We were in Tooele at meal time and checked Yelp for a recommendation. We reluctantly settled on Thai House thinking that it was risky eating Thai in a small town. We walked in and the wonderful smells of classic Thai cuisine told us we had chosen well. The Penang beef curry was just the right heat (mild), rich and tasty. (If you liked hot just ask) The Yom Woon Sen was delicious. The sticky rice with mango was best I've had. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. We'll be back. read more

This was possibly the best Thai food I have ever had. The Tom Ka Kai was incredible and the Massamun Curry was delicious and unique. It was topped with walnuts which I thought was a nice touch. The peanut sauce was sweet and spicy and pretty much anything would taste good dipped in it. The only reason I did not give the full five stars is because I ordered a sticky rice custard and they left it out of my to go order. Since I am from out of state I couldn't really get a credit or anything. Other than the forgotten custard, I highly recommend this place. read more

My experience was something like this: I showed up and there was no greeter at the greeting station some lady from the back yelled "sit anywhere" the place is not very clean very outdated with a dirty fish tank in the middle and a lot of dust in the selling fan, and the table was sticky (nasty)!!! They don't bring you the kid chair to you, I went to get it from the back... Which was weird because all of this things should be basic!!! To get a glass of water takes about 5 to 10 minute wait... And we didn't even get silverware I stole it from a table near by. I'm giving 2 stars because the food was not great not bad it was just OK (eatable) I won't be returning. we have been coming here for years and always loved the food even through a few ownership changes. The last change has not been good. The only thing consistent is their ability to dissapoint. The food is not longer as vibrant due to having lost all flavor. The service is still reasonable just the quality of the food that disappoints. I've traveled everywhere--to major cities across the US and around the world and lots of small towns along the way. I absolutely love to try local eateries in every place I go. I've been traveling to Tooele, UT for the past 5 years for work, and from my first visit here, Thai House has wowed me with dish after dish of delicious Thai favorites. I was absolutely floored the first time I tried the place. You just don't expect to find authentic Thai cuisine on the edge of Utahn civilization! Their key? A Thai family runs and operates the place. They clearly know what they're doing. Best of all, I've visited about 15 times in the last 5 years, and the quality and presentation of the food is consistent and consistently awesome. The Lows? Are there any? Here let me see if I can scrape the bottom of the barrel... -Service: This has typically been pretty slow, but on my last visit in December, they had hired on some additional waitstaff, which sped things up considerably. I don't foresee this ever being a problem again. -Spice: Thai food is notoriously spicy. Just beware, when placing your order, that they may be a little heavy-handed with the chili. The Highs: -I'm going to go out on a limb and say that everything here is delicious. I recommend bringing a couple of friends and sharing family-style so you can try multiple things. -Spring Rolls and Satay: These are both outstanding appetizers. Spring rolls (shrimp, vermicelli, basil, and lettuce wrapped in a rice-paper wrapper) are light, and the peanut sauce is very tasty. The Chicken Satay (skewered marinated chicken) is tender and flavorful enough without sauce, but the accompanying sauces are delicious, as well. -Spicy Noodles: This is similar to Pad Kee Mao--wide noodles with basil, chili, tomato, and other goodies. Choose your meat and spicy level (they love to make this one really spicy), and enjoy! -Pad and Yum Woon Sen: These dishes are basically identical, but the Yum version is more of a salad (room temp with lettuce), and the Pad is strictly a noodle dish. Both are a mixture of clear noodles, egg, vegetables, and chili. Yum! -Kaow Pad: This is a pretty standard fried rice dish, but they add some magic. I recommend adding this one to your family-style dinner. Try getting it a little spicy, too. Amazing! -Beer: They serve it, and I'm here to drink it! :) -Servers: Even when this place is busy (5 to 6 tables full of guests), the servers have always been friendly. As I mentioned before, they've tended to be slow, but now that's gotten better. I'm really excited for this place! And, as with any place, I recommend trying at least one of the specials. This place is wonderful, and I really wish this lovely family would consider moving to Austin, TX so that I can enjoy their food more often than a couple of times every few years! If you live in Tooele and haven't tried this place (I realize a lot of residents haven't!), you really need to...you won't regret it! If you're visiting and bored at the other options Tooele has to offer (I've been there), try this place and you'll be hooked! read more

I am never in Tooele however, just happen to be passing through last week. Took a chance and stopped in to the Thai House. Had a lunch special. Really, really good. Great taste and a good portion. Walking into the Thai house in Tooele, Ut shows the attempt to create a wistful and exotic atmosphere, however once you look past the Buddha's on the walls to the Bob's talking fish you start wondering how it will taste. Once you can corral your waitress (I have yet to site an actual waiter) you wonder how good there English is and point at the number when you can't pronounce the name of the dish you desire. You can usually get your appetizers in a timely manner but depending on the traffic in the restaurant at the time you usually spend the time between appetizer and main course staring in the small open space to the kitchen. Most Thai foods have a rating of heat 1-4 these dishes are very good, they have a peanut/curry sauce that is an acquired taste and the portions are moderate for the price. Overall I rated it as "meh" due to the atmosphere and help. read more

I went to Tooele, UT for a race at Miller Motorsport Park and first found this place in 2012. Jumped right in and tried the currylicious Panang dish to my delight. Again the next year, went to the Thai House and the food was great again. Four years in a row and I have tried four or five things on the menu with a pleasing outcome each time. Just two days ago I had fresh spring rolls and a small bowl of Thom Ka Gy (sp) soup. It was delicious. Very quaint and clean. I've seen it dead and quite busy. If you are wondering if you should just order pizza and stay in the room think again. Call them and order it to go. You will not be disappointed. One of my favorite Thai Restaurants! I'm pretty sure we go here every time we come back to visit family. It's ran by one of the nicest couples. I rarely venture outside the pad thai or the pad see ew, but when I do the curry dishes rarely disappoint. Mango rice is always a beauty too if you have room. Based on all the reviews I was expecting more. Nothing against the service, but it wasn't the fastest. Rather what I am reviewing is the quality of the food. I am in no was saying that it is bad, but nothing spectacular. Got the teriyaki salmon. The fish tasted old, and it hadn't absorbed any flavors from the sauce. Egg rolls are delicious and my food was really good also! I got the number 26, my only complaint is that it was not very warm when I got it. Other than that the egg rolls were nice and hot and everything tasted great! I will definitely be back to try more things! There is a large menu selection and there is many other menu items that caught my eye! I was a bit disappointed because we wanted to try the wontons and the dinner salad but they were out of them both that day, however these things happen so I was totally okay with it because now I have even more of a reason to go back! read more

I didn't expect to find a decent Thai restaurant in Tooele, but I got a green curry here that was surprisingly good. I ordered it mild, and it still had just enough kick to it. My friend got sweet and sour chicken that was immeasurably better than the heavily battered, sickly sweet stuff you typically get at Chinese restaurants. The thing that honestly ruined the whole experience for me was the filthy fish tank in the back. It's hard to enjoy your lunch while watching an animal suffer, not to mention how unappetizing it is to watch the fish stirring up clouds of poop from the bottom of the tank. I imagine had I gotten a seat a little bit closer, there would have been an odor too. It probably hasn't been cleaned in months. Why a person would choose to put a fish tank in their business (and especially a restaurant) and not take care of it is beyond me. read more
