First time for the wife and I trying out this new Thai place. We always see a good crowd inside and some outside waiting when we passed by so we decided to add them to our dinner list. We ordered a few dishes to share. We ordered the shrimp roll for appetizers. It was light and crunchy and we loved them. We also got the Karee shrimp, the curry was just right with some tender shrimp. I wished it had more shrimp.we also ordered the tilapia with chili sauce. The tilapia was fried just crunchy enough but not overcooked. I enjoyed rearing apart that fish head. I wished they had more sauce. Lastly we ordered pad see ew with chicken. This was excellent. Overall we ate everything and did not have any left over. The food was great except for a few suggestions. The service was excellent. Our server was great. I wish I would've written her name down. Minus the sweetness, the flavor profile was right, with complete flavors, nearly authentic. This restaurant is unique because they have an open kitchen, so you can see all of the Thai lady cooks wok-ing away! The staff are very friendly and attentive. I had the Penang curry with chicken and it came with rice. It was very fresh and flavorful. My girlfriend had the pad se ew with tofu with Chinese broccoli? It it was smokey and delish. So let me start by saying the food is phenomenal. Very great tasting food. I had the Pork Pad Thai and Spring Rolls. Both were VERY DELICIOUS and well made. Hot and very good portions. But the service really needs work. 1. Always bring water first. That's a given. We sat 10 minutes before we got our water. Do this before taking the order. 2. When I order an appetizer it's supposed to come out first as an appetizer not with my entree. Lol. 3. I don't know why Asian restaurants insist on bringing everyone's dinner out at separate times. We are a group of 10 that came to eat dinner together, (some came from out of town) NOT one person get her dinner then 10 minutes later someone else gets theirs, then 10 minutes later another etc. when I finally got my food my friend's was getting cold so she had to eat it fast. Great food but we just didn't have a relaxing dinner. We want to eat TOGETHER to enjoy each other's company and food. If we wanted to get our food at separate times we would just go get fast food. Maybe they were short staffed idk. But having excellent food isn't enough. Service has to be on point as well. I was a sommelier at a high end restaurant before and if service wasn't there people won't come back. These are tight times and people can go spend their money anywhere at the plethora of places to eat. Competition is fierce especially with Thai food. I had high hopes since this place has high ratings and as I wanted to try something new over the weekend, I came here for Saturday lunch. Service was mediocre and nice, however they never checked back to us how's everything after the food came. One red flag to me was when I asked for extra napkins, it was 4 of us and they only gave 2 napkins and when I asked for more, they gave 1 more. I had to let them know it's 4 of us and we all need napkins each. When we got our food, it seems in a smaller portions regarding of the price that we paid for. For $19 of pork belly and Chinese broccoli, as a main dish, when it didn't even come with a rice, I expected the portion as a main dish size, and in a dismay, it's more like in a appetizer size. Then we ordered a side of rice, for $3 and when it came, the rice wasn't even fresh. It looked like an old rice where it's in a yellow-ish color and I can tell right away it's not fresh. The tom yum soup was ok. They cut the lemongrass and it looks like small green onion and I ate it, it was like ewww, why would I eat this? Where usually other places, they cut it in a bigger size so you don't need to eat it since it's for a flavor. Not in my favor at all. The food was 3.5 stars out of five. What a hidden gem, I didn't even know this was around Chino Hills! Boat noodles- comforting and plenty of noodles and meat/meatballs. Not as perfect as the ones I've had in Thailand, but almost there ! This was slightly more salty, but I may prefer this over Vietnamese Pho . 8/10 Sweet chili chicken wings - so good and fresh! It was crispy and juicy , I can drench it in the sauce it came with 10/10 Combination fried rice- on the lighter side but very good. The ambience was great, super casual but it feels elevated by their house music. The service was efficient and friendly. The restaurant is very clean, just a tad on the quaint side so best to make a reservation especially for larger parties. I usually get a beef salad at Thai restaurants and this was the BEST I've ever had- and that's from different states! The server said that they make their own sauce in house. Very good hole in the wall spot. Hopefully this plaza gets more attention because this Thai spot is a gem. Positives: -options, they have a lot of unique Thai dishes that we have not seen or tried before, beyond your standard pad thai and fried rice. -taste, we got khao soi, crispy pork belly, and pork pad Thai. The khao soi is one of the best we've had, it's a little salty but filled with flavor and authenticity. The pork belly was a little too crispy, but the sauce it had paired with it perfectly. Came here after a seven-mile hike on the concrete paved road at the beautiful Chino Hill state park, all the dirt trails were closed due to the mandatory 48 hr post-train closure, FYI. The restaurant is about 8 min away, the sight of the breathtaking snow capped mountains followed us from the park to the parking lot at the plaza where the restaurant is, what a scenic drive! We had planned to dine at the Soup n Fresh; however, the line was so long (seriously, one block line of waiting people for a Sunday lunch, mere craziness!). Le Dee was our plan B because Thai food is always a safe option and provides comfort. We ordered the Cat fish, pork belly, tum yum seafood, and pineapple fried rice. They don't serve Mango sweet rice today so we skipped dessert. I had to say, it's probably we did not choose the right dishes, the dishes we tried were ok, very heavy on the sauces, my friend liked the cat fish, I liked the pineapple fried rice; but the tum yum soup was more tart than anything; we were both disappointed with the pork belly- deep fried, no flavor, missing the crispy skin and sizzling por belly meat, I felt sorry for the meat which talent was buried completely. This hidden gem is my new favorite local Thai restaurant! For a while, I drove to Chino to get my Thai food fix, but this place is just around the corner from me, which is an added bonus! I have been here 3 times. The first time I came here, we got the fried tilapia and glass noodle salad. Both were 5 !! So flavorful, fresh, and tasty! Second time I came I ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup and again, the glass noodle soup. When I tell you that noodle soup hit the spot- I'm telling you!! The last time I came here, I just got the Tom Yum noodle soup and wow, did I enjoy every slurp. I live around the corner and have decided to start trying all of the restaurants in the area because so many are family owned and they are pretty incredible. First off the first time I tried this place a few years ago, the food was incredible but the interior wasn't super nice which didn't really matter. However I came here recently and they completely redid the interior and it's SO BEAUTIFUL. It's actually perfect for a date night! I'll be honest I've eaten a lot of orange chicken in my lifetime but have never had orange chicken be so incredibly fresh tasting than I've had it here. Overall, the food was solid and enjoyable. The dining environment was clean and comfortable, and I appreciated the small touch of having fresh flowers on the table. In my opinion, this is one of the better-tasting Thai restaurants in the area. The food here was excellent! Delicious, authentic Thai cuisine with a variety of options that won't break the bank -- hard to find these days! They have a $14 lunch special (rice + salad + 10 different entrees with your choice of protein) from 11 am - 3 pm Monday - Friday, which we didn't take advantage of today but will definitely be coming back to try. Instead, we got three dishes to share between three people, and the portions were so generous that we even took some home! Gang Supparod Ped - a Thai pineapple red curry with roasted duck, was the first dish to come to the table and came with a side of fresh white rice. This was absolutely divine -- my personal favorite dish of the day. It was aromatic with the flavors of red chili paste, smooth and creamy, and chock full of seasoned roasted duck, tomatoes, bell pepper, and real chunks of pineapple! It also wasn't too sweet, which is something that I really appreciate. We got it in the "medium" spice, which for us wasn't spicy at all. Tom Yum Noodles - a flavorful, bold Thai noodle soup with the characteristic tanginess of lemongrass. This was the favorite of my friend, who orders Tom Yum Noodles wherever we go. The portion was absolutely generous, the biggest I've seen by far, yet the quality wasn't lacking in the slightest. It was full of 4 different varieties of fish cake, shrimp, fried wonton, peanuts, and meat; the noodles were perfectly springy without being overcooked and mushy; the flavors were deep and aromatic, with a refreshing tanginess. Definitely a must order. We got it in the level 3 spice, and would definitely go up to a 4 or 5 if you have a high spice tolerance. Crying Tiger - a very generous portion (seems to be a trend!) of steak marinated in Thai spices and seasonings. It was perfectly cooked to my liking -- a medium rare -- so if you prefer it to be cooked longer, make sure to say so! It came with a tangy, thick sauce for dipping and a side salad. Honestly I could just get this and a side of rice and I would be happy. The interior is stylish and modern, and smooth piano jazz plays on the speakers overhead, creating a calm, inviting atmosphere to spend your lunch break or have a delicious dinner with your friends or partner. The white and blue dishware and spotless silverware adds to the clean, elegant vibe. Service was attentive and accommodating: the owner was so sweet, and suggested menu items, recommended appropriate spice level, and even let us adjust the sweetness of our dishes to suit our personal taste! Ice water with lemon was brought out right away, and refilled immediately! The menu has so many options, from classic and recognizable favorites like pad thai, pad see ew, and larb, and authentic, harder-to-find dishes like E-san sausage and boat noodles, if you're looking to expand your palate. Their dessert menu is extensive, with options like roti and fried banana, which I will definitely be trying next time. Overall, I was so pleased with my meal, and so were my guests. Wow! I just found another favorite spot for Pad Thai! The noodles have the perfect sticky texture, and you can really smell that amazing wok aroma. We also tried the Honey Butter Chicken Wings. I wasn't sure if we should order them since they're more of an American fusion than an authentic Thai dish, but wow -- they were incredible!
