The spring rolls were good but everything else just seemed off. I'm am shocked at any review over 2 for this place. Mabey there was a change of ownership or cooks since the previous reviews. The ingredients that were used weren't right even though the spices seemed to be ok. There might have been Thai spoken in the kitchen but I'm not sure. If they presented themselves as a Thai-Asian-fusion restaurant it might have been ok. But to present the food as Thai is not correct. More like a Thai person cooking food with western groceries. The food just didn't seem Thai. The waitstaff never came by to ask and I really didn't want to tell them how bad everything tasted. We had take out and it ended up in the trash. I only had the Tom kha. So, the other foods may have been amazing, but the tom kha, while spicy enough & acceptably flavorful, was just not anywhere near authentic. The ambiance was lackluster & I normally adore little hole in the wall type places. The staff was nice enough, but 5 minutes until closing time, they presented the check & declared it "time to go". Which was fine, we had been waiting for the check anyhow, but I have to think there's a more polite way to dismiss paying customers. Hidden gem! I love this place. Service is prompt, management is friendly, and the food is delicious. I most recently had the red curry chicken. Yum. Sauce was creamy. Ingredients, fresh. I ate every bit. If you are in the area, definitely give it a try. I hope this place makes it in Cleburne. I would be sad to see it go. Call before you go. They can be a little slow during peak lunch time but the wait is worth the flavor for the cooked fresh when you order meals! This is a family owned restaurant and they are a friendly and caring family. It may be the only Thai food in Johnson County but people regularly come from the metroplex just to eat HERE, because it's that good. I love their Panang Curry while my wife goes for the Mussaman Curry and its potato chunks. The Cashew Chicken, Spring Rolls, fried Bananas, Pad See Ew, Fried Rice, soups, and the Black Pepper are some of our favorites. They have Thai Iced Tea which was new to me but I enjoy it from time to time. The pink lemonade is refreshing too. Overall money well spent here. You want glitz and glamour go somewhere else. This place is okay at best. Service is slow but we got everything and the waitress was friendly. I would skip the appetizers, they are tiny and tasteless. The entrees were okay a little on the sweet side for some. The curry has good flavor just seems watered down. No real spice levels here, everything comes out the same. This place is a hidden treasure! Everything is so fresh and flavorful. Absolutely delicious! Thai Garden Cafe has raised the bar for Cleburne! This place is on my "crave list." The pad Thai is my favorite, but the curries are delicious as well. Definitely the best place to eat in this area. Let me just tell you.. I search for Thai places in the metroplex that compare with this one and... It's very hard to beat. I wish they were open for dinner every night instead of just Thurs and Fri. The atmosphere is very calm and quaint, the exterior is a little..rough.. But just go right on in anyway! You won't regret it. The owner is a very sweet man who says he married a Thai lady (I'm assuming she is the chef) and he treats his customers like family. One thing I love about this place is the authenticity. There is a Buddhist tradition of a little offering on the front desk of milk and fruit to those souls who are passing through to the next life. I find that very reverent and thoughtful. This is a nice quiet little place that's a little out of site of the common eye. The building isn't the best but that doesn't stop you from having a top notch experience! The food and service were excellent! I loved their wantons that were done quite well and the soups are fantastic! Anything that you get you'll enjoy! The noodle plates are amazing! They are very flexible with their options as well. For instance you can select whatever type of meat you want with your dish and if you're a vegetarian like myself then you can either pick tofu or just have no meat in it all together. They staff is very helpful,friendly, and polite. My waiter gave me a good recommendation since I was a vegetarian and she was on point and I loved it! Have eaten here for a number of years. Never had a bad meal. Service has always been prompt and friendly. I always have the N4 Pad See Ew and wife usually has the Pad Thai. Unplanned visit to cleburne brought us to this small restaurant with extremely friendly hosts. The place is not mind blowing or beautiful but their food speaks for itself. Being an Indian I've been craving for spicy food for the last two years and for the first time I found something as spicy as red chilies itself we came as a group of five and we ordered a drunken noodles and the four currys that they serve and we asked them to fill it up with spice. The aesthetics weren't as great as what you find in some top notch expensive restaurants but the taste was something you would never complain off. This a little, hidden, Texas, Thai gem! I just dropped in for lunch and had the Tom Yum Gai with Jasmine rice. It was fresh, delicious and packed with veggies. Substantial enough on its own for lunch. I was delighted. It was very busy for lunch at 12:30, but service was very attentive. A surprise! I went for lunch with my 4 children. First, the ambience...very clean, very plain. The service...awesome! May seem a little slow, but that's because the food is freshly prepared, it's a small business, have patience. This place disappointed me. Based on the reviews I had higher expectations. I really dislike giving poor reviews especially to independently owned businesses. $15.70 for so so spicy beef Pad Thai. No prices on the online menu and wasn't given a price after ordering. Pad Thai is a dish I crave and most often order. Second choices Tom Kha Gai or Khao Koi. For 15.70 should have come with limes, more meat, veggies and more flavorful sauce. I was told to wait 20-25. When I arrive the place was almost empty besides one couple and one lady waiting for a to go order. The building inside and out is lacking. If the food made up for it I wouldn't care! The food is decent but to be honest, it's so different than actual Thai food. I am a food lover and I know lies when they tell it. They say that their little complimentary soup is vegetarian? I saw chicken particles. Also, there is a man who works there -- I've seen him on more than one occasion. I think he is the owner.. he does not leave me alone when I eat. I have also seen how he talks to the other waitresses and it's very condescending. If you're paying attention the atmosphere overall is not good. I pity the waitresses because they put on a smile but I can tell that the main guy is rude towards them. If you stay there over 30 minutes.. they make comments about how you took a long time. It just doesn't make me want to eat there if I have to eat under a set of rules. Also, I SPEAK THAI. I lived in Thailand for 10 years, and the workers in the kitchen speaking Thai, are not happy to make the food. They speak badly of their employees AND THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! But very friendly to my face. Obviously, if they don't need our service, why bother giving it. There are plenty of other Thai restaurants that are much more pleasing. read more

We stopped to eat here on our way to glenrose. It didnt look like much from the outside but don't let that fool you. The waitress and the owner were nice and helped us figure out what to order. We had the panang curry with beef, black pepper pork, and cashew chicken. We liked everything and were even raving over the starter soup and the little side springrolls. I had the roughly $ 10.00 Thai Basil meal - '' dinner size '' ,expecting a good heaping helping ... but it was quite small served on what amounts to a child's plate, not much larger than a good sized saucer. The vegetables were cut into VERY small pieces although there WAS a fair amount of good tasting chicken in it .The $6.00 spring rolls are about the size of a Vienna sausage from a can. The waitress was VERY attentive though- perhaps TOO much so , really .
