I have mixed emotions about this restaurant. I was pretty excited to hear of a restaurant that offers vegan options. I am vegan; my significant other is not. So it's great to have mixed options. We went to this restaurant with intentions to each have dinner + order an extra vegan dish for me to take home as leftovers. The servers were great, the food was great, and the vegan menu options were plentiful. When we finished the meal, they quickly took the 3 dishes (2 vegan, 1 non-vegan) to the back to package FOR us before I could object. Anxiety intensifies. We get the packaged food back, and sure enough, my vegan dish has the bright red sauce from the non-vegan tangerine chicken inside........ The lady who packaged swears "no contamination" even though it's glaring at all of us. Then she says "It's just sauce it's vegan" and my boyfriend laughs "no..thats not how it works." The restaurant ended up remaking the meal to take home fresh at least but.... Moral of the story I guess is this place is great and has so many options. But I'm not sure I can trust them or their food preparation again. Maybe just a single bad server? The actual food was great. With any vegan dish, you choose the protein - Tofu, Sue-Jian (which is what most know as soy curls), Sue-Gai (a chicken-like soy product), or Sue-Yi (a fish-like soy product). I got the Vegan Hot Braised with Sue-Jian and this was my favorite of the two dishes. A little sweet, garlic-based sauce with a kick that stays with you. I also got the sesame chicken with Sue-Gai and it was just okay. The protein was underwhelming and nothing amazing. Seems like the dishes are hit or miss. read more

Looking for great tasting Thai dishes and equally amazing service? Thai House is hands down the best Thai restaurant around. Their Thom Kha... I wish I could swim in it. The chunks of chicken would make great flotation devices and I could drink self out... a weird description I admit, but the flavors of that their coconut Chicken soup is simply amazing. A must order item. Bangkok Grouper ... well... Bangkok anything is amazing. The staff are extremely accomodating and were happy to adjust the menu items to fit our needs. We've had Bangkok chicken before, too! Fried banana dessert is amazing too. They would make great pillows.... midnight snack material. Haha Go check them out. I think you will enjoy them. read more

I cannot express enough how much I love Thai House! Every time I think whilst plowing through a delicious meal from here, "hey I should post a picture of this incredible Thai Basil Fried Rice (Thai Hot)" I look down and there's not much left to take a picture of. "Oh that's ok, maybe I'll take a picture of what my kids are eating...pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp, or maybe I'll post how delicious my wife's Pad Thai is looking!" Without fail, we are simply too busy just crushing into the spices and flavors that were so loving placed into every dish that we just never post. Alas, I just completed another favorite triathlon of mine...the Thai House Tri which includes a delectable tub of Hot & Sour Soup, followed by Thai Fried Rice, and a great little fortune cookie washed down with spicy tears. I'll spare the excitement of showing everyone my empty delivery containers. Tonight's fortune cookie stated "you will have much to be thankful for in the coming year." Beautiful ambience and the food here is always fantastic. Fresh ingredients and nice presentation. The last two times I've been here though, the wait staff has left a lot to be desired. The waiter had a very unpleasant attitude. I said "thank you" three times and did not get a word or any kind of acknowledgment in return. If the service here was bad just once I would have left 5 starts. But two times in a row leaves me less satisfied. read more

I can't believe I haven't left a review! I've eaten here for years and it's still one of my favorite local Thai restaurants. I usually come here with my boyfriend for relaxing and intimate date nights. This is a place we mutually love going to. We're pretty familiar with the staff at this point, so it's always a good time when we go. We love catching up. Their staff very courteous and helpful! Even when it's busy, we've never have had a long wait. Last night, we shared the fried tofu and basil rolls and they were fantastic. The tofu was cooked perfectly. The sauce and fresh ingredients are what make these dishes for me. We usually get the coconut soup too- highly recommend! For our entrees, I got the Thai Basil Chicken and he got the Masaman Currry. THE BEST THAI EVER. Thai House is my absolute favorite Thai​ place I have ever been to. I now live in DC and make a point to come back here everytime I come home. As a vegan,​ I cannot be happier that they have a separate​ vegan menu. The sue-yi (mock fish) substitute​ is absolutely phenomenal. The texture and flavors are​ unlike any meat substitute​​e I've had. I beg the everytime I am in to give me the recipe or tell me where to get it but it is a house secret. My whole meat-loving​ family orders it and when they don't they always want a bite of mine. I get the same dish every time I come, the Vegan Rummit with Sue-Yi. They are also very helpful when it comes to dietary preferences, I always request my dish with no sugar and they are more than happy to make that change for me. The service was very nice. Prices were reasonable. Food (Thai Special fried rice) was a disappointment. There was a mountain of rice, maybe 2 scant tablespoons of frozen mixed veggies, 8 or ten thinly sliced, very small pieces of chicken, 3 shrimp and the sliced steak looked like kids play food (I did not eat that). It had been ages since I'd been to the former location. Honestly, the location and age of the building was mildly depressing, even though the food was good, so I'd end up somewhere else. But this space is brighter, newer, and nicer. And I feel like it makes the food taste better. I had the hot and sour soup and the Bangkok grouper with brown rice. Soup skinned over quickly, but had nice spice and was just the right portion. Crispy wontons were the flat and flaky kind. The Bangkok grouper was delicious, probably my new favorite Thai dish in the area. I've never been one to enjoy baby corn, but the slightly sweet flavor and crunchy texture complimented the spice of the curry and the texture of the lightly fried fish. I'll be back! read more

It's Thursday. You're feeling lazy after a hard day's graft, so you and your main squeeze decide to order up a tasty delivery -- and you're both craving some Thai food. Thai House seems like a safe bet, right? They've got some nice reviews, vegan options and a parade of good-looking menu items. Surely we were on to a winner! Unfortunately, we were not Charlie Sheen last night. After the food arrived, it was clear we were definitely NOT #winning. I ordered the vegan tom kha soup and an order of spring rolls; he had chicken green curry and some other fried thing. What arrived was most flavorless, bland, unseasoned and thoroughly lame Thai meal that has ever graced my table. The tom kha soup was filled with overcooked, mushy vegetables and, for reasons known only to Thai House, had an overwhelming flavor of broccoli ringing throughout. It looked like leftover buffet vegetables tossed in a can of coconut milk. In fact, that might have been better. Thai green chicken curry apparently means "a ton of green beans" to the wise chefs at Thai House. The chicken tasted mushy and slightly off. Additionally, despite the expensive price, rice was not included with the dish. Nowhere did it indicate it wasn't included, and I'm hard pressed to think of a Thai place that doesn't send it along with the dish. Spring rolls and curry puff thingies were declared "meh." All of this set us back about $45 with delivery fee. If you value your wallet, your tastebuds and your intestines, I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

We placed a carry out order of fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and pad see ew (sp?). All 3 entrees were tasty and cooked exactly as hoped. The chicken was lightly fried and was the right texture. The portions are generous. The person answering the phone was warm and responsive and the food was ready in 15 minutes. Every box checked off for cleanliness, service and flavor. So. Much. Food. The lunch portions are bigger than most dinner portions I see at any restaurant. You get a full sized entree with rice (you are not charged extra for fried rice), two spring rolls, two chicken wings, soup, wontons and plenty of sauces. All of this for around 8 bucks! I am a Thai food lover. I have eaten it all over the US and even in Dublin. The thing I have learned is that if a Thai restaurant has Chinese items on the menu then it's probably a Chinese restaurant disguised as Thai. I had Thai Basil with chicken. The chicken looked like playdough. The flavors were all wrong. If you see Chinese food on a Thai restaurant menu, leave. read more

If you are nervous about eating in a restaurant, I think you will find comfort in the precautions taken by Thai House. They request you use a tissue-like item (provided) to open the door. There is ample hand sanitizer. And staff has on masks covering their mouth and noses. I got carry out, but they have a nice patio for seating in addition to inside dining. Okay...on to the food. I had the basil roll appetizer. Very fresh and light. My Pad See-U dish was nicely flavored and had a combination of proteins. I was glad it was not overly spicy, although I'm sure they can spice it up for you if you prefer more heat. Parking is easy and free. Check them out. Stopped in for a late night Larb Gai right before closing and they were kind enough to accommodate us. The presentation of the food, especially my coconut soup and tableservice by the friendly staff was very nice. We ordered Nam sod and Larb and frankly really couldn't tell a difference in taste between the two although there are supposed to be several key differences.
