Got the lunch special - chili chicken. It was great. Some of the best Manchow soup I've also had.

Best Indo-Chinese cuisine in the area, definitely in the Hillsborough-Montgomery neighborhood. Super fast service too.

The delicate…read morewontons were packed with flavorful filling and coated in a rich, aromatic chili oil that delivered the perfect balance of heat, spice, and savory depth. The sauce had just enough numbing warmth without overpowering the dish, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The texture combination of silky wrappers and bold sauce made it an unforgettable starter. Beyond the appetizer, the restaurant offered a warm atmosphere and attentive service that made the dining experience even better. The presentation was thoughtful, portions were generous, and the flavors tasted authentic and carefully prepared. If you enjoy dishes with a little spice and a lot of flavor, the wontons in chili oil are absolutely worth ordering. I would definitely come back just for them.

When it comes to food, I never judge a burger by its bun, so thanks to Yelp for helping me find it. The sign in the window says "Asian fusion" which usually sends me running as it's often a cop-out label for bad mixed-up Asian cooking, but this is authentic y'all, meaning true-to-tradition dishes with a sometimes more contemporary application of ingredients or flavors. The "fusion" part must come from the fact that they have a small Taiwanese section as well as the main Szechuan/Sichuan menu, alongside a few familiar Chinese-American favorites like sesame chicken or broccoli x protein, so you can get that here too. Everything we ordered was phenomenal! Great flavors, generous portions, cooked with confidence and finesse. Compliments to the kitchen - they really know what they're doing. Not a single dish was lacking. They even put out peanuts at the start and serve fresh orange slices at the end of the meal. Very old school. We loved it all: * Salt & white pepper crispy chicken ("Taiwanese specialty") - well-battered and flavored, and perfectly crispy * Taiwanese minced pork rice * Chicken red curry - fabulous, with fresh vegetables and just the right balance of spice * Golden dish (fish) - very special dish in a salted duck egg yolk batter * Beef chow fun * Marinated crispy duck Wish I lived closer, but will definitely come back when we are in the area. Best of the best - very highly recommended!

I met with a friend and she enjoyed her meal (and appreciated that they modified her meal slightly to her liking, without mushrooms, too). On a side note, I didn't look ahead that it was a bring-your-own-wine type place, but I was quite ok either way. I would definitely visit again and bring someone with me to try it for the first time too. I really wish I had room to try their Tom Ka soup - I was too full to have that too though.

Somerville is an area we had never explored before, and while searching on Google, we found many good restaurant options. We finally decided to try Origin French Thai. All day it rained heavily, and by 7:30 PM it had become quite dark. Finding parking was a little difficult. Even though there is a municipal parking lot right next to the restaurant, getting a spot still took some time. One thing we really liked was the whole downtown vibe. The streets on both sides are closed for cars, and people can sit outside along the sidewalks, which gives the area a nice European-style atmosphere (though it was raining that day) We had a reservation booked already (highly recommended), and we got a comfortable couch table in the back section overlooking the restaurant. The ambience was really nice -- dim lighting with an Asian-inspired theme. They also have another seating section inside, so the place is actually bigger than it looks in some photos. We ordered: * Tom Yum Goong Soup - Easily one of the best Tom Yum soups I've ever had. After such a rainy day, it felt extra comforting and satisfying. 5/5 * Noodle Curry Shrimp - Crispy noodles soaked in gravy with shrimp pieces and a red coconut cream-based curry. Absolutely delicious. 5/5 * Red Curry Chicken - The gravy felt somewhat similar to the noodle curry dish to me, but it was still really flavorful and enjoyable. 4/5 Overall, the entire experience was wonderful. The food truly made the evening special and created a memorable birthday dinner for us. If I'm ever passing through this area again, I would definitely come back.

We also tried the spicy pepper noodle dish, which had a really nice kick without the spice overpowering everything else. The sweet potato tempura was another highlight. Overall, Roots is a great option in Princeton when you're craving Thai food, especially if you like bold flavors and a little heat. There are plenty of vegetarian-friendly choices too, which I appreciated. I'd definitely come back!

The LoMein noodles with shrip were a disappointment @ $20 per bowl. The noodles were overcooked with too much water remaining in the bowl it was served in. The shrimp was not high quality, and there were minimal vegetables in the dish. Overall, not worth the asking price. I'm not from the Princeton area which has a wealth of ethnic cuisine, but unfortunately would not be one I'd recommend.

Service was quick. Although we had plans afterwards so we were not in full optimization mode for this AYCE excursion, we ate a decent amount and did not ever feel like we were being slowed down or not helped, despite other diners in the restaurant. They have sashimi, nigiri, rolls, and a lot of other Asian sides and fares. A good variety to just having fish! I especially recommend the galbi and the yuzu if you have the room in your stomach. Otherwise, a great place AYCE that is on the pricier end, but is well worth the extra bucks here.

The inside did have a nice darker Asian themed decor to it. I got a bento box with salmon. There is a good amount of food here for the price, but most of it was overdone. Salmon was dry and overcooked, but was saved by the sauce. Sushi was decent, but nothing to write home about. Miso soup and salad are as middle of the road as it gets. Not bad for sure, but in an area flush with Asian cuisine options, it may not be my first pick.
