Always the best Thai in town. I've been going there for 9 years. Never disappoints. I recommend this place to everyone I know, and a lot of those people have made this place their favorite Thai spot . I always get the Thai beef salad or, drunken spaghetti with beef or chicken, yellow curry with chicken, pad Thai, pineapple curry and the curry puffs. It's very authentic. The only place in Reno we could find close to us that had papaya salad. We were hesitant since they didn't make Lao papaya salad, but it was so good. Best Thai papaya salad we've ever had! We came here a lil too late since they were closing for lunch, but they were kind enough to let us starving hungover children into their restaurant for lunch. The waitress was super friendly. Las Vegas spoils me tremendously when it comes to Thai Food. But, dang, Reno ain't so bad! I chose Thai Chili because I just happened to drive by. It looked shady, meaning either awesomeness or a recipe for food poisoning. Luckily, it skews to the former..but I digress... Food: Duck Curry- $12.95 - Huge chunks of duck, which was good and bad. It's good because you're getting your money's worth. Bad because the it overwhelmed the dish and was slightly dry. The huge wads of duck skin didn't help either -- not very visually appealing. The consisency of their curry is on the thick side, the way I like it, and flavorful. Thai Ice Tea- A small glass, but good flavor. Not watered down. Brown Rice- I love them for including this as an option. Thumbs down, however, for the fact that it's $2.00 for a tiny bowl. Service: Fast and friendly! I was literally in-and-out in 40 minutes at the height of dinner rush. Impressive! I'd like to try Thai Chili again to see if their other dishes are better (duck can be a tough one). I usually wasn't particularly a Thai fan before I moved to Reno because most Thai that I've had was way too expensive. Thai Chili has made Thai one of my favorite foods and I frequent this place way more than I should! It's not too expensive, the food arrives quickly, and I never leave disappointed. The Tom Ka Gai soup is one of my favorites and has surpassed most I've tried elsewhere, and all their entrees with coconut milk and curry are very good! You really can't beat this place for lunch. The prices are ridiculously low and the food is delicious. The pad thai was excellent, I was only slightly let down that instead of chicken, tofu and shrimp, which I was used to getting elsewhere, you only got to pick one of these three items. However, price considered, I'm not complaining. The lunch also comes with your choice of soup or salad. The soup was pretty solid, but had a lot of ginger root in it, which was a surprise when I chomped down. If your looking for a cheap, filling lunch, give this place a try. read more

I ordered pad see eew with pork, and the meal was so fragrant that I wanted to eat it on my way back to the office! Food is super good. I've had noodle dishes and rice dishes here and no matter what I pick, it ends up being really good. Service on the other hand is a hit or miss. They seem to be understaffed most of the time. If you go on an understaffed day, be prepared for long waits before you order and while waiting to get a check. read more

Good Thai food in an unexpected location. One star is subtracted for the shady location beside an adult shop and the long wait for food. There were only two people handling the crowd so any big groups choke up the order process. Over all the wait was worth it as the food was yummy. Have been wanting some Pad Thai and found this gem here on YELP. Fast service and awesome Pad Thai. I asked for a level 3 spice and it wasn't hot. The next week (yes the next week) I got a 4 and it was not spicy either. I went in last week and got level 5 and it was great.. just enough heat but not to much you can't eat it. I could actually ask for it to be a little bit more spicy but that is just me. The service is fast and friendly. It is never packed and that is fine with me. I like the decor of this restaurant, rather than some rich Thai palace, this place gives the feeling of a cozy home. The aroma of the food cooking makes you anticipate; I love the smell of pan fried cooking! The food was pretty good, however we're so used to the price and portions at Thai Chili in Elk Grove that our standards were set a little higher (and the fact that in Elk Grove you can get chicken, TOFU & SHRIMP for the same price as just chicken.) The servers wear traditional clothing and the bill is put in a nice wooden box. The menu covers are Thai sewn materials; I enjoyed the atmosphere but my rating was brought down by the pricing. I'd heard good things about this place and opted to try it for lunch. First I ordered the Tom Yum Gai Hot & Sour Soup which was good as was the curry puff. I chose the Garlic Dish for my entrée which was very good, though the carrots and broccoli it contained were overcooked. I love nothing better than a good spring roll, but Thai Chili proffered terrible ones. They were massive, but flavorless. No basil. No mint. Just a bunch of greens and noodles. The one shrimp they possessed was split in half, lengthwise to give the impression of an entire shrimp. I also ordered Thai Calamari. I was served a real disappointment. It was a frozen pre-prepared product with little flavor to its bland batter. I was expecting a house-prepared batter clinging to fresh calamari. Cool little place - everything I've tried there tastes good and authentic. I've been here a half-dozen times now. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I've never seen it packed - usually 5-6 tables worth of people. Most dishes are under $10 and they have lunch specials. The Pineapple Curry was really tasty. I've tried this place a couple of times and I have no been disappointed. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because I feel that there are better options in the same area. A big plus to this place is their huge parking lot. Their fresh rolls are good, but their pad thai is pretty bland. The food was ok! When we arrive late on Friday nite which is 9pm, the waiter seems to be rushing us out even though they close at 10pm! When they mean 10pm closing, it REALLY means the Staff leaves that time TOO!!! They had their coat on and ready to leave!!! I was trying to order delivery but was unable to do so. I went to pick up the order, the establishment looks nice. The spring rolls are HUGE, but with lots of lettuce, 2 small shrimp, and need for more mint, tomatoes, carrot, and cucumber 2/10. The curry was amazing but they were out of sticky rice (must be popular) I would like more mint in the curry as well but it is the middle of winter. The deep fried sweet potato was good. I'm one of those people who truly dislikes Bell Pepper. Young man waited on us, wife and I ordered appetizers, soup and entrees. The menu stated that one of the ingredients in my entree was green pepper...I told him that I didn't want bell peppers which he wrote down. Appetizers were great, soup was fabulous, when I got my entree, it had green peppers in it.. Now, I have to mention that the entree also had jalapenos (which I love). One of the other servers walked by, I told her that I had ordered this without bell peppers and she took the order back to the chef. She came back out and said that they were redoing the meal. I asked her if he was picking out the bell bell or recooking the meal. She said recooking. Then...and this is what lost me as a customer forever...she said, those weren't bell peppers...they were jalapenos and continued to tell me how wrong I was. I am not there to argue, I simply want my meal the way that I want my meal...I was getting angry. This went on far too long until I told her to cancel the entree and give me the check. The last thing that I want when I go out is to have somebody argue with me when I order one thing and get another. I am sure that these are nice people...the food that we did have was very, very good...but, the passive aggressive attitude of the staff isn't worth it. Thai Chili knows what spicy means, They are the only Thai Restaurant I've ordered very spicy Shrimp Pad Thai from and actually got a pretty spicy meal.
