    (L) Tom Yum Kai Noodle Soup
    Stephanie A.

Came in for a quick soup for this cold and this was the perfect place for it! Service was friendly and attentive. My Thai tea was perfect and so was my iced water. I got the Tom yum chicken noodle soup and it was a hearty serving it came with a side salad. Everything was yummy in both dishes, only down fall for me would be that I cannot request it spicy. Yes they give you chili paste, powder and pickled chili but none of it was spicy enough. That's just a personal preference but the soup alone was so flavorful and full of noodles and mushrooms. I could not have asked for more perfect serving of soup lol I appreciate the specials, a lovely place to dine in solo or with some friends.

We came on a Saturday for a late lunch and were surprised how they offer lunch specials even on weekends. Their food is very well priced and the portions are fair. My favorite dish was the Sweet and Sour Fish, it very good with the rice. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the AC was blasting on a warm day. ig: @cravingswithcat

I arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes before opening and noticed the receptionist cleaning the glass and wiping the outdoor patio getting things ready for customers. She was friendly and waved from the inside. Once I came in, I seated at the outdoor patio where I requested. I was greeted by the waitress, who took my order in a great timely manner, and enjoyed the beautiful ambience of the outdoor patio while I waited for my food. The Thai tea was absolutely delicious. My food was extremely fresh and cooked perfectly. I enjoyed my afternoon in the beautiful environment and friendly staff. Thank you for having me and I'll be back soon.

Consistently tasty thai food. The chicken ginger salad which is a version of nam sod was great as was the angel wings.

It has been years since I've been to Thai Dishes Manhattan Beach but today I made it back to this spot. I've always been a fan of their lunch specials and I was curious to see how it is years later. Their lunch specials now is what they call "Street Food Lunch." They've got 20 different items for $15.95 to choose from and each dish comes with their house salad with sesame dressing. This lunch special is served until 2pm daily. I was impressed with the variety that the Street Food Lunch menu offered. I love how they had some classic favorites as well as unique dishes that aren't commonly found. They had House Noodle Soup, Ba Mee Hung, BBQ Roasted Duck, Mint Leaves with Ground Chicken, Cashew Nut Chicken, Kao Pao Crispy Pork Belly, Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork Belly, Pad Thai Noodles with Shrimp and Chicken, Ba Raan Noodle Soup, Kao Soi Chicken, Mixed Vegetable, Garlic Pepper Pork, Spicy Eggplant Tofu, Spicy Fried Rice Chicken, Tom Yum Kai Noodle Soup, Pad Kee Mow Chicken, Pad See You Noodle with Beef and Chinese Broccoli, Kang Karee Chicken, Kang Pad Beef and Green Curry Shrimp. Certain dishes you could substitute protein for an extra $1 or add egg for $2. I was actually pleasantly surprised that several of the dishes already included egg. It was hard to choose from the good variety of items but my friend and I chose to get their Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork Belly and their Kao Soi Chicken. The Kao Soi Chicken was beautifully plated. It came with a tall stand of fried egg noodles on top of coconut curry broth with chicken, egg noodle, onions and pickled package. The Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork Belly came with lots of pork belly with stir fried Chinese Broccoli and sides of white rice and fried egg. Both dishes were delicious! I loved the creamy, rich coconut curry curry broth from the Kao Soi Noodle. There was lots of tender chicken in the soup and it paired well with the egg noodles I also tried my friend's dish and appreciated the crisp pork belly and flavorful Chinese Broccoli. The Thai flavors were on point! I definitely want to come back and try more of their Thai Street Food. I enjoyed lunch here very much. Not only were the entrees flavorful, they were also large in size. I even had enough for dinner. I am excited to try their other dishes like the Tom Yum Kai Noodle Soup and the Kang Karee Chicken.

Unfortunately, one of the least palatable Thai food places I've eaten. I was so excited to try it as I saw some good ratings. I LOVE pad see ew ("Pad See You") and I've always thought this dish, while not easy to master, as difficult to mess up -- I was wrong. Additionally the vegetable egg rolls were tasteless. I don't know, but key Thai flavors were missing to me. Two stars simply for flavor. It was very Manhattan Beach Thai food.

The Green Curry Shrimp and Bo Raan Noodle Soup were excellent. Both are comforting and vibrant dishes with just the right amount of spice. Thai Iced Tea and Thai Iced Coffee were great too.

Food was good. I would come back for green mango salad for sure! Gave 4 stars bcuz they messed up on my to-go order but they said they would credit me for my next visit. I'll update here when I come back. Loved the ambiance

I've been going to this place for over 14 years. I tried their Pad Thai early on and was not impressed. Yesterday, I decided to give it another chance in hopes they improved their recipe. It turns out that they did! I remember it being dry and tasteless (which explains that nearly 14 years of avoiding it). This one, as my picture shows, had flavor and came with a generous portion as part of their lunch special. I'm not sure I'd get this regularly because their other dishes (especially their Pad See Ew) are more my style, but I'm glad I can come here whenever I'm looking for some good Pad Thai in the area.

If you're looking for delicious and affordable Thai cuisine, Thai Dishes is a fantastic choice. We stopped by for lunch on a weekday, and the place was bustling--always a good sign! The easiest way to navigate the menu was through their Street Food Lunch Specials, which offer a variety of classic Thai dishes. I opted for the Kra Pao Crispy Pork Belly, which came served over rice with a fried egg. The crispy pork belly paired perfectly with the bold, spicy garlic sauce, and the mix of onions, bell peppers, green beans, and Thai basil gave it a fresh and flavorful kick. My friend went for the Spicy Fried Rice with Chicken, which had just the right amount of heat and was packed with great texture and taste. This place continues to be a favorite hang out place for the nearby office crowd. I plan to try some of the drinks on the menu next time.

Came for an early dinner on a Saturday and had a pleasant experience. We were seated upon arrival and enjoyed their outdoor seating. It was a tad bit chilly, but they do have heat lamps. Good menu selection and flavorful food. They were also very attentive and made sure to check in with us during our meal. I ordered shrimp pad thai - very flavorful, extra saucy, and was delicious. A tad bit overpriced for the amount of food that you get, but still enjoyed our meal.

Overall, the food here is really good! The Kao soi was delicious! The egg noodle had a nice firm texture and soaked in the flavors of the curry broth. Also, the fried rice was flavorful and tasty. I love spice and spicynesss-wise it is not very spicy. Sadly, the pad Thai was lackluster. It was very light in flavor with little to no spice. Would not recommend it. Service here is great. Food came out in less than 10 minutes during lunch happy hour. Plenty of indoor seating as well. Parking is somewhat limited but nearby neighborhood parking is available.

We started with the ceviche in Clamato with pieces of crab and avocado served with a delicious tortilla chips. I absolutely loved the flavor profile and couldn't get enough of the Clamato sauce. Then we moved to the weekend only special sea urchin, which Stephanie's parents personally bring down from Santa Barbara for weekend service. I'm usually indifferent at best to sea urchin, but this was excellent Then we shared the Jonah Crab Fusilli, another winner. I was driving, but hubby ordered a banhattan and it was another winner. They also have some beer and wine options as well as a full bar. Though very full by this point, just couldn't resist the pretzel bread pudding. The bread portion was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside with a delicious salty caramel sauce. Served with a very smooth and delectable scoop of ice cream. There's indoor and outdoor seating. If you want to sit inside best to make a reservation. We did not have reservations, but were lucky to get outside seating. Service was fluid with different people coming around to ensure everything was tidy. Really enjoyed one of the staff, a young girl who cleared our table and delivered some of the dishes. Loved her chill surferish vibes.

Definitely suited our sensibilities to be close to the heart of this treasure, plus it can get cold out there! When our friendly and helpful server learned that we'd never been to FwD before, we were both treated a tasty amuse, a Peruvian scallop, one of their specialties. Served chilled, absolute heaven. Simple, fresh, delicious, and very pretty atop its shell. We ordered an appetizer, a different scallop dish, Pan Seared Diver Scallops. (Parsnip-potato puree, brown butter ponzu, capers). So good. Succulent, perfectly cooked and devilishly satisfying with its rich, savory flavor. We enjoyed the one dish that have been on their menu since the beginning, Koshihikari Rice. (short-grain Japanese rice, overnight chicken dashi, shrimp, uni, blue crab, cage-free egg yolk.) Wow. So much happening here, and yet it's a complete package. All the ingredients meld together sumptuously. It akin to Paella, or perhaps to a stuffed Risotto, although the Koshihikari Rice was very much its own dish. The server swerved and mixed the egg yolk on our plate, and we loved it. Our strategy to try a number of dishes and yet still have room for dessert worked. Many great choices, and I doubt we'd be disappointed with anything. However, we had heard from the table next to use that the key-lime pie was must. Happily, they were right. This Key Lime Pie is just sweet and just tart enough. Though I am not Key Lime Pie expert, this one struck me as imaginative with its meringue colony crowding the pie's surface for additional dessert debauchery. There nothing overwhelmingly citrusy about it, and it was light enough to help you feel satisfied and just right. The coffee was good, too. This is a low-key yet lovely dining experience in Manhattan Beach.

Our server was very attentive, kind, patient, and accommodating. For example, when my sister in law asked if there was a kid's menu for her children, the server politely stated that they didn't have one. However, he immediately picked up on the fact that these kids were highly fussy and picky eaters, and offered up buttered noodles, something that was not on the menu. The kids ended up loving this. I, on the other hand, was disappointed with most of the food I had. If I had to rate the food, it would be 3 stars. I ordered the MB Post Burger, which comes with a 1/2 pound grilled patty, American Cheese, applewood bacon, and honey chipotle aioli, between English muffin buns. I added a sunny side up egg to it for an extra few bucks. The burger was messy, and difficult to eat. Ended up having to eat it with a fork and knife. I expected the egg to be a bit runny, but it was cooked all the way through. All in all, it wasn't enjoyable to eat. The crispy fries were not any better. To me, they tasted overly fried. The only thing I thought was exceptional was the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuit with the whipped honey butter. It was buttery and crispy goodness. This item alone is worth coming back to this restaurant. Overall, this place is a solid 4 star restaurant. If you're planning on visiting this place, I have to warn you that parking may be a real pain to find since the area is very popular with beach goers. Things were exacerbated over the weekend due to a volleyball tournament. Had to drive around for like 30 minutes to find parking.

To our surprise, we found this "new" place, The Second Wind. The menu looked enticing and the lunch specials really looked like a great deal. So we decided we needed to come back for lunch and soon. A week later, we returned. Parking is very easy in the free lot for the complex. The interior design is energenic, vivrant with amazing looking Asian inspired pop art. Very cool interior. You can be seated and served or order to go. They have a combination lunch special, two items for $15.99. But, many of those items have an up charge if you add a protien. Either way, in these times, $16 for two items is reasonable. Our server greeted us quickly and let us choose the table of our liking. There are a handful of booths and open tables. My wife ordered the Beef Bulgogi and the Eggplant. I ordered the Chicken Dumplings and the Garlic Noodle (adding chicken for $2 more). The portions are generous. Light eaters might be able to just order one two dish combo and share. The Beef Bulgogi was good but the veggies looked a bit dehydrated. The Eggplant was just okay. The Chicken Dumplings were very tasty but served cool. I ordered them steamed and expected them to be warm at least. The Garlic Noodles with chicken was the biggest disappointment. To me, and my wife, over cooked with crunchy pieces. The chicken was also over cooked, dry and tough. When our server asked how things were, I mentioned it. He didn't seem surprised. I asked if the noodles were always dry and he said yes. He offered to bring more sauce, which he did. I added it but it didn't make the chicken any better. In the end, I left 90% of it. They only have cans of sodas so no refills but they are attached to a tea house that serves a great selection of teas, bobo, etc. There was some good things but more not, overall, we were disappointed. Honestly, I was a bit surprised they didn't offer to replace my dish or offer a small discount. They could see the pile of food I left. Anyway... Hopefully your experience and food preparation will be better than ours and...enjoy!!!
