If u live by the areas called "Town Square and LCC + Stagecoach." You are fucked because while eating outside in a shady area at Thai One On with my brother, my mom, and my grandparents..... Suddenly my grandpa talks about the latest NBA Basketball game... He pulls up a random ass video on his phone.. and turns the volume up and raises it up to the rest of the customers... Me and my grandma were awfully ashamed, even though my mom or my brother did not care whatsoever.. then a couple next to our table and the boyfriends girl literally yelled at everyone including me, & my grandma and she said "I'm trying to call my sister and your going to annoy us to start this whole thing about some stupid sport game." My grandma said "well, we don't want to hear your complaints about your shit than ours." So then the boyfriends girl turned away with a bossy attitude about my grandparents and their family (including me, my brother, & my mom) How mean is it to yell in front of one 14 year old brother and one 15 year old brother. I ended up laughing my ass off when my grandma started yelling back and forth one time... Wow, what an experience. I have been here a couple of times for an after work drink, and between the "manager" and what I found out is his son, I have never felt more uncomfortable. It is obvious how the hiring process goes after watching the person in charge ogle the young women working there. Which is bad enough, however to top that off you have his son screaming at them for everything they do. ( I only know it is his son because I asked the bartender, whom seemed more managerial, why he was being such a Gordon Ramsay ripoff.) I had a brief conversation with the manager I believe his name was Shawn or John, I couldn't hear him quite right between slurred words, but he was starring directly at a servers backside and chest the entire time. I would like to point out the kitchen seems to do an excellent job but are under a direct tyrant. I have eaten at many a Thai place and love the cuisine at those however if you want something with an atmosphere that doesn't revolve around misogyny and the sexualization of younger women, heed my advice search elsewhere. If I were able, after my few experiences at Thai One On in Carlsbad, I would call in a professional Human Resources manager and have them discuss the importance protocol. I am so angry that my review kept getting removed! I might've came off and angry and used profanity, so I am going to write it professionally! My server was the worst! I came here on the first night of opening. I ordered an appetizer, The utensils were very horribly cheap with a metal taste. I ordered a sushi roll which the kitchen had messed up on and yellow curry. My order took way too long. Curry was brought out without the beef, I asked my server to take it off the bill since I did not even touch it. She said no and I got irate and frustrated. Since my sushi roll did not come out, I was very anxious I wanted to leave the restaurant without paying a penny and storm out! The owner was close by to me so I didn't have the guts! My server was unprofessional and passive aggressive. My bill came around $56ish, I slammed it down 50 cash without tip and I just stormed out of here. Screw this place! Do not ever remove my review! Thai food is sometimes hit or miss, overly spicy or just spicy. Our palates were pleased with today's serving of a bunch of some really AMAZING Thai specialties, one after the other. Yeah, maybe just a bit as spicy as a drunken noodle napping on some Thai peppers, that is to be expected, I mean, they call that city Bangkok for a good reason, I guess, (never been there)! My Thai friend also thought the same, assuming the chefs are a mixture of Thai homies and/or others who have honed the time honored recipes. To be sure, Thai One On was a hit today, and most everyday of the week! Thai one on is a GREAT idea any day of the week, clean, drunk or sober! I read those comments about some supposed health mentions, you can throw that un-THAI-LY stuff out the window, a very clean and stringently followed code of health was as strong as any I could have noticed to these round eyes. I discovered a small metal wire in my takeout order of drunken noodles. While chewing, I accidentally bit down on it, but fortunately, I did not swallow it. In an effort to address the issue responsibly, I reached out to Thai One On's management team (management@thaioneon.us) to report the incident. However, after 8 days, I have yet to receive any response--no apology, nor any indication that they plan to take greater care in the future. I sincerely hope that no one else experiences something like this, as it could pose a serious risk to others. read more

We have come to this restaurant multiple times now and I'm actually writing this review after finishing a fantastic meal here at Thai One. I highly recommend this place and it is becoming a local haunt for us. We really like the staff and the owner is John Adams. How can you go wrong with a restaurant owner named after one of the best presidents that ever lived. Seriously though the food is great, the service is excellent, and the only downside is that this place will start to get busy very quickly because it is so good. read more

We had a great experience at Thai One On. We were immediately welcomed with warm smiles and seated at the sushi bar. We frequent their other location in Vista quite often. Their food and service is excellent. We tried the Big Eye tuna and Kampachi. Both were excellent and sourced from Catalina Offshore Products. The resturant is beautiful and vibrant. I look forward to coming back and trying more things. I highly recommend this place, it is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. read more

One word. Wow! We sat at the sushi bar and did the Omakase. I can honesty say this is the best sushi I've ever had. The dishes were absolutely delicious and beautiful. Our server was amazing. This restaurant has been many concepts since I lived here. It was previously a fast food Chinese restaurant. It has been beautifully remodeled. We came in for Thai Food, but was informed they also had sushi. We ended sitting at a table and ordered both Thai food and Sushi. The highlights were the La Costa roll and the Pad Thai. The La Costa roll was one of the best rolls I've ever had. We will be regulars here. read more

Wow! Me and my wife came in here last night for the Sushi. The owner was extremely knowledgeable . We were immediately greeted with warm smiles. We sat at the sushi bar and were impressed with the fish in the sushi cases. Our Sushi Chef was amazing, his food blew us away. Our normal spot Blue Fin in Encinitas doesn't even compare. The food was excellent but overpriced IMO. The portions were quite large so we could have ordered half of what we ordered and shared so then it would have not been so expensive.
