It was such a welcome surprise to find such yummy food in techachapi. It has so many yummy and also heathy options. Even better than the food was the service. PJ was one of my favorite waiters or all time. He was so knowledgable about the menu and accommodating with some of our many food restrictions. Absolutely delicious! I had the Pumpkin Red Curry with pork, and the sweetness of the pumpkin chunks offset the medium curry. Lovely! The green papaya salad was a unique combo of tomato, green papaya strips (not sweet) and shrimp chunks. Nice. But I shoulda chosen the mild, spice-wise. The surprise was the "fried bananas". We've had fried bananas, Indonesian, Carribean, but did not expect 8 little crispy won-ton pastries with a soft banana heart, drizzled with honey & sesame seeds. WOW!! This restaurant has by far the best Thai food I have ever eaten. From the first sip of spicy & sour chicken soup, I was floored by the explosion of flavors! A little excitement when it's lit on fire tableside. Be warned that Thai hot isn't like Mexican food hot - medium is intense and after multiple 'hot' dishes, the heat starts to build in your mouth. We enjoyed everything so much, we had to return for a 2nd visit but with less heat. The green curry was one of my favorites and looked nothing like the pictures - it was not bland, trust me. Also tried roast duck curry, pineapple fried rice, coconut chicken soup, fresh spring rolls, chow mein with crispy noodles. You can pick your fav meat for some of the dishes. Good experience while visiting. I'm sad it's not closer to home or I'd be there every week. read more

When you're on a road trip, you want to stop somewhere to eat that is healthy, efficient, and delicious. This Thai restaurant is place for that. My family and I had a three more hour drive ahead of us to get to Las Vegas, and we wanted to sit down somewhere for lunch and skip the fast food. We all ordered our food, and not long after we got our food. Not only did we get it fast, but it was also fantastic. I had the chicken chow mien and it's probably some of the best I have ever had. The food is very good!! The prices are great!! The staff is polite and gracious. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Tehachapi, CA!! My Favorite is the group dinner and the cashew chicken. My husband and I like to split the 2 person dinner, the soup is great, the orange chicken is good and the Cashew Chicken is great. My favorite part is the chicken fried rice. There are actually large chunks of chicken in the rice. Love it!! I also love the Thai Tea!! It's a great desert!! read more

This place is the real deal for Thai food. The staff is marvelously helpful incredibly polite and so willing to serve. We came in late in the evening hoping to get a decent Thai meal. Wow were we happy. The observant staff noticed the Buddha on my wife's neck. It is a very old Thai Buddha and they were very interested. Each of the staff members came up looked at it and tried to read the old ancient Thai on the back. they could read some but not all. They were very enthusiastic. Oh yes the meal was wonderful we had a yellow curry I forgot the name and a wonderful soup I forget the name and some wonderful shrimp. What I can say for sure is this is the best Thai restaurant in Tehachapi. Of course it's the only Thai restaurant in Tehachapi. Don't let that stop you this place is wonderful and we will be stopping there now even more than we used to stop at the Town Central Bakery which we really like. Last night we had the dinner for 2. Our appetizer came right away and looked beautiful, was hot and tasty. I like to know my food comes straight from the stove to me. 4stars. Then service started sucking. We noticed them set-up the table next to us, and brought several food dishes out to an empty table-figured it was a family or friend call-ahead. Our rice dish then came and we we're told our other 2 dishes would be out soon. The owners family and her friend (guessing by the interactions) came and took that table and were treated like, well, family. Remember our 2 dishes we're waiting on? Our server comes over, takes them off that family table (it had been sitting there for at least 10 minutes by that time) and laughingly tells us they put them on the wrong table. No, they hadn't touched them but, the orange chicken had gotten cold. We asked for them to be heated up. They obviously microwaved them. No longer were they that crunchy texture we like, but were then "steamed" soft and not so good. The cashew chicken, drowned in soy sauce, way toooo salty. -2 stars for food quality. One other peeve-I'm sure they like that small town vibe, but do they really have to yell across the room for people coming in to sit anywhere? They weren't busy and had plenty of servers. Please, go the extra distance - go greet your customers and walk them to their table of choice. Treat your customers as well as you treated your family. -1star for customer service. read more

This was our first time here. It was later in the afternoon. Had the sweetest server. Our food came quickly and served up piping hot. Pad Thai and Yellow Chicken Curry. Both dishes were wonderful. Very clean inside. Street parking only. Highly recommend you give this place a try. read more

I loved this restaurant. The food is exceptional, the service is outstanding and the ladies who work here are extremely friendly. My family had different dishes and they all were great- hot and sour soup, red curry and yellow curry chicken, pad Thai were all wonderful dishes. We are here for a week vacation and this was our favorite restaurant by far in the area. I hope locals and tourists come to this place a lot. This is one of my favorite Thai restraints in the US. Oh and the portion sizes were large and I did not leave hungry. Can't say enough how much I enjoyed my meal. Well done Thai Hachapi. read more

Really good Thai food and great service. We tried chicken satay, seafood Tom Yum soup, Spicy Basel chicken and the fried banana. We ordered medium spiciness. The food was spicier than we expected, but we enjoyed it. We liked their service. Ladies had a pleasant and warm smile as they served. The restroom was really clean and even the toilet rolls were of higher quality. Definitely will come back here, when we pass by Tehachapi the next time. read more

Overall yummy. I have had a spicy noodle dish, thai iced tea, fried tofu, jasmine rice, and Tom Kha Kai (or chicken coconut soup sans chicken). Different visits, of course. Thai tea is EXCELLENT. The spicy noodle dish I had was great. The jasmine rice tasted a little old or too moist, but not too bad. The fried tofu sauce kind of had no flavor/salt, but that is at your table. My husband and I have eaten at all the Thai restaurants in Tehachapi and this is the best. In fact, it is the best in the area between Lancaster and Mojave. Won Ton soup is a must and if you like Kum Pao, it is delicious! You can order it as spicy as you like. The orange chicken and chicken chow mein are also very good. We haven't tried all their dishes because we just can't get away from the soup and Kum Pao. Their fried won tons and cucumber salad is the best! We usually order the small bowl of won ton that is enough for two along the Kum Pao and another entrée such as chicken chow mein with a pot of tea. The meal costs about $32.00. We always have leftovers that make a nice second meal for us! read more

I had the green curry with chicken, medium spice, and brown rice. It was DELICIOUS! I wouldn't have wanted it any spicier; it was perfect. Lots of chicken and the veggies were crisp tender. I am a very long term Thai food fan and this is just about the very best I have ever had and quite authentic, the flavors are bold, the portions just right, there are many selections, the service outstanding. My only warning is I caution you on ordering spicy. Spicy here is Thai spicy (and I love it) !!! Sonya (the chef) has some kind of rocket fuel back in that kitchen and it will melt your hair from the inside out :) and even if you order spicy, I promise you not only will you get some heat but the flavors will still be there. read more

Loving this place! Eaten here three times and only complaint I have is their egg rolls. Besides that, very good food. Their prices are about the same as King of Siam, their portion sizes are a tad bit smaller, but still worth it. King of Siam has been my go to Thai place for a long time, and it feels bad saying I think I enjoy this Thai place more... But I do! Their yellow curry is delicious, along with their spicy basil dish. Can't wait to go back again. (But seriously, try the yellow curry!) read more
