Came in from Dallas on our way to Denver... on a Saturday night. Drink menu was too elaborate for their knowledge of alcohol. For example, they had a Tom Kha Martini listed... not available she said. Husband started naming other possibilities when she says: Mai Tai. Sure, ok... Granted you are out in the middle of nowhere. Now, I'm skeptical about the food. Mai Tai was a-typical, but good albeit I don't like sweets. So, now I'm craving Tom Kha Soup. So, that's what I go to order... Oh, that's an appetizer. Huh? Why are they not listed in the appetizer section of the menu? Ok, I'll have that and ummm, the salmon salad (not listed on online menus). It was great. The soup... not so much. It was super salty, and lacking in the complex spices. However, I don't fault them too much being in the middle of nowhere with limited access to those special ingredients that go in Tom Kha. Or, Tom Yum. My husband's & BIL's meals were good, too. I would go there often if I lived there, but would never get the soup again.

Pad Thai beef and seaweed salad.

Food is authentic and fresh. Service was timely and courteous. There is calming and relaxing music in the background. The restaurant was extremely clean and in good order. As I was finishing my meal, the patrons started increasing during the late afternoon. Great place for authentic Thai cuisine.

Where we sat, there were steps down and you can watch all the cars drive by on a one-way street. The decor was tasteful. The men's and women's restrooms were actually part of a shared area of the building which has a couple more businesses and another restroom, but they were a short walk away. There were times when it was super quiet and awkward with the nerd group who sat near us because the music stopped playing for about 10 minutes. What was the cowboy talking about? Roping older bulls that were fighting between fences in the mountains. Lol. Hope they enjoyed that discussion. Moving onto the food... Here is what we ordered: + Pineapple Sake Tinis ($9 each) - good alternative to just straight sake + Soft shell crab app ($10.95) - these were deep fried which the cowboy never had before. He liked them a lot. I thought they were okay. + Super Spider Man Roll ($14.95) - I tried a couple of pieces, but it was mainly for my significant other. Here's what it entailed: "Softshell crab tempura, asparagus, lettuce, masago, mayo, cream cheese, surimi, topped with eel sauce." + Beauty's Rainbow Roll ($13.95) - I chose this one and I'm glad I did. This was their description: "Surimi, cream cheese, avocado, topped with tuna, salmon, hamachi, fish egg, sesame seed." + Masago sashimi ($6) - just tried this sashimi style because I had never had it and didn't want rice to mask its natural flavor. It was alright. With soy sauce and wasabi it was better. Would probably not order it again, though, unless it was paired with something else... not sure what. There is another sushi place down the street. I'll be trying it next time to see how it compares to Siam. Otherwise, I would definitely suggest this place for a change of place whilst in Alamosa, CO. :) RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4

Mrs Rios, not a resort and in fact a humble little establishment will up charge a "Payment Processing" fee when you pull the plastic out. OK but I think it escaped their notice that as that credit card fee is considered when calculating a gratuity. It's true a tip is not expected when the server is the owner as is normally the case here. But I overlook that and tip the owner... Total Tip = Credit card fee + tip. I suppose we are grateful not to be upcharged for Rent, Utilities, Employees, capital improvements, disposables and any of the dozens of other business expenses. Pro Tip: Payment Processing charges are a normal business expense Next the menu items have risen in price more so than others serving similar foods. $5.30 for a fountain beverage is unacceptable when other restaurants are all in the vicinity of $3.00. Sorry, as fond of you as we are simple lunch for 2 with fountain beverages right at the $50 mark doesn't fly. This isn't the Ritz although they seem to want the same revenue flow. It is by far not the best mongolian grill I've been to -- but I mean, there aren't that many of these things around, are there? Let's take this chronologically. I was excited to discover that this place existed as we were driving north on 25 to Denver and happened to be passing Pueblo around lunchtime. The fact that it's super accessible from the highway made it ideal. When we walked in, I almost walked out. The entire restaurant smelled like bathroom. Literally like I had walked into a bathroom. I have to assume that this is unusual. I was surprised people were actively eating. We wandered over to the food/ingredients line to see if our noses would adapt and to check out the situation. The food looked good. All the vegetables looked fresh, didn't see any wilting. The freeze-dried rolls of meat were still appropriately freeze dried and not melting into a pile of meat goo like at some places. Ok. Food - check. We got a table and came back to the food line. This place charges by size-of-bowl (I've seen some charge by weight or be AYCE) and you can tell the regulars because they KNOW how to fill a bowl. If your bowl is not overflowing to the point of nearly toppling over, you will not get back a full bowl of cooked food. I was only middling hungry so my mid-sized bowl merely heaped. I especially liked the sauce bar. Quite an extensive selection of sauces, with all the usual things plus some extras. I can imagine as a regular you could have a really good time exploring different combinations. Alas, not for me as it's unlikely we'll find our way out here again anytime soon. The food was good. The service was good. If the eating-in-a-bathroom thing weren't so distracting, I'd be saying four stars.

However, I kind of felt like the food was not fresh. For the most part, everything was frozen. In fact, a lot of the vegetables were sitting in ice water. I also got the taro boba smoothie and I absolutely loved it! The restaurant itself is kind of worn down. It kind of felt unclean. But I don't think it's a deal breaker. Ultimately, the flavor of the food is what is bringing me back. Other than that I'm not too impressed.

We came here on a Friday afternoon with an hour and 15 mins to spare before we had to pick up our train ride tickets. We figured we wanted to try sushi and how long would that take? Surprise surprise! When we entered, there wasn't a single person dining in. We took around 5-8 mins to decide what we wanted and by the time we went back to order at the main desk, there was one person ordering to dine in. Another person came in for their pick up just after we'd finished ordering. We ordered fountain drinks, the eel, octopus and squid nigiri, Las Vegas roll and denver roll. Half an hour later, nothing has shown up at our table. At least 3 other people have shown up for their pick up orders and have not received them. Finally at 40 mins post our order placement, I went up to ask how long it would take, and I was told that the chef was just starting up on our order!! We ended up taking our order to go and only because I'd already paid for it. I would've appreciated a heads up regarding the wait time. You can't just expect us to sit there waiting for food. We would've gone elsewhere and enjoyed a nice dine in experience. So I have to call this poor service. Regarding the food, they gave us a bowl of complimentary hot and sour soup which was good. The sushi was good as per my brother who ate it all. The Las Vegas roll was excellent and should on anyone's order list. The denver roll was just ok. As you can see from the pictures, the takeout was obviously not as enjoyable as the dine in would've been, because the rolls got squished together. The food is good, but ask up front if they're lagging behind in orders so you're aware of how long you'll be.
