So happy to have them in the northland now! The food is the real star of the show here, with dishes loved by many local athletes and I can see why! The space is so beautiful you feel transformed when you walk in to a beautiful oasis! And the staff were great, on top of everything and wonderful service

(5/5) Thai Orchid in North Kansas City is an absolute gem--and honestly, it might just be the best Thai food in the Kansas City area. From the first bite, you can tell everything is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The flavors are vibrant, balanced, and consistently on point. Their cocktail menu is a standout. Drinks are well-crafted and complement the food perfectly, making it a great place whether you're there for a full dinner or just to relax with a few drinks. Happy hour is another major plus--excellent specials that actually feel like a deal and give you a chance to explore more of the menu. The ambiance pulls everything together: warm, inviting, and stylish without trying too hard. It's comfortable enough for a casual outing but also works really well for a date night. Overall, Thai Orchid checks every box--fresh ingredients, excellent cocktails, great value, and a welcoming atmosphere. Easily one of the top dining spots in KC, and very possibly the best Thai food in the city.

I had the pleasure of taking my family to eat at this establishment and we loved the ambiance. We ordered several dishes and all tasted delicious and refreshing. The staff was very friendly and patient. I had all my kiddos with me and appreciated how fast the food came out. Feel free to see some pics of a few dishes we ordered.

I've been craving a good Thai place and found this place on Google to be the best in the northland area! I can confirm it is indeed delicious and worth the drive for those far. I ordered the Basil Fried Rice and it was amazing! Jimmy & Chris were kind enough to have it made without soy sauce due to my gluten allergy and for my meat to be well done. Portion size is great and enough for leftovers. It came out steaming hot just the way I prefer my food. I'm definitely coming back and recommending to family/friends!!

This place is very spacious and beautiful natural light. The vibe is very welcoming. And they have plenty of parking spots. We came in for lunch, and I was surprise to see how big their lunch menu is. A lot of great choices. The sticky wing with papaya salad and a side order of sticky rice were the perfect combo of sweet, savory, and saucy. I would highly recommend getting this!

The food was amazing and the portions are definitely generous! The service is top notch. They know the menu inside and out. The space is warm and welcoming. I'll definitely be back and I'll be bringing the rest of the family.

First time into Thai Orchid with some friends last year. Thai restaurants usually have vegan-friendly options but the helpful icons on Thai Orchid's menu (to indicate spicy/GF/vegan) were much appreciated and simplified the ordering process. Empowered by the icons, I deviated from yellow curry and tried the PAD PAK stir-fry. Yum! Friends also enjoyed the: Ga Prao, Tom Kha, and Braised Beef Khao Soi.

Met a friend here for dinner on a Friday evening around 530. There isn't a lot of parking in the immediate lot and I had to park in the parking lot a ways away. We were seated quickly and bought waters. Our service was good, not overly talkative or friendly but efficient. We had the Thai Orchid sampler, everything was fresh, I really like the dipping sauces. I had their Thai Heat Margarita and it was very good just not big enough. I ordered the double delight stir fry mild and my friend had the chicken pad Thai level 3 spice. Our food was good and they give you a decent amount. No complaints. They were starting to get pretty packed when we left close to 7pm. I think this restaurant is a nice addition to the area.

I'm always happy when a successful Johnson County restaurant opens a second location in the Northland--and Thai Orchid is a welcome addition. Thai Orchid clearly knows how to deliver outstanding Thai cuisine. Service was excellent from start to finish, with great pacing and no hiccups along the way. Our server Abby did a fantastic job helping first-timers navigate the menu. Fortunately, I had done a little homework beforehand and scoped out several highly recommended dishes from other Yelp reviews--and those suggestions absolutely paid off. We kicked things off with cocktails. The Asian Pear Sake Punch was refreshing and lightly sweet, and the Lychee Martini was so smooth and flavorful we ordered a second round without hesitation. For starters, we went with a trio that Thai Orchid seems to be known for. The Crab Rangoon was hot, crispy, and generously filled--not overly sweet like some versions. The Crispy Spring Rolls were light and crunchy, served with a nicely balanced dipping sauce. The Basil Wings were the standout for me--crispy, aromatic, and coated in a savory basil-forward sauce that had just the right amount of kick. For entrées, I ordered the Crying Tiger Fried Rice at medium heat. The beef was tender, the rice perfectly seasoned, and the spice level built gradually without overpowering the dish. My wife chose the Pad See Ew with chicken, mild heat. The wide noodles were soft with just enough char, and the sauce struck that ideal balance of savory and slightly sweet. We couldn't resist dessert--and I'm glad we didn't. The Fried Banana with Ice Cream was warm, crispy, and comforting, while the Apple Wontons were a fun twist, with a crisp exterior and a sweet, cinnamon-forward filling. We can't wait to return. Thai Orchid has quickly earned a spot on our regular rotation, and it's great to have this level of Thai cuisine right here in the Northland. Highly recommended.

North, you real lucky! Jon and his team have brought the flavor, the cocktails and the beauty to the northland. I love the decor and natural lighting in this spot. You can tell they really care about what they put out for your meal. I will drive up north every time. The staff is amazing and remembers you. A fun way to try new dishes and flavors.

I recently visited Thai Orchid's new Northland location and was truly impressed! The space is beautiful with a warm, inviting ambiance that makes the dining experience even better. The cocktail menu is fantastic. I tried the Lychee Martini and the Thai Espresso Martini, and both were delicious with great presentation. We started with the Thai Orchid Sampler, which included spring rolls, crab rangoons, and crispy rolls, along with the coconut shrimp. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. For our main dishes, we tried several items: the Tiger Garlic Fried Rice, Shrimp Pad Thai, Papaya Salad, Pad Kee Mao, and Beef Khao Soi. Every dish was packed with flavor and tasted authentic. You can really tell they put care into every plate. We ended with the Fried Banana & Ice Cream, which was the perfect sweet finish. Overall, Thai Orchid Northland is a wonderful addition to the area great food, beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, and a menu full of standout dishes. I highly recommend checking them out! The food is hot and fresh. Server was entertaining and gave tips on what others liked and what she liked. It's a decent size restaurant and very tidy. Lots of seating. Thought the prices were decent and good size food portions. I'll be back. Went medium on heat. I'm going hotter next time.

The Orchid never disappoints! I've been there multiple times and every visit has been consistently amazing. The service is always great, the food is delicious, and the ambiance makes it such a nice place to relax and enjoy a meal. They also have really good drinks and a great happy hour. Definitely one of my favorite spots and a place I'll keep coming back to!

I depended on them during allergy season when I was out of Flonase or it didn't work, to help me breathe, fire, if nothing else. Case in point, tonight I ordered three different spice levels from the hottest to medium, none of them had ANY spice to them. Delicious yes, but seriously where did the heat go? Disappointed again. Anyways, onto the delicious food and top notch experiences I've had at Chingu over the past few years as well as, the standout final service I was lucky enough to experience last night. I have attended a few pop-ups at Chingu and community events like these really made this Westport restaurant stand out and shine. One that sticks out from 2025 is when they graciously allowed Lisa Nguyen take over the menu and ramen-i-fy it. This was not for the faint of heart concerning spice...so, my mom suffered. But, if you were willing to test your spice tolerance this was a fantastic pop-up. We especially loved the ramen spring rolls and the spice dusted pop corn chicken. On the closing night I went with three small plates and one drink. All made such a lasting impression that I'm sad reminiscing on the retired flavors but my taste buds are still tingling. The mandu, the fried dumplings, were delicious with succulent savory filling with soy and garlic. The bugolgi cheesesteak sliders were huge! So filling that I could barely finish one but, the decadent meat was spilling out of the sides and the rich sauce was creamy and oh so good, all tucked between buttery buns. Two of these bad boys plus a pile of spiced fries were heaven! Last but not least was the Korean fried chicken wings. These were the "piece de resistance" or whatever they say...the jumbo wings were crispy, fried to golden brown perfection coated in golden nectar of the gods- or Gochujang garlic sauce...whichever you prefer. The sweet sticky savory flavor of these wings were S-tier and hopefully they will be resurrected soon at a different restaurant location because I could eat these wings more often than I should. Chingu has had its funeral but, that doesn't mean the flavors won't live on in people's memories and hopefully, it will have its rebirth into something fresh and new, on another plate in another place sometime soon.
