Went here on a Thursday night with my family and doggy and it was amazing! They are fully outdoor with a beautiful view of the ocean and there are heating lamps since it does get cold at night. There is lots of parking as it is located in a shopping mall. As for the service, it was wonderful; very attentive and friendly. Lastly the food was very tasty and good. I really liked the papaya salad but if you don't like spicy it definitely is not the dish for you. Overall great experience and would come again! read more

Back again for the lunch special ($16.99) today. SO GOOD! I am convinced there is NO better value with a full ocean view than Swan Thai. Seriously. For $16.99, we got a delicious soup, salad as well as an ample amount of entree. The wife and I ordered the Red Curry with chicken with white rice and it was SOOOO good. Our friends ordered the Red Curry with Shrimp and the Terriyaki Salmon and loved them. The Red Curry is so good, even decadent but not too sweet and it has a good bite of spice. I've been coming to Swan Thai for some time now and always enjoy their food and service. They're located in Golden Cove plaza and there's plenty of parking and stellar views of the ocean. We had the Khao Soi noodles, yellow curry with chicken and pad see ew with beef. For dessert, Sweet Mango rice. Everything is always delicious including their condiment of peppers! Been here a couple of times when I'm in the area and I can say this is def a really good date spot but def come before sunset as the ocean view is marvelous (I totally forgot to take a pic). There's ample amount of parking as it's in a huge shopping plaza. It's also easy to find this plaza as it's at the end of Hawthorne. I can safely say the food here is a solid 3. Everything we've tried is decent. We've tried the coconut soup, pho, spicy beef salad, spicy beef basil, and crab fried rice. The fried crab rice came with a piece of soft shell crab on top which was quit tasty. The hot Ginger tea is pretty good here. We're def here more for the scenery then food as it is amazing. The relaxing outdoor theme with the ocean view. It draws us here every time we are near. A solid 5 for the ambient hence the 4 star rating. My chicken was really well seasoned and not dry. The Thai iced tea was a good amount of bitter and sweetened perfectly. I do wish my plate came with rice without having to order it as a side though. This place comes with a really beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean! read more

If you're coming purely for the view, it might be worth it. Otherwise, I'd skip it. The food was incredibly disappointing. Everything we ordered was bland, lacked depth of flavor, and leaned overly sweet. As someone who enjoys authentic Thai food, this didn't come close. The curry also came with a poor rice to curry ratio, leaving us with far too much curry. On top of that, the seating is cramped and the tables are packed tightly together, making the dining experience uncomfortable. Overall, the view is the only thing this place has going for it. Only good things here at SwanThai. Made a reservation ahead of time. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess Elyse who was very polite, courteous and friendly. We were seated within a few minutes at an "ocean view/beachside" table that had phenomenal views while the sun was setting. Our waiter Cameron promptly greeted us after being seated at our table, and was helpful in recommending certain drinks and appetizers. He was great! We had a second waitress Chloe who brought out some of our dishes as well once the food was ready who was also very courteous. Great job Swan Thai management for having attentive and courteous staff members! As for the food. For starters, we ordered the cream cheese puffs and crispy spring rolls. Both were delicious! Our group for main entrees ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, Pad See Ewe with chicken, Teriyaki Salmon, and my favorite.... The crispy pork over rice!!! 10/10 for me! When tigers cry steak was already well seasoned, so I barely touched the sauce. Pad thai with chicken was a pretty standard pad thai, and it was good. I got the thai coffee without boba, and it was exactly what you'd expect from a thai-style coffee. I liked that it was strong. My family and I have come here multiple times and Ive consistently noticed that this place is mostly about the view. The food was pricey, mediocre, and came in smaller portions. The pad see ewe was WAY on the sweeter side compared to other thai places, the crispy pork & chinese broccoli was dry and chewy, and the rest of the food was really nothing special. That could add up imagine how many tables they get per holiday. We ordered crab fried rice and panang chicken curry. The curry was tasty and we had enough for a small lunch the next day. The crab fried rice was ok. First of all, just absolutely gorgeous views. I loved the vibe of the patio. The retractable sunshade and the lights were a great touch transitioning to evening. But I wish the food was better. I got pad see ewe and Thai iced tea. The portion was small but I'm normally fine with that. But my noodles were way too sweet. I've never had pad see ewe taste so much like sugar and not at all like soy sauce. It made the Thai iced tea not taste sweet. Maybe it was just an off day. My friends all seemed to enjoy their food so it might be my dish was the one off. Otherwise, our service was friendly and fast and I had a good time. The papaya salad had good fish sauce flavor, a good amount of acidity and was nice and spicy. I thought the prices were fair and the view was amazing. There's plenty of parking. The food all came out surprisingly quick. The bad: The batter on the rings was a bit hard and the rings were a bit chewy. I didn't care for the fake flowers on the ceiling. You literally get an ocean view while enjoying comfort food, and I truly cannot complain. The service here is always amazing, and you really cannot go wrong ordering anything on the menu. We ordered takeout this evening for four people. Total bill, with each person getting one dish, including tax and 20% tip: $131. Ouch. They said it would take 15-17 minutes. I showed up after 17 minutes and they said it would take another 8-10 minutes. So we went to the gelato place and got some pints to take home. Went back to Swan Thai. They hadn't started the order. We finally got our food 50 minutes after we ordered. There were other people there in the same predicament. If the food can't be made on time, tell us that. When we show up to get it, don't make false promises. And in the end, it tasted rather meh. I don't plan to get takeout here ever again. read more

The shrimp fried rice is one i will be ordering again. Upon entering the restaurant, we were a bit confused on where the entrance was located, but fortunately a lovely lady standing outside directed us. We were asked if we made a reservation, and even though we didn't, we were immediately seated. There was such a breathtaking view upon looking at the ocean, and the vibes were peaceful and calming. We ordered the coconut shrimp and calamari for appetizers. The coconut shrimp blew me away! We also ordered the honey bbq ribs, pad se ew with chicken and yellow curry with chicken with rice. Everything was delicious but the top was the honey bbq ribs. I normally don't order this at a Thai restaurant but I'll def look into it more often because I def enjoyed these! This is probably the best Thai food in the South Bay. The portions are a little on the small side and it's a little expensive but the food is good and the location can't be beat. Always have barking. The service is great. They have some really, really strong heaters when it's cold outside and the view from the restaurant is really great I would recommend the pad see ew. We gave our drink order and food order and that was the last time we saw our server. No one came to check to see if we wanted another alcoholic beverage or anything. Favorite place to visit when I'm at Palos Verdes. We ordered their - green curry with salmon, pad thai, paradise fried rice, green papaya salad, and crispy coconut shrimp. The papaya salad was very fresh and crunchy, it went well with all the dishes. Coconut shrimps had a very strong coconut flavor/kick. I would get the green curry again, but without the salmon, it was very flavorful and good. Their classic fried rice and pad thai was delicious as always! Friendly workers and great service!
