I visited Regent Thai on a Thursday night around 6:30 PM and was seated immediately in their very spacious dining area. The service was fast; our waitress brought out the menus and a basket of complimentary shrimp chips right away. We ordered the Pad Thai with pork and the Ma Sa Man Neur, both of which were delicious and packed with flavor. Throughout the meal, the waitress was incredibly attentive, making sure our water glasses never went empty. There's only street parking around the restaurant and one clean bathroom stall. read more

Our company had a Going Away Lunch for a fellow worker. Our Director of Finance chose Regent That Restaurant. It wasa very good choice. Although I drove there with my VP, it is within walking distance of the office. Next time I go, I will definitely walk. Especially now that the weather is nicer. I can't remember what everyone had, but I'll review what I remember. For the table we ordered the Pad Mun (fried crab cakes). That was liked by everyone. The Deep Fried Spring Rolls were also a hit--very good. I had the Pad Khring (chicken) and it was excellent. The chicken was tender and the veggies were crisp. The zing of ginger is what put it over the the top. I usually order something like this my first time at a Thai place. If they get it right, I have faith that they can do well with other dishes. Regent thai was a quick easy take out spot on a random weekday night. This is not reminiscent of the most authentic flavors I've had, but is still delicious. I ordered pad see ew which I devoured before taking a picture that was quote flavorful but definitely leaned on the sweeter side. The gaeng phed pedal yang was a duck red curry that was very creamy and delicious, but not that spicy at all despite me asking for medium 2 chili peppers on the menu. Nice little neighborhood spot. I've been going here for years. It has had its ups and downs the past few years. I think if ownership changed but I don't know for sure. I wouldn't say it is a place you'd drive crosstown to eat at but if you're in NoeValley it's good. Very clean and the inside has been fixed up. I think I they could use more waiters. This place was clean and inviting. We were seated pretty quickly for Saturday dinner service around 6pm. I ordered the pra ram with brown rice, which has been a favorite dish of mine for years. This was my first time trying it here. The veggies were cooked perfectly and the rice came out shaped like a heart. My protein was tofu and I was a little disappointed in the flavor and counted (only) five bites of tofu. The peanut sauce was a light flavor and it could have been bolder. I am sucker for a good pad Thai! I was so excited to find a place that has pad Thai near us, only to find it wasn't quite as good as the pad Thai I've tried previously. Quaint little spot in the mission~ Food was good and they are able to accommodate big groups of people as long as you have reservation ahead of time. Decor was very cute and servers would regularly come up to us to checkin. They have a good selection of vegetarian items and can make a lot of stuff veg. They also had chips and a little dipping sauce in the beginning but unfortunately they are shrimp chips :( I got pad kee mao which was really good the flavor was def there they didn't come to play with the seasonings! and veggies were charred as well. I ordered pickup from Regent Thai and was disappointed by some of the dishes lack of flavor and small portions. - Som Tum (papaya salad): Very disappointed that more than half of the order was literally just plain lettuce. The papaya salad that was there didn't have much flavor - Pad Se-Eiw: Ordered this spicy but tasted 0 spice. Overall thought this was bland - Double Cook Roasted Duck: Small portion but phenomenal flavor - Gai Regent: Not crispy at all (could've been due to it being take-out). A bit too sweet for me but was overall yummy - Gaeng Khiew Warn: It was alright. Tasted a bit of spice and wish it had more - Tom Kha Gai: Phenomenal - Pad Thai: Kinda bland Overall I thought most dishes were bland and I was particularly disappointed by the stupid amount of lettuce with the papaya salad. As much as my heart is set on giving this place a good review, the misinformation on the menu earned this place 2 stars in my book. I skipped the lunch special (available everyday till 3 pm) and went for the vegetarian dishes listed on the menu. I also ordered the Tom Yum soup vegetarian. When the food arrived, it smelled different and upon questioning, it was confirmed that both dishes contained fish sauce. I have never had a restaurant use fish sauce in their vegetarian-explicit dishes. After getting the entree without fish sauce, we were told the soup could not be remade. None of the soups, papaya salad, the crispy tofu (listed as vegetarian), and addtl appetizers could be made vegetarian without fish sauce. Apart from that, the dish was fresh although just decent quantity for the price. The Thai tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. I Love me a good Thai food any day.. But this particular place we went to tonight was just okay! I wish I could give it a solid 5 stars but for some reason it was kind of off night for me?!? However..my hubby loved the food! I'll explain my version of why I didn't find this place spectacular?!! We didn't drive far to get there... So far so good when we got a parking right in front of the restaurant! We see from inside the windows there's a few people inside having dinner! As we enter in..I proceed to the front of the desk where I guess you let someone know you want a table?!? Mind you.. it was a pretty long walk up there!! Finally..this lady asked us if we're doing take out or dining in?? I tell her...we're eating here! Then another girl comes out from the kitchen..smiling finally @ us..and says..you can choose any table! :)) We sat down and the nice smiley girl gives us 2 menus..2 waters and this delicious little dish of crunchy shrimp chips and a dip which I liked! As we're chomping on the shrimp chips..my hubby looks @ the menu of what we can order! I can't really see coz I forgot my glasses! I'm sorry..I really needed my packets of soy sauce which I had in my glove compartment! It would be embarrassing for me to go get that so I just ate the food coz I was really hungry! Today was my first time trying this Thai spot! Its such a cute little spot. Right on the corner with lots of windows for lots of natural light. The menu has so many options to choose from. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, the fried veggie spring rolls and the Thai tea! All of it was exceptionally good! I have no complaints. They seemed to have a small staff but she was great! She checked in on us frequently and kept our waters filled and napkins on the table. She was really sweet and paid attention to detail which is always a bonus when your a server. I don't recommend anybody go try this place. First of all, the prices are HIGH and the portion of the food are very little. Not only that,the worse thing was I already tips them 18% and they charged my VISA 25%. We ordered the Pad Thai with Beef, Pad Sew You with Duck, Yellow Curry with Chicken and the Eggplant with Pork. These are usually our go to options for lunch and all are super good. The portions aren't the biggest but for the price of it, it is reasonable. The place is huge with cute plates. But the service was a bit slow, only because there was only 1 waitress doing everything. They used to have all these items in the lunch menu, however they have changed it and now the only thing on the lunch menu is the yellow curry. This meant that the eggplant didn't come with rice so we had to order a side of it. Overall I think this place is a good place for lunch! Would recommend it if you're around the area. read more

Due to rainy day, decided to get takeout. Ordered beef with broccoli, chicken in peanut sauce and one other dish. To my dismay, I basically paid $45.00 for brown rice and broccoli.
