This spot in Castro is great. It's a nice little restaurant with really nice people. They always greet you when you walk in and ask if it's for here or to go. The food portions are a really great size. The menu is on the pricier side, but the portions are good size.

A nice reliable standard in the Castro. Perfect for a last minute drop in when the other restaurants nearby have a wait. It's not the best Thai or even destination-worthy, but it does the trick. Money Bags: Such a fun appetizers. Looks like those gold bags in 8-bit video games. Tastes great too with crunchy exterior and lots of savory ground meat. Chicken Larb: My kind of salad... since it's mostly meat! Though a nice bit of herbs, onions and spices too. Tom Yum w/ Tofu: Broth was good, but kinda felt like too many veggies. Kinda wish there was more of that slightly sour broth. Pad Thai Shrimp: A classic. Sweet chewy noodles. A decent amount of shrimp. Real comfort food. Red Curry w/ Beef: Really enjoyed how this was such a soupy dish. Like even a higher liquid-to-solids ratio than the tom yum soup. The beef was tender. The curry packed a nice kick, even at mild (ordered by my table mates). Sauteed Eggplant w/ Pork: I'm normally not a big eggplant fan, but these are delish. So tender and soaks up all the nice sauce. The pork was thin sliced and kinda reminded me of the beef. Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Chinese Sausage: Didn't want to order a bunch of white rice sides, so we got this. An interesting mix of flavors. The Chinese sausage rounds really was a dominate flavor. Thai Iced Tea: Creamy with a nice jolt of sugar and caffiene.

Great location to find parking, in my opinion. A few of us found parking just up the same street. We were a group of 20 - 25; they broke us down by table making it easy to order and not overloading kitchen with all those orders same time. They handled us beautifully. The portions are plenty for one person. The servers are very friendly and we waited for nothing. I had the pork panang curry and shared the 4 piece spring roll appetizer. Restaurant and restrooms were clean. Our group here's every year for a few years. We'll be back next year!

We ordered last minute delivery from DoorDash and it cost $180 total for 4 entrees (below), two chicken satays, and two servings of rice. Plenty to feed 4 adults and 4 toddlers. * Pad Thai - 4 stars, good, thinner noodles, chicken fairly moist. * Pad See Ew - 4 stars, good. * Pork Belly - 3.5 stars (pork got soggy in the broth). * Green Curry - 4 stars, legit spicy! * Chicken Satay - I didn't have any but the kids were practically fighting over these!

Saw the sign that they have been open for 36 years so I had to give it a try. Boy am I happy I trusted my instinct. This place is so homey, employees so kind, environment is picturesque and overall an amazing place. Spring rolls phenomenal, packed with ingridents, incredibly fresh and generous potion! The peanut sauce was also homemade and amazing. I got their egg noodle with yellow curry, this was the best curry I've ever had in my life. The balance between sweetness and heat was perfect. It was thick and combined amazing with the fried crackly noodles and the soft egg noddles. Highly recommend this place.

I've only been to the restaurant that was my Annie's burgers. There hours were hit & miss. The food is excellent. I have yet to try the one in town.

I ordered the pad thai from Uber Eats and it was good pad thai. When they list "Thai spicy", it actually is Thai spicy and not mild downed. I usually have the issue that it's not spicy enough but this was a little too spicy for me! It was a good portion too.

Finally stopped by this castro staple for lunch and I can't believe it's taken me this long. This cute corner restaurant is absolutely delicious. I asked for medium spicy and it was pretty hot! Loved the eggplant which soaked up the amazing sauce. Pad Thai was fresh with large shrimp and plenty of crunchy peanuts. Will definitely be back to try the weekday lunch specials.

Needed carbs for dinner before a half marathon and glad we went here! The chicken pad see ew was flavorful and not too greasy. The service was really quick - they truly live up to the "Express" in the name! Seems like it is more of a takeout place but there were still quite a number of people sitting in for a casual dinner.

This is a really cute restaurant and the food was great! I ordered the pad kee mao and it tasted great, but didn't have any major stand-out qualities. I think it could have also been a bit spicier to add to the flavor. The service was great and the food came out super quickly. Would recommend if you're in the Castro and are craving Thai food!

Some of the best Panang ever. Weirdly does not come with rice. Slightly pricey but this dish was worth it.

Still one of the best noodle houses in SF Came back to this…read moreTenderloin classic on Ellis St and it continues to deliver. This family-run spot has been holding it down since the 80's with authentic Teochew-style noodles that taste homemade and consistent every single time. The braised duck leg noodles fall off the bone tender with that deep savory braise, paired with springy egg noodles and a side of soup or dry style. One thing that stands out here is that the broth is clean but packed with flavor. Hieu tieu hits that comforting rice noodle soup vibe with solid toppings and a light yet rich broth. Bo kho is excellent too, with tender beef brisket and tendon stewed in a thick tomato sauce that clings perfectly to the noodles. Service is fast and no nonsense. Portions are generous for the price and everything comes out hot. It's a classic hole-in-the-wall vibe in Little Saigon, so expect a simple setup in a run down neighborhood, but the food is the real reason people keep coming back. Hours are limited (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and parking can be a hunt in the Tenderloin, but it's worth planning around. Hai Ky remains a true SF noodle institution. Duck leg, hieu tieu, and bo kho never miss.

The second day I got chicken. All of it was super tender. It was absolutely delicious. I wasn't planning to eat all the noodles, but I did and no regrets. The taste is amazing and I still felt somewhat healthy after I ate it. I would highly recommend getting lunch from this place and I really hope next time I'm in the office they order from here again.

Decided to try the Happy hour at this Japanese place and was blown away…read more Its a small place, maybe 8 tables tops squeezed into this narrow space but it was fantastic. Gretted when we entered, we slid into one the few open tables. The decor was charming, and we were quickly gretted by our server with menus and water. My sister and I split some appetizer items so we could try various items, and every single dish was a taste sensation. The gyoza was crisp on the outside while packed with a savory meat, drizzled with sauce. The Karaage was tender chicken encased in a light fried pankostyle casing, also drizzled with a sauce, and the flavor, each bite was satisfying without being too filling. The Kabocha Kor, were panko fried pumpkin patties with a tonkatsu style sauce that brought the taste buds to a more earthier place . The Tokoyaki, were tender fried octopus balls in a sauce that I would have been happy to hunker down with a large bowl of and just crush, easily my favorite bite, which is saying something as no bute was bad . We closed with an order of Hotate, which was a grilled scallop skewer. Somewhere between sea and bay scallops in size, they were an awesome cap to the dining experience. With a this, I washed it down with a peach-weizen beer which was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. Every dish was fantastic in flavor, sauces, and texture. On top of all this, the service was excellent, and the happy hour prices very much in reason.

We started off with the Mekyabetsu (Brussels sprouts), Ba-Ra (pork belly), and Kobe (beef). The Brussels sprouts were my fav starter, and the sauce paired so well with it. The Ba-Ra was pretty good, but nothing amazing, and same for the Kobe, which I found to be a bit bland. We also split the Hokkaido Miso ramen. The broth had a great flavor, and the pork chashu was possibly the best I've ever had(!) as it was soooo tender and flavorful, and not very fatty. I did think the cauliflower left room to be desired, and kinda took away from the ramen overall. We finished our meal off with the matcha Panna cotta - this was a great dessert and wasn't too sweet ;) This place definitely seems to be pretty good at a lot of dishes, but not amazing at any single one. The vibe is great, service was great, and prices are a biiiiti steep but not unreasonable.
