707 PCH Redondo Beach

An All-Time Favorite - 20 Years and Still Amazing! I've been coming to Thai Dishes at 707 Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach for over 20 years, and it continues to be one of my absolute favorite spots. The food is consistently delicious, the prices are very reasonable, and the hospitality is unmatched. The garlic pepper chicken over white rice with extra sauce is my go-to order--packed with flavor and always cooked to perfection. Every dish I've tried here over the years has been fantastic. What truly sets this place apart is the owner's warmth and friendliness. They treat you like family the moment you walk through the door. That kind of genuine care and connection is rare these days, and it's a big part of why I keep coming back. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by Thai Dishes. I make it a point to eat here every time I'm in town, and I can't recommend it highly enough!

A little hole in the wall that is a true gem! I was so close to not going into this restaurant at first. In the beginning; I struggled finding where the restaurant parking was until I figured out it shared the parking lot with a motel on the same lot. Secondly; it looked empty and I doubted whether it would be a good place to dine in. I'm so, so glad that I decided to give this spot a shot because I found a hidden gem! I came during lunch on a Friday. During the weekdays from Monday to Friday; they have lunch specials. I was so surprised to find their lunch specials at $9.95! This includes chicken, pork and beef dishes and comes with soup, an egg roll and rice. Fried rice is an extra $1. This lunch special is quite the deal! It's well worth the value and taste wise the food was pretty good. We tried the Green Curry with chicken as well as the Cashew Chicken. We got it mild though I have to say the Green Curry had quite the kick to it even with mild flavor. It loved how "saucy" the curry was. It was perfect over the white rice. The Cashew Chicken was also tasty and had a good share of cashews. I enjoyed the lunch specials so much that I ended up getting some Glass Noodles with beef to go for dinner. It was also a really delicious dish. Looks can definitely be deceiving and I never expected this small hole in the wall would be such a great place for Thai food. I will definitely be back and I'm already thinking this will be a new favorite place of mine for tasty and affordable Thai food.

Prik King aka Spicy green beans

Ordered my usual Thai dish which is spicy green beans over egg which is not in their menu. The owner named Willy was so kind enough to go out of their way to create this delicious meal! The service was top notch, food came out right away. A relaxing atmosphere to dine in.

Chilled sake. The blue thing is a cut out that has an ice cube in it.

Went here a few weeks ago with my husband and some friends. Soundtrack was almost strictly Backstreet Boys which was um, interesting. We started with some drinks which came in kind of unique containers (see pics). My friend got a sake that had a little cut out to put ice so the ice isn't in the drink itself. My husband's Thai mojito came in a teacup/bowl type thing that he had to sort of bend down to drink. Kind of awkward. We ordered some spring rolls and dumplings for the table. They cut the spring rolls in half and plated them nicely - made it easier for us to split them, which we really appreciated. Those were good as were the pork dumplings. For dinner, I think I ordered a green curry (the menu online doesn't give as many details as in person). Portion was good and came with a decent size side of rice. However, why do all Thai restaurants insist on oddly shaped bowls that make it hard to eat out of/not spill/add rice to? Anyway, I was happy with my dinner and the portion size - I don't think I even finished all the rice. Some of my friends took leftovers home with them, too. Overall a decent Thai spot, prices were pretty standard. No surprises! Backstreet's Back! Alright!

Terrible service. From the owner down to the accessory staff, do better. Waited over 45 minutes for a pad thai.

When we arrived it was apparent the "chef@ was also the hostess. As a result we waited quite a while to be greeted and seated. I should note that the chef did arrive about thirty minutes later. I ordered the Waan Om Khom Kluean yellow chicken curry and my guest had the deeb Sao Thai Pad Thai with shrimp. I also ordered a Thai ice tea and the server forgot to bring it. I had to remind her after my meal was almost finished. To me the chicken curry had a terrible unappetizing presentation. It looked like shredded chicken and big lumps of potatoes. In fast that's what it was. While the taste was pretty good, the over abundance of potatoes felt like a filler for less chicken. It was a decent dish but far from one of my favorites. The Pad Thai looked a lot better. My guest said it was good, not great, and that he'd order it again. Now to the price. Nearly $70 including the two dishes, one Thai ice tea and rice. This was not fine dining. I realize they have bills to pay but it was much more than I've paid at other Thai restaurants for similar meals. All parking is on the street. One need a bit of courage to park on PCH as passing cars make it scary to open the driver's door. Cars were flying by in the 40's and 50's and it's a very unsafe parking location.

While the somewhat smaller portion of BBQ chicken was shockingly juicy and tasty, the other dishes…read moreleft much to be desired. Our larb salad was painfully salty to the point where it couldn't be enjoyed on its own and the kang kio wan curry was somehow watery and bland. Both the pork and beef were overcooked and tough. Unfortunately that the meal turned out to be such a flop, the chicken was the only thing that saved this from being a single star.

When you dine in they bring metal cups with an icy cold carafe of cold water to your table. Customer service is efficient. The person behind the counter is very soft spoken and gives you a slight smile but gets your order correct every time. Hands down so don't argue with me they have the absolute BEST orange chicken. It has a slight crunch on the outside while tender and juicy in the inside. The orange sauce is perfection. It has a great balance of salty and sweet without being overly sweet like an orange candy. It's not tart and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. They put the right amount of sauce so it is not drenched. Pair it with the garlic rice and the salad that crops and fresh no dressing is even needed. Order this and you will be happy. The regular white rice is good too! The Zapp chicken is crunchy, juicy and spicy. I normally cannot eat spicy but this one is perfect. Since my 24 year old son told me about this restaurant I've been here four times in the past month. Simply delicious!!!

The sesame soy sauce was better. Neither was the ginger green onion that I would expect at other Hainan places. Garlic rice had nice flavor. 2. Fried gyoza: Fried well. Liked the filling. Good with or without the sweet dipping sauce. Overall, both items were good and would get again but I prefer the ginger scallion sauce.

I came in later in the evening as I had just flown in and was staying nearby. This is super close to the hotel I was staying in. I was seated quickly, and my server brought me a menu. I asked about the spice level of the dish I got, and they were able to tone it down. I ordered the spicy seafood dish. My server asked if I wanted rice, and, whether white or brown, I ordered brown. Where I live, rice comes with it, and I didn't think anything of it until I got the bill and saw a $2.50 charge for the rice. I didn't even finish the rice because I thought it was part of the dish. I didn't need the rice; if I knew it was extra, I just wouldn't have ordered it. I'm not sure if that is standard on the West Coast or in this area. Other than the rice snafu, I was really happy with this restaurant. I really wanted some mango with sticky rice, especially after the table across from me got some, but I was so full. I might have to go back later today to have an order, as I absolutely love that dessert. Anyway, I enjoyed my meal and would certainly come back here in the future and I highly recommend.
