After having a delicious Poke Bowl in NYC. I saw Thai Corner Kitchen has added this to their menu. I ordered the Poke Bowl with tofu. There are a variety of vegetables you can pick from. It comes with rice and greens. I omitted the rice. Out came a rather small salad bowl with a sparse serving of tofu cut in minuscule pieces. Edam also was sparse and served in the pod. Everything else was also minuscule. I paid $1.50 extra for seaweed salad . The serving was so small I could not see it or taste it. Ginger dressing consisted of soy sauce and ginger. It was filling and fresh but worth the price I paid which was close to $. The fresh vegetable rolls i What to take home did not have basil leaf in them as described, and were 80% lettuce and noodles. Had a fantastic lunch here today. The sriracha spicy noodles were really tasty with just the right amount of heat. The house salad is your basic iceberg with ginger. I didn't notice til I left that they now have poke bowls. I can't wait to try them. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. read more

Upgrading my review to 5 stars, because I come to this place at least once a week. Great value here for lunch, really tasty and piping hot food. Still love the order at the counter and pick up format versus the waiter format. Really fits this type of food well. Pad Thai Tuesdays are a staple for me, but the red curry on Wednesdays is also really good, and the Sriracha noodles are good every day! read more

No flavor, dry and food was extremely spicy. I can eat spicy as my family is Caribbean and we use pepper in everything. I ordered the drunken noodles and spring rolls. They weren't the regular square flat noodles. I had to go home and doctor it up. I did enjoy the spring rolls but that will be the only thing I ordered from this spot. Was not worth $20. I also tried to buy extra sauce as drunken noodles don't come with side sauce. I asked to purchase peanut sauce and they did not have any available. Never been to a Thai restaurant that didn't have peanut sauce. read more

This was our first experience with the 'Thai Corner Kitchen' and we ordered panang curry, pad thai and pineapple fried rice for take out. Used their website to place the order and schedule a pick up time - very convenient. Service was great, meal was ready on time and hot. The food was decent, it just seemed like the flavors were intentionally toned down and as a result, I was left more than a little disappointed. The biggest let down was the curry. Portion was small, the sauce was excessively thick and it lacked the flavors I was expecting. I will be trying a different restaurant next time I have a craving for Thai food. read more

Had the Massamon Curry Chicken. Pleasantly surprised. While I prefer sweet potatoes over white potatoes in this dish, it was still rich and yummy. The chicken was tender and tasty. Had lunch here recently, it was the first time I'd ever been here. I had the drunken noodles and the steamed dumplings. My food was really good, the drunken noodles had a 2 star spiciness rating on the menu, but there really wasn't much heat to it at all, there were a few jalapeño slices and red pepper flakes scattered about the dish, I would have like a little more of that, I added some of the red sauce that was on the table to kick up the heat a bit. The portion was large and noodles were very good. The guy behind the counter came out to make sure everything was ok, he recommended I try the siracha spicy noodles next time if I like spicy, he said it's pretty much drunken noodle with siracha sauce added while cooking. Will not be coming here ever again. On my previous visit got the Tuesday lunch special, which is pad Thai. I asked for veggie /tofu one. It was all tofu and no vegetables and bunch of noodles. Quantity was plenty and came with drink and salad for 7 bucks. But the idea of it not having any other vegetables or color in tofu pad Thai, doesn't seem right. If I would have asked chicken would I have got only chicken and noodles and no other vegetables in it? I wonder. I decided to go again for red curry lunch special. This time I asked for just vegetables no tofu. I got charged more and was not provided with drink or salad. I was told no substitutions. The lunch special is only good for chicken red curry. Isn't chicken red curry minus chicken pretty much vegetarian red curry? For asking for less food I got charged more money and no drink and salad. When argued, I was told no substitution is a policy, mind you it's not written anywhere. I didn't ask for premium meats. I just asked for vegetables which cost less than chicken. Oh well. First time at This restaurant. Not bad, a lot of food for the money. Got the dinner portions, and it's easily enough for about 3 meals. Not the best Pad Thai I've ever had, but not the worst either. Staff was very friendly. Family owned and operated which is always nice. Food came out very hot and remained hot even on the 14 mile trip home. I had Pad Thai, wife had Pad see ew. Both enjoyed it. Very disappointing. Pineapple fried rice with chicken was not even close. Chicken was boiled/bland. Pineapple was most likely canned not fresh. Red curry with chicken tasted nothing like curry I've ever had either in USA or in Thailand. Again with bland boiled chicken. Restaurant was hot and muggy. Should have gone with Thai Square! But decided to give Thai corner kitchen another try. I ordered the dinner size red curry with chicken hot. I get it home and realize it's the same size a lunch portion. I called to ask what was the difference between lunch and dinner. I was told lunch had less chicken than dinner. My dinner portion had maybe 5 pieces of chicken but had at least 20 pieces of shoots and sliced jalapeños. Last I checked Thai food uses Thai peppers not jalapeños . This place is ok, but not really impressive. It's more fast-food Thai than anything, but (at least for dinner) isn't much cheaper than an upscale Thai place. The service is polite, but it's nothing beyond ordering at the counter and then calling your name when your food is ready. The food is served on disposable paper plates. I had the drunken noodle, which came with a house salad. The salad was just iceberg lettuce with two chunks of tomato and a dollop of ginger dressing. The dressing had good flavor, but it looked pretty unappetizing before being mixed in with the lettuce. The salad was tiny and nothing really special. The drunken noodles had good taste but were really oily. But my biggest problem was with the ground chicken in the dish. It had a really strange texture--kind of mealy and gritty, with hard chunks, as if the cartilage and tendons and pieces of bone had been ground up with everything else. It was fully cooked, so I'm not worried about safety; it was just unappetizing. The rest of the dish was overwhelmed by jalapeño and iceberg lettuce. There were tons of green pepper chunks, which had a slightly bitter taste (not their fault--it's to be expected of peppers this time of year), and a few tiny red bell pepper chunks, which were much tastier. This can possibly be one of the best Thai street food places - since their grand mother or owner overseas the cooking and she when it comes to cooking authentic is dead on like the streets of Bangkok. Their problem: 1. Use of Jalepenos peppers versus Thai chili peppers 2. Western Vegetables vs Asian (peppers, broccoli, canned bamboo) 3. Boiled Chicken and Beef - this they do for speed ...and hence a MAJOR flavor leak Try their food without any meat and the flavor is outstanding ...it's the boiled flavorless meat that messes up their dishes. Google Thai street food and you will see their service is faster while still using fresh chicken and not boiled or from the can. read more

We ordered three appetizers and two entrees, and all -- all -- were just barely edible. Frying oil should have been changed two weeks ago, and one appetizer appeared a few days old. Unbelievable flavors, the best Thai/asian cuisine in G'boro if not all of NC! The krispy kapow is Not on the regular menu, but order it by name!!
