Oh, YES!!! We have an abundance of good Thai restaurants in Redding, but Thai Hut holds a special place in the hierarchy. Consistently excellent and interesting dishes, efficient and friendly service, and very reasonable prices. Our Thai brother-in-law gives it very high marks as well. Being retired, we try to arrive at either 11:15 or 1:15 to avoid the lunch rush, and would recommend that to others. read more

The menu is small, but they work it to their advantage--allowing them to make a few things excellently rather than many things of lesser quality. I have had a few noodle dishes and the soup and it's all been amazing. The fried rice is outstanding. However, there are only about 9 tables in the building so I find it's either best to get for takeout (they do an excellent job packing the food to go for clean/non-messy driving) or come during an off hour so it isn't crowded. read more

Best Spring Rolls ever!!! Fresh ingredients, delicious peanut dipping sauce, crunchy, flavorful, amazing. I split the order with my husband. We also split an order of Chicken Yellow Curry with rice and Pork Drunken Noodle. They made the order gluten-free and without bell pepper; the flavors for each dish was deliciously different. I had a glass of their house Pinot Gris and it was the perfect pairing for everything. We plan to make this a regular stop on future trips through Redding!!!! read more

This place is small. 8 tables. I imagine most of their business is take out. Plus there is no AC. This is Redding in July. It's 109 outside and one swamp cooler isn't gonna cut it. Just saying. Anyway enough griping about non-essentials. It's the food that counts, right? My standard is Pad Thai. If a restaurant can get that right, it's generally good. Wellllll ... This place is alright. The food that I order does not taste like thai food but that doesn't mean that it taste bad. I guess I expected to be like any other thai restaurant. Maybe it because I ate at many thai restaurant before. I had order chicken pad thai and it taste nothing like the pad thai that I usually have, when I order in other thai restaurant. It taste like yellow curry. I think they should of just call it curry noodle. I also order papaya salad and I don't like it. It taste like carrots and lime juice. Was very disappointed. What the pho!!! This place is incredible. I love Thai food but had never had pho before. I ordered the large order of beef pho and since I had never had it before the waitress helped me to understand the spices to determine how I liked things and then actually just prepared it for me. We eat a lot of Thai food, but Thai Hut is hands down my favorite. Friendly, quick service and delicious food -- try the fried rice ball salad and drunken noodles with beef! I'm glad I have plans to go again tomorrow, otherwise just typing this out might send me into craving overload. Don't forget your Thai tea, or the coconut shake if they have it available! The location is the one not-so-great part. It's easy to miss if you don't know exactly where it is, and it's very small. This is my main place to eat out when I'm in town. I've really enjoyed many different items, and my daughter loves the Pho enough to order it each time. The service is delightful. It is very small and modest location, but that works for me. One downside (not horrible, but unusual) is that I've had some variation in a few dishes. They're not made the same way on different occasions. They've still been good, but there can be differences (maybe depending on who is cooking that night?). Regardless, I will return. read more
