I've never tried Thai food before today and I want disappointed. I ordered the chicken wings for an appetizer and they were fire. One of the best wings in town right there with chicken shack. For my entree I ordered green curry chicken fried rice (Thai spicy) it was also delicious. Now I like spicy but the Thai spicy was a hair spicy for me and I would go with regular spicy next time. Service was good she was nice and explained the food good as it was my first time eating Thai. She suggest the green curry so that's what my girl ordered and I got the fried rice version. I've been going to the Thai Hut since Jenny and her crew were located on So.Market st. Jenny and her husband have been doing marvelous cuisine for 10+ year. My friends and I discovered the Thai Hut and went there for lunch 2-3 times a week, where this terrible virus struck 2 years ago we had no place to eat so our luncheon dates kinda went to o the way side. I tried many of the items on the menu but I always returNed to the beef salad but with a twist, they were kind enough to make it with whatever seafood they had on hand, the result was a delicious but lighter lunch fare. The service was excellent. It's kind of a cute place, but I got take out so I really didn't pay too much attention to that. But the food was just meh. The filling in the spring rolls was an indiscernible, bland mush ball. The Num Prig Pow was just ok too. The veggies were cooked ok, but no garlic flavor and definitely no spice. Dude. My Pad Thai was like $9 and it was INCREDIBLE and extremely massive. Wife and I came STARVING and neither of us finished. (We usually don't NOT finish our Thai food). I got "medium" Pad Thai (choices were mild and medium). I'm kind of a wimp, so it was actually too spicy for my liking. But it was massive and super tasty!! Wife got the Beef Pho. It had some excellent meatball and beef in there. I tried a bite and really liked it. Wife loved it! They came out with a spice tray for the Pho, and it had so many options! Sriracha, chili paste, soy sauce, jalapeños, etc! Great stuff!! Service was SERIOUSLY incredible. Smiles all around, and we were tended to like royalty. Joyful and attentive waitresses! Loved this place. Was visiting Redding for the weekend and decided to get some Thai. This place had good reviews so decided to check it out. We did not leave disappointed. Good portions, great flavor. Thai is one of my favorite types of food and having been to many Thai Restaurants this is one of the best I've been to. Food was great. Waite Staff very friendly and attentive. Small inside dining area, but there is extra seating in a front patio area. This is the best chicken satay I've had outside of Indonesian. The pad Thai was just okay. The waitresses seemed to be preoccupied with flirting with some customers. Was in the mood for soup on a cold evening and found this gem! Ordered spring rolls, seafood phó, and fried bananas. The spring rolls were made with fresh shrimp and paired with arguably the best peanut sauce I've tasted! I tried to figure out just what made the sauce so good and all I could think of is that maybe they add additional spices to it. The seafood phó definitely hit the spot. The broth itself would have made me rate this place 5 stars. It's pretty rare that you find a place with this good of a broth. As for the seafood, very fresh and plenty. Now for the best part, dessert. We ordered the fried banana dish with coconut ice cream. I'm an avid dessert eater and sweet tooth and was completely satisfied with this dish. The inside was soft and warm, and the exterior was lightly fried. The addition of the ice cream added a nice touch, however, eat it quick to avoid melting! First of, We've always had a great experience here. We recently recommended this place to a really good friend, that found metal in her food. Twice. Anyone ever bitten into metal shards while eating here? I'd like to say, Knowingly serving people food that may contain shards of metal is not acceptable. Once would have been an accident but twice in the span of two months should be alarming. Sad to say I won't be returning for a while. Mainly because they acted like it wasn't a big deal, That they were looking for a replacement piece while they continue to use something that breaks metal into our food. I will first off begin with how nice the girl who took my order was. I was in a rush so my first time experience with this restaurant was just a call in a pick up. However, the girl on the phone was so kind...I wish I got her name. She was also so sweet when I came in to pick up my order. I ordered the chicken pad thai. It had a slightly different taste than the pad thai I've had in the past. Also, I ordered chicken...and it came half chicken/half tofu. Luckily, I actually like tofu. But I can imagine how someone would react if they didn't like it. So, I'm not sure if the pad thai typically comes with tofu, or that was a mistake. I also had the crab wontons which were delish! Thai hut is one of the best Thai foods in Reading, if not the best in my opinion. It's a very busy small restaurant.It is family owned, and they try to do their best to serve customers as quickly as possible,which is a feat in itself with it being packed all the time so be patient and you will reap the rewards of good Thai food. I think you can really tell what a place is going to be like based on the crowd - and this place was poppin' which was surprising for a Thursday around 6pm. Ended up ordering take out once I got there, and I spent the wait watching the crowd and servers. Everyone was loving their food and the staff was so friendly! I've been to a lot of Asian restaurants. Honestly it's all we eat lol. We come here whenever we don't want to cook. We've had the ka soy which is really good, just remember to not wear white ‍ and the Kao Piek. I honestly have to say the Kao Piek was probably the best I've had at a restaurant. The noodles are actually thicker then most, and I've tried Kao Piek everywhere. Doesn't compare to when I make it at home and when I went to Laos but definitely the best I've had at a restaurant. Only minus 1 star because it is a small restaurant so when you have a baby it isn't very convenient especially since this place is always packed. read more
