Service was fast since we were the only ones there (2:30p on a Tuesday) so expectations of fast service were met. The pad se-iew with chicken was ordered medium spicy but it wasn't spicy enough for me but they likely didn't trust my own meter when I asked for 3/5 spicy. Food is always fresh, great flavors. Everyone here works hard to get orders out quickly and they are very friendly even though they are always super busy during the tourist months. Not the best not the worst as others have said. It's the only Thai restaurant in Incline located off Village and the 28. We got food to go. It took me a while to get through to place an order. When I picked up the food it seemed there were only 2-3 people working, serving and cooking. They were wearing many hats. We ordered the Tom Yum which was good. The spicy eggplant with beef also good. My husband got the pad Thai which was decent. The red curry was a let down as it was very watery. Crab Rangoons were good but it's hard to miss on fried cream cheese . I'd go back and try other dishes but might plan on Truckee or Carson/Minden next time if in the area. Such terrible service. They sat us and did not give us menus. We got menus ourselves. We waited 15 minutes to order. The waitress was rude when taking our order. When we need to pay, no one ever came to check on us or ever offer to fill water through the meal. We had to stand at the front desk for 10minutes just to pay. I went here today to order food for my girlfriend. She ordered yellow curry chicken level 4 spice. At first, everything was fine. However while eating, she scooped up and saw something in the soup, she then saw it was a bug and asked me to confirm. Sure enough, it was indeed a bug which appears to be a mosquito. This place needs to make sure they cover their food so this doesn't happen to someone else. Worst part is that i left a tip for this place. Thai Recipe is definitely a five star little restaurant. They are understaffed, but the more than reasonable prices do reflect that. Even though there was only one waitress serving the whole restaurant, answering the phone, and dealing with the takeouts, she was very diligent, courteous, and attentive. We had their chicken satay, lettuce wraps with pork, green curry chicken, Panang curry beef, Pattaya seafood, spicy pork with green beans, Hawaiian fried rice with shrimps, and Pad Thai with chicken and shrimps. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The chicken satay was really tender and tasty. The Pad Thai was outstanding. The decor is Thai, very clean and comfortable. With eight dishes, a Thai coffee, and a big beer the bill was only $150.38 before tips! Hard to find prices like these post pandemic. I highly recommend Thai Recipe. read more

Thai recipe is the only Thai option in incline Village other than driving 30 minutes to Truckee. Some of their dishes are delicious. My favorite is the eggplant with beef In my opinion their pad Thai is just average. Their lunch special during the week is great. The ambience is nice with Thai decorations. This was a treasure find! It's a hidden gem in a small strip mall and unless you know where it is, you may miss it! Decor is basic but authentic. The service was good however our dishes didn't come out together. The food, however, was excellent! We quickly forgot about the timing of our plates to the table because it was so good! Absolutely fantastic spot in incline. This was my first experience here but I've been wanting to try this Thai spot out for a while now. I was not disappointed! As someone from the Bay Area, I'll say this can keep up with the flavors you can find in areas with more diversity. I think my spice level can take more heat then they offered--but this town is full of a specific pallet that can't take too much heat. I ordered pad thai, green curry, and tom Kha Gai. Each dish with chicken. The tom kha was very delicious, good balance of sweet and savory and love the use of cabbage to bring the dish more variety. lemongrass is always a huge favorite of mine. The pad thai was actually really really good! I've heard mixed reviews but personally would come here to order pad thai more often. The green curry was good, but im more interested in what the other curries have to offer. Restaurant is pretty, It styled Thai and has the comfortable warm feeling you'd get at a local family shop. Wait times will be higher, it doesn't take away from the experience but id rather you go in with the expectations--because the food is very worth it. Probably my favorite restaurant in Incline. I saw they open @5pm online, however the door was open and there were diners inside. So, I decided the internet was wrong and went on in. I was greeted right away, and shown to a table. I had not noticed that the door was discreetly shut behind me so that no one else waltzed in. When I heard someone outside attempt the door and fail, I decided to take a closer look at what it said online. About that time, my food was brought out to me. I ordered the chicken penang curry, level 3 of 5, and a Thai tea with coconut instead of dairy cream. When I apologized to the server for my mistake, I was told it's OK and they're happy that I was there. They made me feel like it was definitely OK, and I could sit and enjoy my meal without being too embarrassed. This restaurant is tucked in the corner of Incline Village, in a strip mall/restaurant row and the ambiance is very quiet and easy to have conversations with friends. The food, was amazing. I'd have to say this is likely the best penang curry I have had... Ever!!! The only thing that kept this from being 5 stars, there was something in the curry that I bit into that was an unexpected crunch, like a gristle piece. However, I feel this is a 1 off and would not stop me from ordering it again. Come to Tahoe and definitely stop here!!! read more

We were able to call them and place our order before they opened. We had the green papaya salad and larb (house special) to start. The two ended up being my favorites. The basil fried rice was a good sized portion, but I would've preferred some spice to it. I didn't care for the tofu in the green curry. We also ordered the evil jungle recipe (house special) for the novelty. It's a stir-fry that was quite spicy, but meh for it being a house special. We came in at 6pm on a Saturday evening. The place is incredibly understaffed and thus getting our food was unreasonably slow for a place that wasn't too crowded. It seemed like the chefs were prioritizing call in orders, because neither us nor any of the customers in the restaurant were being served for about a 30 minute period. When the food came it also was disappointing. The pork in the pad ke iew was very tough and hard to chew and there were also very few pieces. Service was awful. Food was fantastic. Typical Thai restaurant ambiance. They don't take reservations which is fine. But they also don't care if you are standing there waiting for a table. Nobody to greet or seat you. We were advised by one of the regulars (who was waiting in line to order to-go food) to just take a table. We did so gingerly and we were promptly questioned by the worker there if we have a reservation. Eventually they took our order after about 40 mins. Ok so this place is a hidden gem, if you're a local in the area , then you know. From first looks the place is a bit old school, when it comes to their ambiance it could be better maybe brighter but that doesn't take away from the quality of the food. The owner is never absent, I come a couple times a month with my family and she's always helpful when we order because sometimes we forget what we always get. The service is good but the real star of the show is their food. The Wong tong soup with chicken and vegetables has immense flavor and is my favorite. 10/10 The orange chicken is one of the best I ever have had. It's crispy and sweet 8/10 The shrimp fried rice with medium spiciness is top notch it has a good balance of flavors and a mix of umami 10/10. I also enjoy the vegetables they serve but those are pretty standard. Overall this restaurant is one of our favorites and you should definitely check them out. read more

Food was also horrible- the masaman curry had large chunks of onion in it, and it tasted like they put way too much peanut butter in the sauce. We also ordered a fried tofu as an appetizer and it was one of the blandest fried tofus I have had. They also messed up one of our orders, and insisted they brought us three rice portions (which should have been included with our entrees) when there were clearly only 2 (they combined them in a single bowl). Would not recommend. If you have had even decent Thai food, you will be disappointed by the food here. I imagine the positive reviews are from people who don't eat Thai food often. read more

Incline Village has gotten really fancy, and while my experience with Tahoe food outside of Truckee is that it's very hit or miss, this place looks nice, is very clean, and is busy. It was super close to our rental, and so we decided to try it. This is some of the worst food I've ever had. This was our cheat meal, and man, was it wasted. The crab rangoons were fishy and nasty. The dressing on the papaya salad was weird and imbalanced, mostly just spicey and salty, with no sweetness or sourness. The pumpkin curry was bland but inoffensive. I spit out the pad see ew, and we immediately threw the remaining food out. I paid for it the following morning. Maybe this was an off day in the offseason, but I would not give it another try. read more
