This place is really good, my rating is closer to 4.5 stars, but I wasn't given that option. I eat here almost every week for lunch and I'm always impressed with the food. My recommendations are the Pad Kee Mao, and the Panang Curry, both awesome and both on the lunch menu. Their lunch combo comes with a really good amount of food. The restaurant is nice and very clean but the quality of the food far exceeds any ambiance. If you're looking for a great meal it's perfect, if you're looking for a fancy presentation it's probably not exactly what you're looking for. Run by a great family, they are always nice and do their best. Great fresh lime soda, great boba drinks, great spicy salmon, pineapple rice is good, the soups are fantastic (get the Tom Yum vegetarian and spicy YUM!) Great veggie egg rolls.. really freaking good people. This place should be much busier at night too.. don't do the buffet as I am vegetarian (with occasional fish) but the extremely reasonable main menu is good all day and night. This is "our Thai place". We order from here a couple times a month. Very friendly staff, great food, nice atmosphere. the food is delicious. Having lived in Thailand and visited several times, I'm super picky about my curry (red or green). The curry here is great, although I always ask for extra broccoli. Pad See You is awesome. SUPER delicious food. The only reason for the stars docked off is that the lady who worked there had a nasty attitude. They have signs in the restaurant that say that they have a small kitchen so they might have slow service, but the service was surprisingly and pleasantly fast. Glad I found this place. I've been coming here for years! It's my go-to authentic Thai place. They have signs inside the restaurant that say "our kitchen is small, our love of food is great. We promise your meal will be worth the wait" and that is absolutely true. This place is owned and operated by the same family that put a little love in all the dishes. You can't go wrong with anything here. I always get one of the curries (try tofu or veggie!) and an appetizer like the satay chicken. Finish it off with a mango sticky rice and you're in heaven. read more

Great lunch prices. I've been here a couple times, today being one of those times... I can't say that I'm fond of the hot and sour soup that comes with the lunch combo. I only ate the tofu. Too fishy for my taste... I went solo today -- was a bit awkward, so I acted like a total hermit, and watched the big fish swimming around it's mediore tank, while I waited for the food which came quickly. Hands down(!!) the best Thai Food in Oceanside and maybe even all of North County SD! I personally am a Pad Sei Ew person and I like it #9 spicy. If that sounds wonderful to you then go HERE!! Everyone I've brought to this place is instantly a fan. We all get cravings for this place regularly. The restaurant is dark but clean. The service is great, the cashier is always super friendly and accommodating when it comes to questions and recommendations. They're fairly quick with getting orders out. I would say the longest I've had to wait about 15-20 minutes maybe, but it was pretty busy that day. It likely depends on the time of day, the day of the week, etc. Price is about average. For several years now Thai Garden has been a go to spot for lunch during work as their buffet is well priced at $7.95 and it has something for everyone: Curry, pad thai, meat & vegetarian dishes, soup, and even desert. I am not from Thailand, so I am not an expect on Fresh Spring Rolls, but I am a crazy American who loves the combination of herbs, vegetables and dipping sauce that make a great roll. My family was hosting a family reunion in Oceanside (we're all from out of town). We ordered takeout for 24 people (day-of) and the food we received was beautiful and delicious!! The owners were so sweet and the pricing was very reasonable. I'm from Seattle which has an abundance of delicious thai restaurants and Thai Garden would fit right in! My family was very happy and with a few picky eaters the yellow curry with chicken was a hit! The pad kee mao with prawns was my favorite. I have ordered Chicken Panang dozens of times from Thai Garden and it has always been consistently outstanding. Today I am so disappointed that it did not taste anything like it always did. It was terrible to be honest. This review is just a heads up to the owners in case they are not aware of something changing. I would have preferred to contact you directly but I could not find a website for you. I hope it was just a one-time mistake. If you changed your recipe, I recommend you put it back the way it was. Cute little Thai food restaurant, very small inside. This was my first time there and I ordered take out. I am impressed by the portion sizes! Very big and decently priced. The employees were easy to communicate with and our food was still hot by the time we got it home and I the table. Not the best Thai food I have ever had, but still quite good. I will be going there again! We got the pad Thai, pad sew ewe, Tom kae soup, and mango sticky rice. So good! We have leftovers for tomorrow too! read more

I just went there and ordered Pad Kee Mao. I do have to say it was delicious and I really enjoyed this place. I ordered my plate to go but I thought the Lobby was very nicely decorated, definitely a place that I'd be entertained in. The service was really good, but communication might be a little weird. Nevertheless it was still outstanding. Portion wise on what I ordered what not huge so some people might be disappointed on the portions for the price. That's based on the one dish I ordered. When we ordered a side of sticky rice, they gave us a huge bowl of it! The server, Cha, provides amazing service, he is so friendly and funny! I went to this place once about 3 years ago and I swore that I would never go back and here I was last Saturday night for dinner. I only went there because a friend recommended the papaya salad; it did not live up to her raving review, the sauce was just off. I had better papaya salad around Oceanside. The green curry was over powered by coconut milk and SALT, that is all I have to say about it. The tom yum was borderline inedible, it was overly seasoned with salt and everything else. After two spoonful of the tom yum, I have had enough. You literally have to mix it with steam rice or drink water afterwards as a chaser, and unfortunately we ordered a full pot. Whoever is cranking out those dishes are not performing the most crucial part of the cooking process: taste test it! I am not sure why the good reviews, maybe yelpers feel bad since they are friendly people running his place? I've been going here since it opened in 2006. The food is absolutely amazing. Very authentic, as it should be! The owner used to chat with us about growing up in Thailand in the rice fields. The booths here are very private, so it's a perfect place to take a date. The decor here is also tastefully done with several authentic looking Thai art pieces. Usually when I go to restaurants I like to try different things on the menu, and I'd say I've sampled a good 1/4 of their menu. Everything here is good! My brother and I love trying new Thai spots and we were hoping this would be a great gem. We got the yellow curry and pad thai noodles in hope to be blown away, but once again..tasted like any other Thai food joint. My brother ordered a number 9 spicy pad thai and all i remember him saying was "it's not spicy at all". Either he burned his soul away a long time ago or they forgot to add it. I usually go with a medium number or else I might just die from the heat. My curry was like any other curry, tasty, but nothing to make it pop out and make me say "this is some good stuff". Where do I start? This review is a tough one for me. I was looking to satisfy a craving for spicy fried rice that went unsatisfied from somewhere else just a few days earlier. First of all, I like it very spicy but not hot for hot sake, I still like good flavor. Most places have a 1-10 system and ad either chili sauce or powder and/or just give you a tiny cup of garlic/chili sauce to add it yourself. In my opinion, neither is acceptable. It's rare find, (but I always ask for) fresh Thai chilies and have them actually cooked in with the rice. Thai Garden had them and did exactly what I asked! He asked the usual, "how spicy, 1-10?" I answered, 10 of course because it's rarely spicy enough. In fact, I ordered 9 or 10 from the place a few days earlier and I don't think there was any spice at all. Anyway, the spicy fried rice at Thai Garden was perfect! It was VERY spicy (I'll probably order 8-9 next time) and it tasted fantastic. Flavorful, fresh, clean and they gave me a side of chilies (which I didn't need). The people were nice & friendly, it wasn't busy because I went around 4pm on Saturday, just before the dinner hour. I ordered my food to-go. The place is small but seemed clean. I also ordered egg rolls, a fried shrimp appetizer and a Thai iced tea. Egg rolls & tea are a standard for me however I never order fried shrimp, I don't know what possessed me? I did not care for the egg rolls, they were very greasy and the filling was weird. I didn't finish them and wouldn't order them again. As for the shrimp, there were just as many fried broccoli crowns as shrimp but they were quite good. Probably wouldn't order the shrimp again since I don't usually order fried shrimp but it was ok. The Thai tea was also very good (which was just average at the other place). In my to-go bag I didn't get any chopsticks, soy sauce and not many napkins. So, for my fried rice and tea, 5 stars! The rest of the experience was mixed, one app was inedible, the other just ok and the (take-out) service good. I will give them 4 stars overall (maybe generous) and definitely go back and give them another try. They probably deserve 3 stars based on this one visit but I think they have potential for 5 stars. One of my favorite restaurants to dine in. My favorite dish is definitely the pad see ew. I recommend the BBQ pork fried rice and wonton soup. Wasn't a huge fan of the papaya salad. There seems to be only one full time waitress and she did recognize my family and remember our order. The wait for our food is usually thirty-fourty minutes but in the end it's worth it. My only complaint was we weren't offered straws and I don't like how they serve water with lemon slices inside. read more
