I took a bite of my apple salad, only to look down and see a live worm/maggot actively wriggling and squirming around--incredibly agile, by the way. It was tasty, though I've definitely had better. The real standout was the side of peanut sauce 5/5. Definitely order it if you're a peanut sauce fan. Others in my group had the papaya salad and the Kinaree Pad Thai, and they both really enjoyed their meals. The only major miss was dessert. I went back to this place and this time I brought 3 friends with me to have a good and tasty dinner. We ordered $200 of food including tip, which we thought was not bad for everything that we got to try. We ordered pork jerky, fried fish with apple salad, shrimp pad thai, papaya salad, seafood tom yum, 2 servings of rice, 2 desserts, and 4 drinks. The confusing and rather disappointing thing is they brought out seafood 7 seas soup even though we ordered seafood tom yum. Instead of remaking it, the kitchen seasoned it and brought it back out and I have to say it didn't taste like the good tom yum soup I had the previous time I was there. They definitely took a shortcut in remaking that dish and it didn't come out right. We paid nearly $30 for that soup. After we informed them about the mistake with the soup, service wasn't as good anymore. For instance, one of my guests noticed that when we asked for napkins and utensils, the worker handing it to us would move her hand extremely close across my face while dropping off the utensils. I was busy talking so I didn't notice but I was told it happened at least two times. When we paid and left, the workers that night didn't bother to say goodbye or give thanks. I have not had too much Thai food in my life, but this is the best by a long shot. I had the Khao soi with braised beef and WOW WOW WOW, f%$king phenomenal. It was loaded with this super soft tender braised beef with that extra rich coconut curry broth and all of the veggie toppings. The noods were perfectly chewy and the crispy noods perfectly crisp. This is a relatively new Thai restaurant in Chino Hills that gives off a slightly elevated vibe than others around the area. Some of their dishes seem more unique, but I have yet to try them. So far I've been sticking with my staple - pad kee mao (drunken noodles). They do a great job with this dish and I've gotten it a few times already. They offer it with ground chicken, which is a plus for me since not all places have it. For what it's worth, others in my party ordered the pad see ew and shrimp fried rice, which they also enjoyed. Just a medium spice in my book. Khao Soi was beautiful but to be honest it looked better than it tasted. I subbed fried chicken for the protein. The noodle texture and was great but after awhile all I could taste was salt and onions. The chicken was delicious and tender though. Larb was really good though and exactly what I expected. As someone who dines alone a vast majority of the time, there's only so much I can try in one go. If you come with a big party, though it may be hard to find a table, especially if it's busy. We tried the Thai tea and the yuzu honey tea. We got the Yuzu honey tea last sweet, and it was so refreshing. The Thai tea was delicious and surprisingly, not as sweet as other places which definitely made me a fan. I got the drunken noodles with tofu medium spice. The tofu was cooked to absolute perfection. The medium definitely has a kick and for somebody who really loves spicy food I was pleasantly surprised that it left behind the kick it did if you don't like spicy food, you should absolutely ask for your food to be mild. My husband got the spicy red curry with chicken. He was pleasantly surprised that when the curry came out, he got a piece of chicken fully cooked that he had to cut to eat. The only thing he didn't love about the dish was that he had to cut up the piece of chicken that was given to him to eat, but otherwise he thought the curry was incredibly flavorful. A few years ago I visited Chiang Mai and have been searching ever since for Thai food that tasted as authentic as what I had there. I finally found it at Le Kinaree. The Bottom Line Up Front: A disappointing dinner experience with extremely slow service and average-tasting food at premium prices. The Backstory: My wife and I have wanted to try this place out for a while because of the rave reviews online. We love Thai food and had high hopes. Alas, we were seriously underwhelmed. The Service: Firstly, we expected there to be a long wait, as it was a crowded for a Sunday night. To our pleasant surprise, we got a table after waiting only a minute or two. Cups of water and menus came immediately thereafter. Our server was friendly and polite. Sadly, that was as good as the service was going to get. It took about 5 minutes to flag him down to put in our order. Then the REAL waiting game started... After 20 minutes of waiting and seeing others get served first even though they sat down AFTER us, I asked our server if our dishes were in the queue. He checked, came back, and apologized that there was a delay with 1 of our 3 orders, but he would have it out as soon as possible. The waiting continued. A full 10 minutes later (30 minutes after putting in our order and about 35 minutes since we first sat down!) we finally got our first dish -- and it wasn't even our appetizer. The Food: So what did we wait so long for? My order was the Khao Soi, a noodle soup in a creamy coconut curry broth and served with chicken, crispy noodles, pickled mustard greens, and other veggies for taste. Was it worth the wait? Nope. The chicken drumsticks were dry while the broth was just average at best. Plus, they placed the fried noodles directly in the broth, making it soggy and defeating the purpose of having CRISPY noodles (whereas most other Thai places I've been to place it on the side). My wife got the E-San Station, a combo plate that had BBQ chicken, papaya salad, and sticky rice. The BBQ chicken had good seasoning but the meat was also dry. The sticky rice was undercooked, with parts of it hot and sticky and other parts just warm but hard and not fully cooked. But the worst part was the papaya salad, which tasted like a weird mix of old and bland. Ironically, our appetizer -- the Cream Cheese Wontons -- came out last, approximately 40 minutes after we first sat down. The saddest part: They were not as good as the Wontons you can get at Panda Express. The Price: The real kick in the pants? The prices. The Khao Soi was $20. The E-San Station was $25. And the Wontons (of which there were only FIVE pieces) was $12 -- $2.40 each. After adding taxes and tip, our total was $70. That's definitely not worth it for below-average to average food and the excruciatingly slow service. The Setting: It's located inside a strip mall with other restaurants with sufficient, free parking. Inside, the restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated. But it's a little cramped in the front where tables are placed pretty tightly together near the entrance. Fortunately, we got a booth in the back. The Conclusion: Perhaps we came on one of their "off" nights when they had their B team working, but the end result is that we waited a painfully long time for unsatisfactory food at steep prices. read more

Tried khao soi here for the first time after seeing so many photos and videos of it--and it did not disappoint. We ordered two different proteins of the same dish because my friends and I were all eyeing this dish and really enjoyed both. The flavors reminded us of Indian cuisine in the best way; the chicken tasted similar to a rich Indian yellow curry, and the beef was incredibly tender, practically falling apart. I finally got to try Le Kinaree Thai for dinner after my brother kept telling me about it, so I decided to bring some guests for dinner here to try. The place is small, cute, and very clean, with cozy little booths that seat about four and only a few larger tables for bigger groups. We started with the shrimp donuts and crying tiger. The shrimp donuts felt like their take on shrimp cakes--nicely seasoned with a great consistency, and the plum dipping sauce was a perfect touch. The crying tiger was also pretty good. They didn't ask how we wanted the meat cooked, but it came out around medium rare to medium, which worked out fine. The spicy dipping sauce had a solid kick, though charging an extra $2 for more sauce (especially when the dish is already $30) felt unnecessary, especially since it's barely two tablespoons. For our mains, we began with the beef panang (medium spice). Flavor-wise, this dish came in strong--the spice level was perfect and the curry was amazing. But the meat was disappointing. It was mostly tendons and connective tissue, with almost no actual meat. At $25 a plate, I expect better. I personally don't mind eating it, but none of my guests could eat the "meat" at all and ended up just enjoying the curry sauce. The beef pad thai, however, was spot on. Fresh noodles, balanced savory-sweet flavor, and crisp bean sprouts that gave it a nice texture. Easily one of the highlights. The crab fried rice was good--not bad at all--but nothing really stood out flavor-wise. Adding some of the green sauce helped give it more character. Our last dish was the soft-shell crab curry, and this one was excellent. So much flavor, the egg added a great touch, and the soft-shell crab was cooked perfectly. It would've been an absolute favorite... except it didn't come with any rice. The beef panang came with rice, so naturally I expected the same for this curry dish. Instead, we had to order rice separately. I don't mind paying for rice, but the fact that it didn't come with any was confusing--especially when the dish arrived and we were just waiting for rice that never came. By the time we flagged the server and got it, the dish had already been sitting for a while. Overall, the food has a lot of potential and many dishes were genuinely delicious, but small service and menu consistency issues really got in the way of the experience. I hate leaving a review like this because the flavors are there, but the little things matter--especially when you're excited to bring guests and they end up disappointed. Came last night with my sisters for an early dinner. We were welcomed and quickly seated in a booth. (There was only one other party dining at the time). With so many dishes to choose from on the menu, we opted for the Tofu with peanut sauce, pad se ew with shrimp and the spicy shrimp fried rice, all to share-family style. All the items came out as they were prepared so everything was fresh and piping hot but..brought out at different times. We all had a little bit of each dish and it was delicious! My only complaint would be if the sauce for the tofu was on the side as well as the bed of sautéed spinach. The peanut sauce made the fried tofu soggy and mushy on top and the spinach did the same on the bottom, while the parts without it remained crisp. Also, a little more spice on everything could kick it up another notch but that's just me, I like things spicy!!! To drink, I had the Pandan sweet tea. It sure was SWEET (I had to add a little water to dilute it) but was enjoyable. We were so full we couldn't save room for dessert but they do offer a variety of house desserts. Sa wai dee kap! Sap Sap Sap! Kon Kap! This is our 2nd time here and is now our go to spot for Thai food in Chino Hills! Thank you so much for bringing authentic and delicious Thai food to Chino Hills!!! Everything is so delicious!! We tried items that we normally don't order and every dish was a hit. Highly recommend the Shrimp donut and crying tiger. Dip the shrimp donut in the green sauce from the crying tiger *chef kiss*. Pad see ew had a nice wok hay flavor too! Lao salad was my personal favorite and hit right on the nose on flavor. The restaurant is also very clean and friendly staff, feels like I was eating at my relatives house. read more

The first time my eyes starting eating before the phone could take the photos and the food was being consumed! Crying Tiger is the highlight? Only criticism is I wish they asked how I would have liked it cooked because though flavor was good, it was a bit over done for me. Classic Green Curry with a good kick to it. Got Spicy instead of mild and the spice was hot but perfect for me. Place was well lit, light entertainment and the beer was refreshing. read more
