're all vaccinated but stay safe and wear masks. Reservations are recommended, but not mandatory to be seated. Parking is easy in the strip mall parking lot. The only reason why I deducted a star was because I've gotten multiple chicken dishes here and the chicken is always dry and bland (even when they're in a curry dish), so stick to other proteins and you'll be set! read more

Stopped here for a late lunch after a movie. We ordered roti for an appetizer-it was good....but only came with one piece of roti and it was very flat and not airy and fluffy like I've had it before. The food was ordered to be picked up and was ready upon arrival. The menu had an extensive list of dishes ranging from noodles to fried rice to seafood, etc. For an appetizer, the mee grob ($7.50) was ordered. It consisted of fried crispy rice noodles and shrimp in a sweet and sour sauce with bean curd, carrots, red bell peppers, and raw bean sprout. This was odd to me due to the rice noodles. They were somewhat crispy as well as having a weird texture. The more I ate, the enjoyment of the dish increased. All of the vegetables were good but would have liked to see more present. For an entrée, I shared the mango crispy chicken ($16.50) and the Pad Thai with chicken ($11.50). The chicken was in a sweet and sour mango sauce with red bell peppers, onions, and basil leaves. The chicken was of good quality and very crispy. I was just not a fan of the sauce as it was a little too sweet for me. The Pad Thai consisted of stir-fried rice noodles with egg, bean curd, crushed peanuts, scallion, bean sprouts, chopped turnips swerved with raw bean sprout and lemon as well as chicken. We have been coming here for lunch on Saturdays for several years now when we are in the Hillsborough area and have always been very happy with the friendly service and excellent food. We have always ordered the same items, because they are not always available at other Thai restaurants, such as the top notch fried tofu appetizer and papaya salad. Then we also get the Lychee Duck entree which is perfectly crispy cooked and the more widely available chicken satay with the wonderful peanut sauce. We top that off with delicious Thai chilled coffee for dessert. The setting is always calm with calm background music. I enjoy spicy food, so choosing. 2-3 for my dishes was the perfect spice level. (3 is there Thai spicy level, which is the hottest, but it wasn't crazy spicy for me) . My Pad Thai recipe is awesome and has been handed down from many generations. Okay, that's total bullshit. Pad Thai was introduced in the 1930s and I am not Asian. I actually learned to make the dish by watching you tube. We were actually going to a wine tasting in Hillsborough and hadn't received a cancellation notice so we changed to eating out. I yelped restaurants near my location and your high scores is how we got to Thai Chili House. The restaurant resides in a strip center on Amwell Road with plenty of private parking. Many people were picking up takeout orders but the dining room was empty when we arrived. We were seated and ordered Pad Thai with chicken to see if it could compare to mine. We also ordered Pad Preaw Won with pork because my wife's colleague from work always enjoyed getting that when they had Thai food for lunch. Soft drinks arrived(byob if so inclined) followed shortly by the entrees. The Pad Preaw Won was delicious and the sweet pineapple complimented the pork so well. The Pad Thai was flavorful but lacked many ingredients like Chinese sausage, that I use in mine. Overall, the food and service at Thai Chili House were great. Well deserving of five stars. 15 mins for pick up on a Tuesday evening. Got my favorite Thai dish, Panang Chicken. Spice level is rated 1-3. I love spice so I hit the 3. Also got the vegetable dumplings. It traveled home with me around 30 mins. I was shocked when I got home and saw the portion sizes. Double the size of what I normally get at my local spot. Everything was still piping hot. Incredible job on the dumplings. You can tell they are hand made and not from frozen. The panang was flavorful, packed with veggies and lots of protein. First of all I'll say ordering the food over phone was not pleasant. They picked up the phone and then put you on hold and then hung up and you had to call again. Food in general was just okay, the curries lacked more Thai flavors we have seen in other great Thai restaurants and was overpowered with coconut milk. Prices are really high relatively but wished the good taste was the same. Restaurant is not bad ambiance wise if you want to go and have a nice casual family lunch or dinner. When I say light and balanced I mean you don't just get the overly sweet or salty or spicy or greasy - everything is just right on all the levels. The chefs there are really good at creating their sauces, you can taste their passion for this cuisine. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here... For appetizers I would recommend satay (chicken/beef)- whichever meat they're both juicy and I love their satay sauce! Their calamari is BOMB... literally exploding with different flavors - I think they add fried garlic and onion? (I'm assuming that's what all the bits are). For vegetarians, I recommend the curry puffs! For entrees, I loved all of them but one of my favorites is the drunken noodles! You don't get the overly saucy mushy greasy noodle dish. Everything is just nicely blended. We also got basil fried rice, mee siam, and crispy Thai chicken and rice (perfect lightly crispy chicken bites with a sweet and spicy sauce), all were delicious! You MUST try: Tom yum Koong (shrimp/veggie) soup. In my opinion, their version of Tom yum koong is slightly different than your typically Thai Tom yum soup- they make it from scratch, it's light and refreshing, and you can decide the level of spice you like! I found this place right here on Yelp a year or two ago and my husband and I decided to try it out on their Grand Opening weekend. At the time, we were able to dine in and the experience was great. Since we are in the middle of a pandemic, we ordered takeout and the food was amazing. I ordered the Tom yum seafood noodle soup that I literally can't stop thinking about until the next time I can have it, my husband got the duck noodle and my brother-in-law ordered the basil fried rice with beef. We were all very happy with our meals and couldn't believe the generous portion sizes for lunch specials. As I mentioned, I am slightly obsessed with the Tom yum seafood noodle soup and it's the only thing that I've ordered here. The amount and variety of seafood is incredible, the broth is delightfully sour while also being slightly sweet and the veggies and noodles make it a meal (in my opinion anyway). My husband went in to pick up the food and commented on how safe he felt (amid this crazy pandemic life) and how nice the people in the restaurant were. I wanted to add a bit to my previous review as it was rather scant. To start, I ordered one of their chicken entrees with rice. I have no tolerance for spice so I asked for the "baby spice" level. The cook prepared the meal perfectly- all the fragrance and flavor of authentic Thai but very mild for my preferences. My dad and mom have slightly more spice tolerance and requested the next level up. I tried their meals as well and the spice was a nice accent to good flavors. The best hidden gem in Hillsborough. When you visit, you must get the tamarind duck! It has such amazing flavor. It sweet, tangly and savoury.
