as a DC native I was absolutely shocked to find a carryout outside my hometown that has the same quality of Chinese food. Hunan Joy did not disappoint. Ordered my normal thing praying it would taste the same as other places and it impressed me more than expected

This spot has become my fave for Chinese food. I travel across town to eat here. Th woman at the counter is alwaysssss nice and pleasant. I even see him taking food out to cars sometimes. The food is really tasty. Eggs rolls too. I don't veer too far from shrimp fried rice and shrimp egg rolls . Just the right tinch of grease ...

This is the first Chinese spot I've found in Baltimore county that makes the egg foo young like they do in the city. The Yat Gaw Mein isn't that Baltimore dirty Yat! but it's serviceable. My wife and I ordered from here twice in one week and we were not disappointed. This will be our go to for Chinese food in the county. The egg foo young gravy is really so fire. And they give you 3 egg pancakes so you will definitely be full afterward. I just wish the Yat Gaw Mein had a thicker sauce and the flavor profile comes up more. It's not nasty just not dirty Yat. The service is great, the young man I've encountered each time behind the counter is calm and friendly, he even brought my food out to my car as I waited. Give them a try if you're in Catonsville.

Really good Chinese food! Take out only. Reasonable prices and fast. Two sizes large and small. I ordered large for everything. There is a small parking lot out in the front so you can park and pick up your food. They have all the traditional food. I liked the moo shoo vegetable, kung pao chicken, lo mein noodle with chicken (has bean sprout and celery), and the hot and sour soup I did not like general Tso tofu. I imagine it would be the same orange glaze for general tso's chicken. This is a personal preference as I don't like anything sweet. The glaze reminds me of the common Americanized orange chicken dish. So if that's what you're looking for the general tso's sauce is for you. I liked 4 out the 5 dishes that I ordered. I'm so glad I found this place. It's exactly what I'm looking for from a Chinese restaurant. I docked a star bc they didn't have common dishes like eggplant dish or bok choy/ong choy in garlic sauce and thick flat rice noodle stir fry. That being said what they had was pretty delicious. I'm definitely going to be a regular.

They seem really optimistic about how much we're willing to spend so we don't have to drive there.

Website says they do delivery, but clearly that's just so they can get your hopes up! Either this is a very amusing error, or it's scummy marketing. I'm leaning towards amusing error, somebody probably forgot to fill in a box somewhere. Edit: Turns out it was just an error after all! Just put in a delivery and looking forward to the results, thank you for the response!

Got carry out here for lunch. Just wanted to try a new place. Was pleased with the product and flavors. Very nice local place. Friendly and easy pickup. The triple delight with fried rice and egg rolls. Each hot and fresh. Totally enjoy a few more dishes from here.

I think the key is the thickness and the fillings. I got one with spicy tuna and real crabmeat. It was perfectly balanced and really hit the marks for that crispy texture contrast. Naru is the second stall from the door. I was waged on quickly and got the viral Sushi Burrito. I am a sushi lover and had to try it. It cam to 17.99 plus tax. I also purchased a drink. They give you a buzzer, which buzzes when your food is ready. I wasn't gone for more than 10 minutes when the buzzer went off, which was pretty fast- no complaints on my end. The sushi burrito comes sliced in half. It is deep fried on the outside. Inside, there was a generous amount of shrimp and crab, with eel and a spicy mayo drizzled over top of both pieces. I enjoyed it. It was seasoned well, crispy and the combination of the burrito with the sauce brings it all together. It is a lot of food, I could barely eat one of the halves, so I gave the other half away. It is- in my opinion- one of those foods you get every once in a while, just to have something different. They do offer other food options, so I'll definitely be returning

After making dinner every night since Saturday, we decided to pick up dinner from here last night…read moreto eat at home. We ordered the shrimp tempura appetizer along with the shrimp hibachi and the steak with shrimp hibachi dinners and fried rice for both. I did not take pictures because I usually forget when I have takeout to grab pictures. But you really weren't missing anything. The fried rice had absolutely no seasoning and barely any fried/scrambled egg as well. There was an option to add extra egg when I looked at the menu online. Not one hint of toasted sesame oil anywhere. I'm not too sure what the flavor was for the vegetables or the shrimp but the shrimp did have a little bit of char to them the vegetables, however did not. I had to add soy sauce and my own toasted sesame oil just so it could taste like something. If I would have known it didn't have any flavor, I would have refried our rice and added egg and other seasonings. I didn't think about this until today when I reheated half of it for dinner and added them on. The shrimps and poor appetizer consisted of two shrimp, one piece of broccoli, one mushroom, and two pieces of sweet potato. They were easy to reheat in the air fryer and get crispy again. We ordered extra yum yum sauce but I only eat yum yum sauce from one restaurant so I didn't even try it. It was very light and color which also didn't have me wanting to try it. With everything else unseasoned and lacking so much flavor, I didn't even open the sauce packet that came with the tempura appetizer. Oh well, we gave them a shot but I don't think that I would eat there again or order food.

It smelled great inside so I which I would have ordered some fried rice or chicken. Definitely will be on the bill for the next run.

Solid meal, friendly service, with a few nitpicks. details: We went on a pretty quiet Monday afternoon to grab a sushi (and more) dinner. There were hardly any people for context. There's a bar (by the sushi making station), tables, and booths to sit. Plenty of seating. The ambiance is kind of modern with familiar touches of an Asian/Japanese dining experience. There's TVs everywhere, which I assume would be playing sports/news (but there weren't any games happening at that time). That's where my nitpick actually is. I don't think they monitor this very closely and so there were a few explicit songs and videos playing at the time we were there. It wasn't anything hardcore or anything, but something to be cognizant about if you're going with little ones. The food was solid. Things did take a little longer than what I expected considering how quiet the place was when we were there. However, things did taste fresh and made to order, so I'm guessing/assuming the time went to make things fresh which is definitely nice. All the food we ordered was well balanced with flavor and cooked well. The sushi menu felt a bit more on the Americanized side for me. e.g. there's lots of rolls with cream cheese and mayo type of sauces. But, what we did order was very tasty. Positive experience all around and I would recommend checking out if you're in the area and in the mood for some Japanese cuisine.
