TWO pieces of Saran Wrap I ended up chewing in my sushi roll!

I ordered online on my way home from a friends house. I didn't realize this location doesn't do online orders, but that was my mistake for not paying more attention. I ordered 5 rolls - yam yam roll, Godzilla roll, crunch roll, spider roll and tempura vegetable roll. My fiancé ate the yam yam roll and liked it, but the Godzilla roll was just okay in his words. I started eating the tempura veggie roll and ended up with not one but TWO pieces of plastic wrap in my sushi from where they rolled it up and sliced it. One piece was fairly large. The rolls are huge, but honestly I didn't care for them. The tempura batter was slightly over crispy and the spider roll wasn't very good. I gave the rest to our dog. I spent $46 and we only ended up eating 3 of the rolls. Really disappointed after reading good reviews and ended up not eating all of it.

New menu than what was on here before! date 10.27.24. The one that was posted before was from 6 years ago and they do not have a lot of the rolls currently from the previous menu

Tai Pan is our household's favorite local spot for Chinese/Asian Fusion. My boyfriend (a self-proclaimed Almond Boneless Chicken connoisseur) says they have the best ABC he's ever had. Out of all the places he's ordered it, this is the only one I'll eat! We love the soupy consistency of the gravy, the chicken isn't over cooked, and the portion sizes are huge. So far, our other favorite items here have been the General Tao's Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Pepper Chicken, Pad Thai, and spring rolls. For a lighter option, we split the sushi Bento box #2 (California, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and salmon avocado rolls). Overall great service and consistent quality!

Tried this place for the first time. Ordered a wide variety of things, and to be brutally honest they were all misses. $50+ for 2 and everything was flavorless. Wonton soup - instead of the small folded wontons you usually find there were these huge potsticker looking things.... As another reviewer mentioned, they are identical to ones you can find in the frozen section at costco. Very hard to eat in a soup. Had a funny after taste. Egg drop soup - extremely salty!! Inedible. Crab Rangoons - undercooked, the bottom seemed doughy. Chicken pineapple fried rice (or Thai fried rice) - This is my GO TO dish at any Asian/Thai restaurant. The rice had zero vegetables (see photo). It was sweet with so much pineapple and not at all savory. Couldn't taste the curry and the lack of vegetables was extremely disappointing. I've never had fried rice without vegetables, and Thai fried rice is usually loaded with peppers, onion, carrots. The chicken was hard and tough. This was my entree and I couldn't eat it. Straight in the trash. Massaman Curry - when she took my order, it should have been a red flag that she didn't ask a spice level. I asked and she said it's medium. Medium, ok that sounds good. This curry has zero flavor /spice. We do have some red curry paste we can stir in for leftovers and hopefully salvage this dish. The onion and potato chunks were huge! A little weird and unmanageable for a curry.... Overall, any restaurant selling sushi, Thai, and Chinese should have been a red flag. I figured how could they screw up fried rice? Apparently it's not that hard to do! Do yourself a favor and visit any other Thai food place in town if looking for food, flavorful Thai food.

I really wanted some sushi for lunch and stumbled upon this spot. I found out that's it's only been open a month but that didn't stop me from placing an order. The woman on the phone was SUPER nice and explained everything very well since I was very specific (and slightly complicated haha) with my sushi orders. I ended up still being very basic and ended up getting an Alaskan Roll, Classic Roll, and Tuna roll. The more avocado the better! Everything tasted fresh and tasty. I'll definitely be back. Can't get enough sushi.

I'm newer to the area so I've been looking for an Asian restaurant that hits the mark. This restaurant is a sister restaurant to Tai Fai in Oak Park. Tai Pan's menu is a little different, but they have a lot of options for sushi along with a few "Chinese American" options. It's exclusively takeout, but I'd definitely recommend as one of the better Asian restaurants in the area.

It's always hard to find really good Thai/Chinese food but this place is definitely worth stopping in to. Generous portions, friendly faces, and pretty delicious food. A bit confusing when you're searching for Tai Fai but find out their sign says Tai Pan. Worth it and will be back to try some other dishes!

Just ok. Watery & rather tasteless Pad Thai. Much better options in the area as far as we're concerned.

Food was ok, this really is a takeout place though they do have some seats. Probably won't go back but the staff seemed nice.

Hong Kong Express I…read morereally wanted his place to be good. I've lived in Saginaw for about 20 years of my life and we make some good Chinese food. I've had the best Chinese food. Bar none. I've been a dishwasher for a good Chinese restaurant, waiter, and a cook. I know my menu and how each dish should taste. Here we go. Another test. Can this place live up to the name? Let's go. Small place. Express only. Few chairs. The woman at the front desk was very nice. Good service. Service with a smile. I ordered Pepper Steak and Szechuan chicken. The two basic dishes. Pepper steak tasted correct. Spot on. Szechuan was clearly off. Did not taste correct. The sauce was more like sweet and sour. Clearly the wrong sauce. I really had high hopes. Another disappointed. You might enjoy, but to me, I'm still looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant. Not here. I see a lot of customers. It's sad they don't know what good Chinese food is. I also want to express that this place gives small portions of meat. "Dragon Palace" in Vassar gives huge portions of meat and everything. That's what sells. Cutting corners does not sell. My Szechuan dinner was basically all veg and hardly an meat. Yes, I can see the difference. Hit up "China 1" in hazel park, MI for excellent Real Chinese food. Also try "Dragon Palace" in Vassar, MI for great Real Chinese food. Enjoy. To each his own. Highly Recommended

The Crab Crunch Roll wasn't a big hit amongst friends as the coating on the outside of the rice has a funny taste that we just didn't love. Oak Park Roll was a nice twist on a California roll, the pineapple added a nice sweetness! And both the Eel Avocado and Dragon roll were delicious, though I absolutely love eel so I am biased. It looks nice inside and the kitchen is something like an open concept. There is seating inside but I don't think it I'd ever want to dine in, this definitely feels like a place you only get takeout from. We ordered online and their website told us it would be about 15 minutes, but it wasn't ready until 45 minutes after we placed our order. Maybe it's just an automated responses from the website to guess your wait time, but this could be really frustrating if you show up and expect your food to be ready and half to wait another 30 minutes.

I have come to really appreciate and enjoy the food here, please continue to be excellent. We got a carry-out order with so much. We got the fried potstickers, so crispy and delicious. We got the crab meat wantons, I am craving them right now, so crispy and yummy. I got the calzone sushi, it was crunchy on the outside and creamy delicious on the inside, I want this one every time. We got the Philadelphia roll, a summer roll with jalapenos, a cucumber and avocado roll, and the most surprising delicious treat, a crunchy chicken roll, another must have. We also got a side order of lo mien noodles, they are so good and savory, I love an order of this every time. The people working here were so kind and the portions were huge and the prices were great. We were able to order, walk around Meijer then come back and get the food with ease. Since my first time, I have stopped by a few times, and one child comes here all of the time with friends. It is a neighborhood staple.
