Rather disappointed with my to go order today... ordered 4 things- stuffed chicken wings, fried spring rolls, Thai Kitchen fried rice with pork, and veggie drunken noodle. The first two items were fine but the rice was much smaller than it usually is and they put chicken in it instead of pork. Also the drunken noodle had no sauce or flavor! This is rather upsetting especially after spending $80! I've gotten to go food many times and have ordered these items before..... we called to let them know and they didn't offer any apology or explanation in return....prob not gonna waste my hard earned money at this place again. :( read more

We are visiting here in Tahoe City and just enjoyed such a delicious Thai dinner! My absolute favorite way to eat my veggies, for sure! We ordered the Pad See Eew with chicken and the Pad Prik King with chicken as well. My husband and I shared both dishes because we both loved it all so much! They got the spice level perfectly, just as we requested. Our server was attentive and the restaurant was clean, as were the bathrooms. I went to this place because some Yelp reviewers say their food surprisingly better than expected. I ordered Chicken Satay, Pad Thai w/ chicken, Catfish Delight, Beef Sautéed Pad Ka Tiem, and steamed rice. Out of these 4, my son and I like Pad Thai and the Chicken Satay. For me who have tried many different Thai restaurants in the US, their Pad Thai is pretty good although I had to ask for peanuts as it wasn't served with peanuts. The Satay is good. The Catfish didn't taste fresh and the cooking style is very much similar to the sautéed beef. Nothing but fish sauce and a lot of sweetness. Service was average. They sent Pad Se Ew rather than Pad Thai in the beginning. They also sent another wrong order to out table. I was promised for getting dried chili to spice up my plate. I didn't get it until I already finished my rice. Luckily our Pad Thaj came last , so I was able to use the dried chili for it. I had to take 1 star off the service. read more

Food: overall quality probably 6/10, but really hit the spot. Peanut sauce was the main driver here and it was delicious. As other Yelpers mentioned, flavors were definitely there though the dishes themselves aren't winning awards for freshness or authenticity per se. Pad see ew was incredibly sweet and served with what looks like mostly frozen vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, etc.), but the flavors of the noodles suited our palate and satisfied a craving! Ambience: 4/10. Nothing to write home about. We didn't see the saffron robes another Yelper mentioned, but not sure if we took his review too literally. Service: 8/10. We were seated and served relatively promptly. That said, we came at nearly 3pm for lunch, and we were practically the only party in the restaurant. We read some other reviews about service times being upwards of 30 mins and that makes sense; it seemed like there was just 1-2 waiters in the whole establishment. Bottom line: if you're craving Thai (or really any Asian food) in the North Lake Tahoe area, this is a fair pick. Great service first of all . My friends and I went to three places first for lunch and they all had too long of a wait or they just ignored us all together. When we arrived here they immediately greeted and sat us. my best friend has garlic and onion allergy and they were able to accommodate her easily because they make all of their sauces in the house. SO GOOD! Thai kitchen is a must stop and eat if you are in tahoe city! The food is amazing and always comes out piping hot, the staff is not only friendly but will go above and beyond to help you with what ever you need! The ambiance is exactly what you would expect from a Thai place, it's cozy and you feel like you're about to eat a perfect home cooked meal from your grandma. The only Thai restaurant in Tahoe City. Craving for some Thai food for dinner, this was the only one that showed up on Yelp in 15 miles radius. It's located in a very convenient location. Plenty of parking. We went there hoping to dine in but they are a take out only place. We were kind of disappointed, but had left with no other options but to order here. We ordered Thai Kitchen fried rice, Yellow Curry with Steam rice and the Pad Se Eew. And the wait time was almost 60 minutes. The guy who took the order promised to give a call back if the food is ready before that. We didn't want to wait there, so went out for a walk to the lake side. Came back in around 45 mins, and the food was ready. But never got a call. I asked the guy before making the payment about the call, he said he was too busy to make that call. coming to the food, they have packed it so well to keep it warm. I had to pick up the utensils I needed. But they added hot sauces in the bag. They even added couple more on my request as well. The Thai Kitchen Fried rices was so good. I wanted it without egg and they made sure no egg was added. The spice level was spot and it was delicious. I really loved the pineapple cubes in it; added some additional flavor to the fried rice. The Pad Se Eew was also really nice. One thing I noticed is the less usage of soy sauce. Normally chefs pour in soy sauce to the pad se eew to give that strong thai flavor. But this was done in a different way. I must say, it was so good to be that way. Spice level was at medium, so had to add a little bit of hot sauce to spice it up! really loved it! The yellow curry was nice. No excessive flavor of coconut milk has done the trick for that dish. The veggies were properly cooked and it was refreshing. With the steamed rice, so delicious! I wasn't happy that they mentioned no where that they are Take-out only. It wasn't just us, many were upset about that when they were told the same. Also they promised a call when the food was ready, but they didn't do it. No five stars just because of that. For the food, I would give 5 stars. Can't complain anything about it! read more

Pretty good Thai food in the heart of Tahoe City. However, some of the food items could use a bit more flavor and the chicken was a little tough. Looks like there's another similarly named Thai Kitchen restaurant in the neighborhood, so watch out when selecting which one to go to! Slightly different kinds of Thai cuisine offerings in addition to the typical Thai fares of pad thai, pad see ew, and curries. Our table took the risk to try their stuffed chicken wings, and it was surprisingly really good! ($12.95, recommended appetizer). Unfortunately, the rest of our meal was sub-par after that. They look understaffed, so food was coming out very slowly (including drinks). Half of our table got our curry dishes, and the other half was left waiting for at least another 20 minutes. The pad thai was extremely wet, dripping with sauce that should not be there in the first place. The spicy fried rice was also very wet and overly salted - to the point where we ordered more white rice to balance out the salt from the soy sauce. We won't be back to this location in Tahoe City if it looks like their Yelp reviews aren't trending back up. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Good Thai food in an unassuming setting. Came here with a group of six for dinner on a Friday night and luckily we were able to be seated right away. It's not fancy by any means, but it's popular with locals in the know. We ordered a variety of curries and noodles to share and we enjoyed it all. The yellow curry with tofu was the standout for me. Most of their food has vegetarian versions, which was very helpful. Service was friendly and responsive. We popped into this place on a whim and boy am I glad we did. I gauge a restaurant on the larb, I always order it. The chicken larb at this restaurant was phenomenal, I asked for level 8 spicy and it was perfect. Possibly some of the best I've had. My husband got the house fried rice and he loved it. Our experience - Our family walked in at 7:30 and requested a table. There was none available and the employee with two braids asked us to wait at the bench and chairs so she could seat us at the next available large table as there was no "wait list" or reservations. She said we had to remain present to stay in the queue. We waited 30 minutes and a large party (larger than ours) walked in and she seated them immediately while ignoring my kids who were patiently waiting on the chairs in the entrance.
