Love this hidden gem in Healdsburg. Fresh sushi and friendly staff. Small outdoor seating but I always opt for the sushi bar. Nice selection of sake too. Give this place a try!

My girlfriend and I have been coming here for a very long time. Some of the best sushi we've had and it's always fresh. The manager, Frank, is incredible and always makes sure that we are well taken care of. My favorites are the Carburetor Roll, Martini Prawns and Miso! There's plenty of space for parking out front and we never have problems finding a spot. Great restaurant, we always look forward to coming here.

Beautiful Martini Prawns set on the table.

Trying a new sushi place that was open. Server staff prompt and courteous. Surprised to see martini prawns on the menu - we ordered this, yelp favorite Utah roll, staff recommended Spicy Tuna roll, miso, California roll and tuna nigiri. Miso came out immediately and HOT! Really nice flavor and rich coloring. Martini prawns - what a mess. Tough, strangely battered dry prawns, luke warm at best swimming in a mayo sauce that lacked depth of flavor. Total disappointment. For great martini prawns - royal China off piner rd. California roll was fresh and full of flavor. One of the better California rolls I've had. The Utah roll was decent - I'd get this again. Spicy tuna with fried chili strands - pretty but loaded with sriracha sauce, chili seeds and deep fried. Would not get this again, Just heat over powering anything else. Tuna nigiri was not pleasant - fish was mealy and had a funny taste. Service was good, but we won't be coming back,

It was a cool day but perfect for ramen and hot tea. The service was excellent. We had questions about the green pea micro greens and the owner, Tai brought us sunflower and cantaloupe micro greens to taste. They tasted just like the flower and melon but intense. I love to learn about new flavors.

I liked the cauliflower one we got, along with the beet salad. I would say that the tapas are on the larger size. We also ordered the fried chicken meal which was delicious but too much food for two people! It comes with a delicious kale salad as well. Making reservations was so easy and the woman I spoke with was very accommodating! When we arrived they sat us right away and were prompt on getting our drinks! Our server was hilarious and really on top of it. We ordered the little neck clams in butter and beer broth and wow they are incredible! We also got the little gem salad and the sourdough (this is a must) and we got the daily ceviche which was halibut with peppers. My partner got the hanger steak and it was cooked to perfection. She only gave up one bite to me but boy was it good! In the past we have also had the kale Caesar, the clam strips, yellow tail ceviche, and fresh oysters. I have not had a bite of food there that I did not enjoy. The place is shaped a little weird and some seats are more desirable than others. We love the booth (you pretty much have to make reservations to get one) but it is worth mentioning that we are both pretty average size people (maybe a bit more than average if I'm being honest) but anyone who is on the bigger side probably wouldn't fit in the booth. It's a really tight squeeze getting into them because they have these little wall things that come out a tad too far. It is great people watching from there though! They also have beautiful outdoor seating! Overall this is 5 stars for me. If you love seafood and good service you have to check this place out!

We knew immediately this was going to be a special night. We went all in with the chef's prix fixe menu, and it delivered from the very first bite. Warm, homemade dinner rolls -- fragrant with thyme, garlic, and chili flakes, served alongside pillowy whipped butter -- set the tone perfectly. We loved them so much we asked for a second basket without a moment's hesitation. The Sonoma County Organic Salad that followed was nothing short of a revelation: crisp Little Gem lettuce, Pioneer Micro Herbs and edible flowers, beautifully shaved vegetables, whipped fromage blanc, and a Green Goddess dressing that tied it all together with effortless elegance. Perfection is the only word for it. For our entrées, the Petrale Sole Meunière was a masterclass in refined, soulful cooking -- the Costeaux sourdough croutons, potato fondant, haricot verts, and caper beurre noisette working in perfect harmony. And the pork porchetta with nduja? Cooked flawlessly, bold, deeply satisfying, and utterly memorable. We paired the meal with the Valette Rosé of Pinot Noir, which has instantly earned a place among the finest rosés we've ever tasted -- vibrant, nuanced, and a dream with every course. Dessert brought the ItsNotA 'Snickers Bar' and the Almond Frangipane, both executed brilliantly and the ideal sweet finale to an extraordinary meal. Valette isn't just a great restaurant -- it's our new favorite dining destination, full stop. We'll be back, again and again.

It's a great room with good energy and although I was expecting more of a white tablecloth experience, it was casual, which was fine. Unfortunately, my entire entree (sole meunière with green beans and fondant potatoes) was uniformly bland...no trace of salt or seasoning whatsoever. The entire dish was blah. I can't remember the last time I complained about inadequate seasoning, but when it's nowhere to be found, it's hard to ignore. The beans were pretty much raw. I enjoy bright green beans served al dente beans, but raw? No. The fondant potatoes were anemic (zero golden color, zero confit). All three pieces seemed steamed, steamed unevenly, and served cold. One of the three fondants was very firm and barely cooked. I needed to cut it with a knife. The other two were fork tender but alas, cold and flavorless. Honestly, it was kinda weird that all three components of this dish were just so darned boring and lacking temperature. I had only started my meal when I told the server about my impression of the dish. He took my feedback cheerily and said he'd let the chef know for future reference, but no "How can we fix this?" It was a bummer. When eating a classically delicious dish feels like punishment, something's not right. On the bright side, the server had a very nice manner. The room was lovely and had good energy. The menu was priced lower than we expected. And the chilled english pea soup was absolutely delicious. So Valette is capable of getting some things right. I'm not sure whether to chalk it up to "off night" or poor quality control in the kitchen. I guess both, maybe.
