Came in for an early dinner. Had egg rolls, Thai chicken soup, and potato curry. Egg rolls were over fried. Chicken in both dishes was dried out and appeared to be leftovers. Soup bland. Curry very thick with little spice. Look like the curry broth had been reduced to a very thick consistency. No alcohol served here. Staff were polite. read more

Reviews are all over the place. Tried it for the first time last week and had no complaints. Ordered over the phone and it was ready when I got there 12 minutes later. I got the red curry and the fresh rolls (which ended up being three rolls instead of the usual two, yay leftovers!). Everything had great flavor. No pool or oil on top of the curry, great mix of vegetables, etc. Only complaint -- and it's a minor one -- was that there really wasn't a way to assemble the curry. I got the curry in one small container and rice in another small container. Next time I'd ask for a larger takeout container. Not a big deal. It'll be on regular rotation for me. read more

This is a review of the catering now called Pims. The best Thai food I've ever had comes from these two hard working folks. The food is always hot and the consistency is always great. Tough to do when you are parked in a building for four hours but they pull it off. The fried rice and chicken and broccolli is a go to dish for me. Bad taste in my mouth- the owner is not a person who conducts himself professionally, we regretfully met him down at the Asian Festival- he's barking at some poor girl to man the pad Thai station and forgets to throw our pre-cooked dumplings in a basket for us. (You could totally tell the girl was embarrassed he barked at her like that in front of a crowd of guests. With his behavior I shouldn't be surprised by what we experienced. Standing there ten minutes while the line is flying past us, we have to re-enter the line, and wait another five minutes to ask if he had the dumplings , which were not worth waiting 15 minutes for - I've had similar dumplings from the freezer section at the Asian market, no lie. i say, seems you were too busy yelling at your employee to take care of the guests - he says extremely rude "HAVE A NICE DAY" i said "yeah! Great location. I tried the incredible pineapple curry. More than enough to take home as a second meal. My friend tried the pineapple volcano soup. Unfortunately, they were out of the sterno that made it volcanic, but it didn't matter as the soup was delicious! She too ended up with full leftovers! By far my favorite Thai restaurant ever. Thai Esarn's food has a sweeter taste in their Thai food, which is what I prefer instead of other restaurants trying to save their bland food by making it so spicy it is unbearable to eat. All three of the main curry dishes are spectacular, and there is a good amount of meat in all the dishes. And the appetizers are all so good as well, between the wings, fried egg rolls, crab rangoons, and the donut tasting fried vegetable balls you have something for everyone. I have been eating here at least bi-weekly for nearly the past 3 years and I have yet to have a bad dish. Staff are super friendly as well and to-go orders are cooked quick and usually always ready by the time I get there after leaving my house. read more

This is the best service I've received at a Thai restaurant in Omaha. 5 stars for service. Seated promptly, order was taken quickly, and food came in a timely manner. Potion sizes for a lunch menu were more than adequate, please continue this practice, left overs were my dinner. Prices for that size portion were great. The dinner prices were good to average compared to other Thai places. Even the Thai tea came in a larger than average (comparing it to other Thai places) glass. We started with crab rangoons, the chili sauce was on par and the rangoons were great. I love the veggie fritters that come with the meals, and my boys devoured the the chicken satay. One said, "the best part about Thai food is the meat!" I had the chicken Bangkok Curry. It was great. The spice, I went with a six, was right on. The coconut was was perfect. Chicken was cooked perfectly. There was an adequate amount of basil, and I love basil and never think there is enough. All around, it was great, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because my husband felt his beef in the pad Thai was not cooked well enough, or the incorrect cut was used. He said it was too tough. It was ok. but the rice wasn't even jasmine rice. Couldn't taste the unique Thai flavors I love: fish sauce, peanuts, lime, lemon grass. All you got was heavy, bland, grease. They said my take out order would be ready in 20 min, but i asked if it could be sooner, because I was in a rush, and they kindly took care of me. SO good! I went three times in my three weeks working in Omaha! Each time I ordered the fresh rolls and cup of thom kha soup - they happily subbed tofu for chicken for me and it was delicious. I have been going to thai spicing under the assumption that everything is freshly made. However, on my fifth time there, i realized i was served microwaved food. I am certain that their curry takes at least 10 minutes to cook. However, i received mine in 4. Not to mention i was the only customer that night. When i took it home on a 10 minute drive, it was scalding hot when i put it on a plate. Plus the plastic cup that they served their curry was warped from being microwaved on blast. Not only was the realization that my food was being microwaved (because i was the only customer at night) disappointing, but it was extremely inconvenient when they hastily served my take out in a cracked container. This resulted in a plastic bag fully of microwaved curry sauce.... Be warned... Service is good when they want to give it to you. If they're in a good mood maybe they will cook your food. But if its convenient, they will just blast it in a microwave. read more

Good Thai takeout option when Salween is full and too busy. The food came quickly and was packaged neatly for the car ride home. Green curry chicken 5 and Red curry chicken 7. Spice levels were very good and provided plenty of heat. However, I agree with previous posts that it is a bit too sweet. Very friendly service and quick. read more

I'm always on the search for a new favorite Thai place in Omaha. I tend to order the same food everywhere I go, so naturally I'm gonna try the yellow curry. I've been here twice now, and really wanted two visits under my belt before writing a review. This is clearly a family owned restaurant, the first time we came in someone's daughter was graduating from school and there was a really nice picture and decorations up. Like many Thai restaurants, they bring out a complementary appetizer. One is a veggie spring roll and a "veggie ball". The spring roll has some egg in it, but the veggie ball (looks more like a donut) was said to be vegan (according to the waitress). It's very tasty, kind of sweet and savory, and tastes great with the sweet chili sauce. I ordered, of course, the yellow curry, or a very similar dish called southern curry, both times I ate here. I eat vegan so I ordered it with no fish sauce and added tofu. The first time, I really liked the flavor, a perfect amount of spice (level 4 to be safe, but I think a 5 or 6 would be better), but I couldn't finish all of it because it's fairly sweet. I thought I would give it a second chance so ordered it the second time as well, and it was still pretty sweet. I'll definitely be coming back here, and at that time I'll just ask them to reduce the sweetness a bit and I'm sure it will be perfect! I'll likely addend my review and move it to a 5 if I can get that perfect sweet:spicy ratio because the flavor is amazing. Highly recommend! read more

We love this place again!! We have lived near this restaurant for 8+ years. We loved them for years and then they were sold. We didn't like them after they were sold but recently tried them again and again! It's even better than before!!! The Basil fried rice with shrimp is one of our favs! I also love the popeye chicken! We also enjoy the seafood curry. Their crab Rangoon are excellent!! This is our go to for Thai food! We have tried other places but so far they are the best for flavor and freshness. read more

We used to come here a bit more when visiting. This last visit I'm note sure what happened but their spices and spiciness are not what they used to be. I ordered a noodle dish at level 8 and there was no spiciness to it at all. The noodles looked like instant ramen and overall the flavors were very flat. I did not have a good experience with this restaurant. I had a really hard time finding a menu online. There isn't one that I know of as of 11-7-20. I read the menu from what people took pictures of. I ordered the Ginger white fish curry and was asked if I wanted Ginger fish stir fry. I said no not stir fry. I stated you have a dish that is fried white fish curry over rice. Perhaps it's my fault for knowing the name of the dish but I did say not stir fry. They should know the menu better than I. Anyway what I got was a chicken dish of some kind. What's more? there was only four pieces of shredded chicken. It probably wouldn't measure an ounce worth of meat. I kind of wonder if it wasn't a bowl of soup. My receipt tells me I bought Ginger stir fry fish. I'm not a happy or satisfied customer. They did give me plenty of steamed rice though. I tipped them even though it was take out. HOLY COW THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME!! I had the Chang Mai Noodles at a spice level of 8 of 10. While this dish was pretty darn spicy it had an intense amount of flavor and I couldn't stop eating it. Everything from the bean noodles to the bean sprouts was amazing. Also had a side of the Thai Spring rolls with chili sauce. Definitely won't go back. The waitress actually pulled up a chair and slumped down in it to take our order. She said it was nap time. After we ordered we waited 35 minutes for our appetizer! They brought out undersized portions of chicken satay. The peanut sauce was gloppy with oil pooled in the divets. We waited another 20 minutes for our entrees! They brought out three of them and then the fourth 20 minutes later. Everyone at the table was nearly done with their meal by the time mine arrived. When i did get it, it was wrong. I requested a 3 for spice. My son requested a 5 and my dish was at least 20% hotter. Everyone at the table tasted it to confirm. I went up to tell them and the guy sarcastically said, "umm, ok, i guess I'll remake it. I'll be sure to put down 0 for spice." I told him I didn't want 0, I wanted three. He didn't answer. I went back to sit down and 7 minutes later he came and took my dish away and told me he make another. I'd had enough. I told him to forget it. Take it off the bill. I was ready to go. I will never go back. Terrible service. Unprofessional. Average food. The waitress was also coughing with her mouth uncovered on tables she was clearing.
