Vermicelli with grilled beef and shrimp, salad and egg roll
    Peter M.

I have been to Saigon Brothers in Northridge, on numerous occasions. Each visit has been rewarding, one way or the other. This time, to get a carry out of their Banh Mi with grilled beef. Together with, pate, julienned cucumbers, carrots, jalapeño and other ingredients inside a split baguette is a joy to savor. Especially, if the baguette is well toasted to have a crisp but soft exterior that gives you a good crunch and a bite, at the same time. Saigon Brothers has never disappointed in this department. Their Banh Mi is a superbly freshly assembled preparation. They take good care of you while you wait for your order to be prepared. Always providing dependable, friendly and customer oriented service.

    Pork and eggroll vermicelli plate

My order was to go - and we ordered pork & eggroll vermicelli plate, eggrolls, and bo ne sizzling skillet with homemade bread. For a to go order I was quite surprised because our eggrolls still came out crunchy when we got home. The homemade bread was delicious although a little chewy maybe it's good heated or toasted. The vermicelli plate my sister had was also delicious although it wasn't my cup of tea. Place was clean, staff was so fast and directed us where to pick up our order. It's a different flavor for Vietnamese food - they put in their different twist on their flavor. Lots of seating. Lots of parking in a big plaza.

Used to order all the time but so disappointed with the servings. Ordered the beef with lemongrass vermicelli and look how little meat they gave lol

We ordered the chicken pho and the soup was tasty. The chicken though is a bit dry even when they're in the soup. The place is clean and busy on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of families with kids. Next time we want to try the rice dishes and their sandwiches. We will be back for more

Was craving some pho and my friends had suggested this spot, and they highly recommended it. I ordered the steak pho and in all honesty it was okay, I compare it to my favorite spot roughly down the street. For me personally, I thought the noodles were a little too firm for my preference. However, the food that my friends got and they absolutely loved it. The service was really good, the staff were really nice which I appreciated. The inside the restaurant had a nice aesthetic to it. Overall, I think this place was okay if you're in the area and wanting some pho

Avocado shake - light avocado flavor, not too sweet

I returned to Saigon Brothers after a really great first visit and this time the experience was a bit different. It was a busy Friday night and the team seemed understandably stretched. Service felt a little chaotic, and at one point I was handed another guest's credit card by mistake with my bill after I just started eating my bowl of pho. The avocado shake was lighter in flavor than expected and tasted more milky than avocado-forward. The pho was still good, but the portion of meat seemed smaller than what I remembered from my last visit. For around $27 for a regular size bowl of pho and a shake including tip, I wasn't sure the value was quite there this time. I know prices are going up everywhere, and the restaurant was clearly doing a big dinner rush, so maybe it was just an off night. If you're looking for a place that is less chaotic, try Khuu Bistro when you're in the mood for Vietnamese food.

Came in, quick service. servers always kind. Ordered the egg rolls (I've had before and they are always delicious. Comes with sauce, carrots, cucumbers and mint) and Grilled Pork Bahn Mi for the first time. Wow. Bread was fresh and warm. It's made in house! it was DELICIOUS. So glad I tried. The bread was so warm and fluffy but had a nice crunch on the outside. Pork is always a go to, especially for the Spring Rolls too. Do recommend the eggrolls, Pho, and now the Bahn Mi! Can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu!

Updating my review. Sadly this place has gone down. Quality and quantity of food. I came in last month to try something new. I usually always get Pho. I tried the beef bone soup. Broth was so watery and bland. Meat on the bone was rubbery and tasteless. I thought maybe it was just a bad day. Gave them a try again last week. I ordered the beef salad, and a child's plate of grilled chicken, which came with noodles or rice and an egg roll. The beef in the salad was fatty and rubbery. And a very small amount. The child plate cost $12.99! Egg roll was old, chicken had a weird old taste. Noodles were disgusting so I ordered white rice which I was charged an additional $3.00. This was a horrible expensive lesson. I also had bubble guts later on at home. Like I said, the chicken tasted weird. I won't be coming back and I no longer recommend.

Let me know if you have heard this story before, its a cold afternoon in Northridge, CA. With a air of chill and the possibility of rain in the air, your stomach lets out a faint grumble. Your hungry! What do you do? Well, that was my story after leaving church and my friends and I were looking for something warm to really warm us up. Thanks to yelp, we found Saigon Brothers. Located close to Cal State Northridge, it is perfect position for college students to warm up. But, does it live up to the hype? The interior is minimalistic with a single TV showing any local sports or news. So it gives off that family diner vibe. Yet, it was a bit empty. To me, that set off some alarm bells. Service was immediate as there were at least 6-7 people consistently making everyone feel at home. Now to test the water, I ordered my normal Beef Rib Pho. As pictured it came with 3 chunks of meat. Sampling the beef pho, warm beef broth with a touch of salty aftertaste, which in my opinion was wonderful. But the star of the show, the beef ribs. The meat was tender and the it did not fail the bone test! That to me was the highlight and delight to my meal. There was indeed a bit of disappointment that I couldn't do it again for a video. But, the meat portion was generous, tender, and flavorful. For $20 you are definitely getting your money's worth just from the broth and meat alone. I added a bit of chili oil to mine for a slight kick. Now, the real reason I am giving 5 starts is service. For a crew of 7 people who were dining, its always a problem when we pay. I don't mind using payment services to get it done, but our hosts were able to split the bill and allowed us to pay separately. which to some of us, was a life saver. Overall, not a bad place to keep in your back pocket if you want some pho. As I am not regularly in the area, I would visit again if someone mentioned it!

I came here for the first time after eating Vietnamese food for 20 years and I was unbelievably impressed with the service the cleanliness the attentiveness and the freshness of the food. The food was so fresh! I live in the valley for 10 years and I can't express you how little I'm impressed with the cuisine but this place stood out so much both of my daughter and I wanted to come back next day because it was so good. And the portions were large and the food was so reasonably priced.

Love love love Saigon Bros! Service is outstanding! Pork dumpling were a starter. They are perfectly cooked!! The taste is very good, pork well seasoned. We all ordered Pho - shrimp (#6) & filet mignon (#2). The broth was so flavorful, the beef and shrimp were tender and delicious! We also ordered an iced Matcha. It was so good! Not super sweet, and the perfect amount of milk. It's in the Vons shopping center fingers plenty of parking. This is probably the best Pho I've had in a long time! 5 stars!

Wanted some comforting food on a rainy Friday and Saigon Brothers did not disappoint! Parking was easy in the free plaza parking lot, in front of the shop. We were seated quickly without wait for an early dinner (5:30 pm) and got a booster seat for the toddler in a booth. Service was excellent for us and food came out very quickly. They had a kids menu too with options for pho or rice dishes. My child loves fat noodles like udon so we got banh canh and she loved it (not on kids menu). Their fruit teas are amazing, I loved my drink! Will definitely come back, great price and service with delicious food. The restaurant was very family friendly as seating and decoration was new and comfortable. Gets packed quickly by 7pm looks to be popular with locals and students!

I got a party tray of egg rolls (actually spring rolls) and they were a hit. The roll filling from Bun Me is also generous. It comes with mild dipping sauce. One order is 3 rolls. They pair great with the Banh mi sandwiches from here! Ofc the BM sandwiches are also great. I prefer the lemongrass chicken or pork since I want less food coloring and I love the lemongrass flavor. This team is on it! They are responsive on the phone so I always call in my order for pickup. The sandwich size is also a good filling portion. It's delicious - crunchy bahn mi style baguette packed with meat, pickled radish and carrots, cilantro, and optional jalapeño. There's also seating indoors so you can dine in and get your food right as it's prepared. I've tried a couple other menu items but my favorites are the sandwiches and fried spring rolls (the veg egg rolls are better for those who like a good basic egg roll, but the fried spring roll is what's exceptional).

The fact that you get 5 is still nice. Whenever I'm in Reseda, it's really only to go here. Trust me, it's worth the trip since this is my "go-to" Vietnamese restaurant for 23+ years. Appetizers: Egg Rolls - 9.8 / 10 Quite possibly the crispiest, crunchiest egg rolls literally anywhere on the face of this planet. These are the egg rolls by which any other egg rolls that I eat is measured by. Granted my "Filipino Card" could be revoked for saying this, but if I had to choose between these Vietnamese variants over my heritage's Lumpiang Shanghai , I would have to go with the former. Soup / Pho: #9 Pho Ga - 8.5 / 10 I usually order rare steak pho myself, but since the person whom I always go with orders this, we just split a large rather, she's nice enough to me 1/3 of her generous large. I appreciate the simplicity. A pure, clean, chicken consommé with thick, juicy slices of chicken breast. I really only ever eat chicken soup when I'm sick, but I will gladly make an exception for pho ga. Entrée: #43 Bún Nem Nu'óng Thit Nu'óng (Heo Hoac Bò) (Charbroiled Pork or Beef, Grilled Pork Ball with Vermicelli Noodles & Vegetables) - 8.9 / 10 Hot take: when I usually get Vietnamese food, I don't get Pho unless it's raining (I know, I'm weird with this weather / temperature psychological thing). That said, the #43 hits the spot every time. Do yourself a favor & get this with beef (you can choose between charbroiled beef or pork). The (sliced) pork meatball is like a nicer, meatier spam. Throw that on some chilled rice noodles & round that off with some sliced vegetables (cucumber, carrots, daikon radish) & you've got a nice variety of flavors + textures. Bonus points for always getting directly seated as soon as you walk in. Looking back, I'm glad that one of my sister's former boyfriends introduced her to this place back in 2003. One of L.A.'s best kept secrets.
