Thai chili house was my first introduction to Thai food in 2006, and it set the bar HIGH. It became my favorite food since that day and I've never had any as good as here after having it for 20 years. So many memories. I would come with my mom before she passed away and brought all my friends. I will always treasure the kind service of the owner who operated alone for many years. How did he do it!? Thai Chili House in Northridge is a small, no-frills spot with surprisingly good portion sizes. You definitely get a decent amount of food for what you pay, which I appreciated. That said, the dishes we tried were pretty underwhelming in terms of flavor. Everything tasted a bit flat and lacked the bold, aromatic seasoning I usually expect from Thai food. It wasn't bad, just not very exciting. Overall, it's okay if you're nearby and hungry, but the lack of flavor would probably keep me from going out of my way to come back. read more

A B !!?? I don't know how this place is rated a B. First time hearing about this place and decided to give it a try with my friends, and we were amazed. There is one guy and he took our order and made the food. Definitely worth every penny. He is a hard working man and is very polite and grateful for his customers. And the price ! everything there is priced reasonably and for 4-5 entrees and drinks only came out to 60$ and we were shocked. The guy that works here is gonna get a reality check when he's rude to the wrong person. As soon as we arrived, we checked the menu as no one was front and present and he comes out and had an attitude telling us to sit down. We weren't even pressuring him to sit us down or to attend to us and he greeted us with a fucked up attitude. He still was with his attitude taking our order when I had asked if I can get chicken and seafood on our tom yum, he was so bothered by me asking. As we were waiting, my friend notices that he is microwaving some parts of our food. We gave it the benefit of the doubt. The tom yum had a little bit of seafood and so much broth. The tom yum was okay and the crab fried rice was decent. He was nice to the guy from the tattoo shop next to him and handled his order without an attitude but had a stupid attitude with us ??? They need to honestly shut him down being rude to customers and MICROWAVING FOOD ON TOP OF THAT. This is not a place to dine AT ALL. I actually came here to try a pick up order from another eatery in this small strip mall at the junction of Nordhoff and Lindley, in Northridge. But then I saw Thai Chili House and my focus shifted and I entered this small establishment. It seemed to be a one-man operation. I ordered Prik King, but they did not have it. So, for the lunch special, I switched to Red Curry with Beef, to go. It came with a small salad, steamed rice and an egg roll. The red curry had a lot of flavor and all the beef pieces were tender and tasty. Egg roll was good too. Salad was fresh. Just a tough place to get into with very tight parking. read more

Stumbled upon this hidden gem on a lunch rush and If I'm being honest I didn't expect to taste the best drunken noodles here I almost inhaled the noodles cause the taste just hits the spot lol, This is our second time visiting and the taste doesn't change. I got the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and it was pretty good I would have to say it was a little under seasoned but it's not a problem if you add a little salt but I do like my food more salty. The service is good I believe it's only one guy working but he works hard and he does great. The ambience is very welcoming but the parking sucks lol but other than that it's super yummy. But the most suprising part of it all is the thai tea with coconut milk because I'm so used to half and half. All the portion is big and worth the price. read more

Used to live around the corner from here and would always get boba from the spot next door for years! Finally decided to try this Thai place one day and I was looking for some fried noodles or some kinda noodle that I haven't had before. I went in, not sure what to order but ended up getting the Rad-na Crispy Noodles. I guess I was expecting a very fried noodle which sounded pretty good but they ended up being exactly what the name said. Crispy. And dry. I was a little bummed, it does come with a soybean sauce that you pour over it to possibly soften it up but it just wasn't what I expected and didn't eat much of it. I'll have to try this spot again to try their other menu items like maybe some classics. Thai tea is authentic and always good tho! The only problem about this spot is that it's across from CSUN meaning limited parking and the lot itself is super tiny and almost always packed, forcing you to wait or park on the street for an hour depending on the day. Literally just inhaled all of my food I had leftovers of when I ordered from here the other day, and it was just as good as I tried it. The guy who runs this place is fire, despite being the only guy running this place atleast from whenever I came here it's always been pretty good! I usually order the pad kee mao (drunken noodles), pad thai, and kai kua noodles and ugh so good and nicely priced too in comparison to other thai restuarants who've recently raised prices the past years. Tom is the chef, host, and server, as such, if you are in a hurry, I would say ordering for take. The ambience is so so. Terrible Service. I called in a take out order. The guy couldn't hear me over the phone. He tells me 20 minutes and hangs up. He doesn't take my name or anything. I show up to pick up my order and the guy at rhe counter say "oh I forgot to make it, give me 10 minutes and I'll have it ready". I wait the 10 minutes and the guys comes out from the back with my order. There is only 1 item in the bag so I said, did you forget about the wonton? Yay! I'm a fan- 4 stars. I don't have a favorite Thai food place here in the valley but I have an all time favorite back in Washington. No Thai place has satisfied me... over powering the taste of the one back in Washington. I usually order Phad See Ew, Phad Thai or Cashew Chicken but I wanted to eat fried rice today so I can't say whether this place suits my taste or not until I try one of those three dishes. I ordered the pineapple fried rice today- thinking I would try something new. My friend and her boyfriend ordered Thai Chili Fried rice and Green Curry. I tried a shrimp from the Green Curry but I personally don't like curry. Speaking of my pineapple fried rice. did I mention how yummy it was?! I think it would have tasted better with some sriracha! I always see the condiments of different chilies and peppers but I tried the green peppers in a clear vinegar like sauce. I twas tart just how I like it! It actually went well with the fried rice. I was expecting the pineapple to be a bit sour but it was super sweet! The juices gushed into my mouth and it was delicious! :) The only disappointment... was the green onions... in fried rice I expect them to be chopped up in ringlets and go well with the fried rice but... it was chopped into... pinky size pieces.. which I did not appreciate. I am picky with vegetables and will only eat onions with some types of foods. In fried rice, I can only eat them in ringlets... I ended up eating some of the green onion... but I can tell you right now I made some faces... when I bit into some onions. The food too unusually long to prepare and cook too! Well, I haven't seen my friend in a week so we had a lot to catch up on which I won't complain today about the wait. It literally took like 15 minutes just to come out :/ From there on it was just a happy meal:) I have half saved for later tonight muahah! I can't wait to eat it:) read more
