Love this hidden gem in Healdsburg. Fresh sushi and friendly staff. Small outdoor seating but I always opt for the sushi bar. Nice selection of sake too. Give this place a try!

My girlfriend and I have been coming here for a very long time. Some of the best sushi we've had and it's always fresh. The manager, Frank, is incredible and always makes sure that we are well taken care of. My favorites are the Carburetor Roll, Martini Prawns and Miso! There's plenty of space for parking out front and we never have problems finding a spot. Great restaurant, we always look forward to coming here.

Beautiful Martini Prawns set on the table.

Trying a new sushi place that was open. Server staff prompt and courteous. Surprised to see martini prawns on the menu - we ordered this, yelp favorite Utah roll, staff recommended Spicy Tuna roll, miso, California roll and tuna nigiri. Miso came out immediately and HOT! Really nice flavor and rich coloring. Martini prawns - what a mess. Tough, strangely battered dry prawns, luke warm at best swimming in a mayo sauce that lacked depth of flavor. Total disappointment. For great martini prawns - royal China off piner rd. California roll was fresh and full of flavor. One of the better California rolls I've had. The Utah roll was decent - I'd get this again. Spicy tuna with fried chili strands - pretty but loaded with sriracha sauce, chili seeds and deep fried. Would not get this again, Just heat over powering anything else. Tuna nigiri was not pleasant - fish was mealy and had a funny taste. Service was good, but we won't be coming back,

The sushi chef, his sous chefs and the staff lead a splendid night. Each step was curated in its own way with descriptions for anything we ate, origins, and the connection with the chef. Things started outside in a waiting area with an introductory drink and appetizer. Once things were ready to go inside, we were ushered in and had name places for each of our seats for the evening. If you needed to use the restroom there isn't one organic to the space and you had to go back into the main hallway. We were given 16 courses of fish listed on small chalkboards along the back wall, and then dessert to follow. Everything tasted delicious. My partner had gotten the sake tasting to go with it which added nicely with the food. My favorites for it were the tuna tail, miso steamed egg, hamachi, the shrimp, and the baby octopus. The tuna tail was such an interesting presentation, and the flavors were simple and clean. The miso steamed egg was just comfort. The hamachi melted with how it was prepped with each bite which was great. The shrimp was really fresh, and easy to bite through. The baby octopus tasted amazing, simply seared and was so easy to eat. A number of ingredients were flown in fresh, or from Japan as they added to the dish. The wasabi was also fresh but locally sourced from the US. It was amazing to hear all of the small details that went into each piece and the inspiration behind the dishes. Certainly, a beautiful experience and some of the best sushi also in the area.

Cookie was as big as my hand! Crispy edge, soft inside. 10/10 for that cookie. The chicken salad was really good. Large chunks of chicken, mayo, some spices -not sure what. Consistency was perfect. Loved the pumpkin seeds for a little crunch. Definitely the best chicken salad I've had in a long time. And nice on the bread. Lettuce could have been there or not, didn't add anything for me. Simple, effective. The turkey pesto was kind of basic, but the addition of the dill and the very fresh bread did do something for me. I think I'll be adding dill to my pesto sandos now? Anyway, solid sandwiches. Wouldn't say it blew me away and they are a bit small for a $20 sandwich, but here we are. Would come back for the baked goods and fresh breads.

It's true that one could purchase a serviceable used car for what it costs to dine for two when including basic wine pairings. If dropping $2k on dinner and wine seems like an absurd or rapacious proposition, SingleThread certainly isn't for you. If on the other hand it seems like a rounding error or a perfectly reasonable leisure tariff, you're probably going to love every last minute of it. Because the meal was so elaborate, I won't go into detail other than to say it was brilliant. Out of the dozens (literally) of dishes we sampled, only one was poor; it had clearly been over-salted by accident. Otherwise, every moment of the evening was pure, flawless bliss. One thing that I could be persuaded to agree with is that the overall volume of food is a tad too much. They could easily do with one less savory dish and the elimination of the second round of desserts. As it stands, I walked out feeling somewhat uncomfortably full. First world problems though, right? All things considered, SingleThread is a grand slam home run in nearly every respect. And that includes the warm and highly attentive service, the lovely interior architecture, and the welcoming rooftop garden. I will not hesitate to recommend this amazing culinary oasis to friends and family for a long time to come.
