    Chicken Pad Thai
    Patrick T.

This place has escaped me for years because they only open during the lunch hours of 11am - 3 pm Tuesday - Saturday. But I made it finally! I had already had lunch but I passed by and said I had to come here. I order a couple things in hopes of seeing what the deal was about this place. I ordered the Pad Thai and Chicken Satay. Honestly, I'm more a Pad Se Ew lover but I decided Pad Thai was the way to go today but it was very good and the amount fed me for 2 meals. It was full of the right traditional flavor. Lots of chicken and noodles. The chicken satay was flavorful and tender. I would definitely be back to try another dish or two. I would say worth the price as you get a good amount.

I have another recommended choice for those who want to experience the vibrant flavors of Thai cuisine. Thai Country Restaurant in Clovis is renowned for its flavorful Thai, Laotian, and Chinese dishes, with excellent food quality. Patrons of this popular lunch spot rave about the pad thai, drunken noodle, Mongolian beef, chicken satay, and Thai curry dishes. I can attest to the freshness, vibrant colors, and complex flavors of Thai food, as represented in the dishes I have tried, along with a couple of Chinese dishes. The chicken satay was flavorful, tender, perfectly grilled, and served with a dilled cucumber salad and a rich, creamy peanut sauce. The satay had an amazing aroma and was plump and juicy. The pad prik king with beef featured green beans perfectly stir-fried with a spicy red curry paste and tender, flavorful beef flank steak. The half entree to-go is served over jasmine rice to balance the bold flavors of the curry and meat. The cashew chicken, a staple at many Chinese-American restaurants, is stir-fried with onions, peppers, and carrots in a savory sauce made from a combination of soy sauce and oyster sauce. The blend of sauces offered a combination of saltiness, complex savoriness, and subtle sweetness notes, which enhanced the overall taste of the dish. I enjoyed its rich and complex savoriness marinated into the tender chicken slices, cashews, chilis, and vegetables. Another Chinese-American dish was the sweet and sour chicken. The dish features a crunchy pan-fried chicken coated with a sweet and sour sauce. I loved the crunchiness of the chicken and the lightly sweetened, tangy sauce. The Mongolian Beef is tender slices of flank steak, stir-fried with scallions and onions in a savory brown sauce. I enjoyed the array of colors and flavors, the tenderness of the beef, and the use of Sai Fun (crispy bean thread stir-fry noodles), which was liberally topped and stir-fried with the dish. All half dishes, combination plates, and lunch specials are served with jasmine rice. Main dishes are served a la carte. A big thumbs up for the presentation of the dishes and friendly, attentive service. The serving portions were generous. The consistency of flavors and the quality of the dishes warrant another visit soon. I will have to try more dishes before I can determine if I have a new favorite lunch spot for Thai food in Clovis. The array of lunch specials is very enticing, and I look forward to coming back and trying any number of them. Closed on Sunday and Monday. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

When it comes to the BEST panang curry/rice chicken curry, this place is the best, no question! By far this place have been holding it's name and the first for having the best thai curry in town. And yes, I'm back for the curry. RED CURRY : Their's protein option; pork, chicken, beef, and tofu. Today I order pork red curry. The red curry is slightly spicy and a bit more oily. The balance of the herbs, paste, spices and coconut cream was perfect. The taste is creamy, sweet, salty and spicy. The lemon grass, lemon leaves and basil enhances the aroma and taste palate. The pork was perfect and very tender. SERVICE : They are always busy. Though, they are still great at giving the best service and attend to all of the guest. Sadly that sometime ordering through the phone is a bit hard because if they are on the phone with someone else, the line will cut you off. The wait time is approx. 30 min long for waiting in line or order take out. AMBIANCE : This place is very small and it's always pack. Sometime it's hard to stand in there or sit in there. All of the seats are very close to each other. The noise level is high. And yes, it sounds very busy here. OVERALL : I suggest plan ahead if you want to order or dine in. This place is always crowded. Majority of their menu are awesome to taste. I recommend it to anyone who wants some thai food. CONS : Their menu is a bit pricy.

Hands down, this is the best Thai place in the Central Valley! The only downside to this restaurant is that its hours are limited to 11-3pm. Be sure to come before noon, or be ready to wait a bit for a table. I love their combination plates because the quantity of food is enough for two people (or two meals for one person if you want to pack a to-go box). My favorite protein to get with their entrees is the fried tofu. My go-to order is the pad Thai & panang curry combination ($16).

Dropped a star due to them not serving food in order. Very similar to a previous post, we watched others that came in behind us got their food first. Ours was a 40 mins wait and the waitress said, "your food is coming."

This place was jamming... cute restaurant with the kindest staff! The food was absolutely amazing! Only open for lunch, and be sure not to miss it. I am not kidding this is the best thai food I have ever had. And I've had a lot! I'm from Bakersfield and I will be driving to have it again!

Dry tasteless cardboard chicken... lacking flavor or depth.. don't get excited for the garlic chicken!
    Greg S.

The service here is wonderful. They all are doing a good job. However, the Food disappointed... Yes, they use much more chicken in their dishes, and it sure plays well in the pictures! But what if that chicken actually didn't have any flavor, was plain, not seasoned at all and is cardboard like? What if the other dishes I ordered also lacked flavors in comparison to other Thai restaurants, or they went really cheap on the pad Thai sauce? What if the Thai dumplings were dry, lacking moisture, had a hard texture and actually just didn't even taste good? I don't have any desire to return to this restaurant and will stick with my favorite, Pad Thai on Shaw. Everything there is tasty, has robust flavors, even their most humble food item is packed with flavors! This place isn't even close... My experiment on Herndon is over! I'm returning to Shaw Ave to live out the rest of my days in TASTY, JUICY, FLAVORFUL satisfaction! -G

Joining the Thai Country fan club real quick. I've heard such great things about this place and it's been on my Fresno food bucket list and it did not disappoint! Their hours are limited and they are only open for lunch so I was worried about snagging a seat, but it definitely wasn't a problem! I came in with a group of 4 around 11:20ish on a Saturday and there were still plenty of tables!!! I think we got lucky though because it got busy shortly after so it's all about timing. THE FOOD/DRINKS: 〰 Pad Thai (4.5/5): This pad thai was BOMB. Perfectly savory and umami. I like my pad thai a little sweeter BUT that's just a personal preference and regardless this still tasted goooood. Gobbled this up like nobody's business! 〰 Thai Tea (5/5): I haven't met a thai tea i didn't like and this is definitely not an exception! Refreshing and not overly sweet. Perfect compliment to the meal. 〰 Panang Curry (5/5): Sooooo comforting and delicious. I would definitely get this again. The menu warns this dish is spicy but I don't think it's that spicy!!! I can only imagine how much this dish would be elevated with increased spice! However, at base level, this is YUM! Food aside, I would give this place 5 stars for service alone. I kid you not, we ordered and food came out in less than 8 minutes. My sister was even like, "I didn't have time to process that the menu was taken away and the food is here!". They were QUICK! And the food was still so quality. They don't mess around here. I get why people love this place so much. I wish they were open for dinner as well :'( I'd love to come here again and try out their other dishes too!!!

However, the dude (he was the only one on service while I was there) had accidentally rung it up as 2 pad thais and an iced tea. He got the correct order rung up right away and I could tell that he felt really bad about it. I wasn't too bummed. Mistakes happen, I wasn't in a rush, and now it'll definitely be fresh! I took a seat to the side to wait. The staff dude came over frequently (maybe 4 or 5 times?) to update me on timing and apologize again. It was ~7pm or so so there weren't many people there, but the smells from the kitchen were delicious. He ended up giving me the pad thais and iced tea on the house! The one dish we could agree was good was my sons, otherwise this might be a 2 star review. But let me set up the stage. We've been going all day. 2 of us haven't eaten all day, and it's 3:00 pm. We're very hungry! And my wife has a headache that she is trying to brave for the sake of our daughter. She just promoted to high school a few minutes early, and really, it's her fault we are here. She wanted fried rice and this is what Yelp told us was a good place to eat. We walk in and while it's cooler than the 98 degrees outside, but it doesn't feel relieving. I later saw that the temperature was set to 85 degrees. The menu is pretty straightforward. I'm split between the beef salad, the laab and the Thai salad. I really like laab but only when it comes with sticky rice. Beef salad is one of my favorite dishes and it's really filling. But it has to be done right! The authentic spots usually get it right. The bourgeois restaurants usually get it wrong. I'm getting good vibes from Thai Season so I give it a go. Everyone else gets orange chicken, fried rice and garlic chicken with pad Thai. My daughter complained that her pork fried rice had huge chunks of broccoli and onion in it, but she still liked it. My wife felt her chow mein wasn't very good. I thought it was bland, but she liked her fried rice. My youngest liked his orange chicken and fried rice. My wife and I felt the orange chicken was just OK. Panda has better to be honest. My beef salad was just OK. Possibly the laziest way I've had it was with Italian dressing. 2 different restaurants for that too me. The way I like it, and the way I make mine, is with a homemade citrusy dressing. I could not pin the reason why this one failed, other than it tasted watered down. Hands down though, we all felt my sons garlic chicken and pad Thai was the best dish by far. I almost gave this 3 stars until I remembered I paid $92. Maybe I need to stay out of Clovis. Apparently they like bland food If there was one thing I liked, they serve everything in ready to go boxes.

The Pad Thai and Pad Kra Pow (grounded meat with Thai basil) are easily the most popular dishes, but I have also had the chance to try other dishes like Khao Kha Mu (braised pork) and Khao Man Gai (boiled chicken with ginger garlic rice). The Khao Man Gai is essentially a Thai interpretation of the Chinese dish, Hainan Chicken Rice. None of the dishes have truly impressed me so far but I appreciate they have not been very oily and overly seasoned. The dishes are a healthier, cleaner-tasting version of some of the dishes you can expect at most local dine-in restaurants. I found this place on instagram and knew I just HAD to try it. Located across the street from Enzo's Table, this beautiful and colorful truck is so easy to spot! There is tons of parking. They have cute red stools to sit on as you wait for your order or to eat there. The food didn't take too long to make - it took about 10-15 minutes tops! You can also order ahead online on their website. Their menu indicates that most of their food items are gluten free and can be made vegan! Everything on the menu sounded so delicious, I wish I could've gotten everything on the menu. They offer a ton of Thai dishes, drinks, and desserts! Their spice levels for their entrees can vary from no spice to "Thai hot". The woman who helped me was so incredibly friendly and helpful. I love spicy food but I figured for the sake of my stomach (and because I didn't bring tums) I'd ask how spicy their hot spice level was and she said it was very spicy. I opted to get my dishes at the medium spice level, just in case, but she offered for dry spice on the side that I could add to the dish so I can control the spice on my own and add it where I see fit - which was such a sweet suggestion! Now for the food: 〰 Pad Thai (1000/10): DELISH. You can choose to get it as is, but there's an option to choose chicken OR prawns for an extra cost. I opted for chicken! This pad thai rocked my socks off. The pad thai was so flavorful, I think next time I would even get it plain! I love pad thai and this is definitely one of my favorite pad thais I've ever had. Would definitelyyyy get this again. 〰 Pad Kra Pow (10/10): SO FREAKING FLAVORFUL! This dish did not disappoint. I got it with chicken and man, oh man, does this hit the spot. You can add a fried egg for $2 and it was cooked to perfection. Adding the egg really adds an extra oomph. I got this medium spice, but next time I would definitely get this at their hot spice level. 〰 Moo Sam Chan Tod (10/10): Deep fried pork belly - some of the best 4 words you could put together. The pork was fried to perfection. It comes with your choice of steamed or sticky rice and I definitely recommend the sticky rice! The signature spicy sauce that comes with it? SO FIRE! It really makes the dish. I could not be happier with my experience here. Good food and good service. I'm already planning my next visit to try more of their dishes and even their drinks!

Went on a mission trying all the Pho I could in Fresno over the last year. I decided this place is…read moremy favorite. The soup is delicious, noodles aren't "dirty", and the meat does not have excessive fat like many of the other places I have gone too. The service is good and the menu is easy to understand. The restroom was clean, the restaurant itself is clean but a bit small for the amount of customers they have. Nothing beats a window seat on a rainy day at this location!

Every single visit has been amazing, but what keeps me coming back is their pho... it is hands down…read moreone of the most perfect broths I've ever had. You can taste the depth, richness, and care that goes into it. It's incredibly flavorful without being overpowering, comforting without feeling heavy, and perfectly balanced every single time. Seriously, this is the kind of pho you crave constantly after trying it once. Their pork belly banh mi is honestly my favorite in the world!!! The pork belly is perfectly tender with just the right amount of crispiness, the bread is fresh and crunchy, and all the flavors come together perfectly. I've tried banh mi from so many places and nothing compares to this one. The dipping sauce ! Are you kidding me?!! And the ban xeo? Absolutely to die for. Crispy, savory, packed with flavor, and paired with fresh herbs and dipping sauce that take it to another level. Every bite is perfection. On top of the incredible food, the atmosphere is modern, welcoming, and comfortable. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of. The owner walks around and greets all the guests, like who does that! They make you feel like family. They also have a full bar, which is such a great bonus, and their lychee drink is my personal favorite! It's refreshing, delicious, and the perfect pairing with the meal. Phoever is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the Fresno area and I recommend it to everyone I know.
