If you like Thai food (and even if you're not sure if you do) do not miss this place. We've had Thai food all over the US and the UK and this may be the best I've had. These folks have recycled an old fast food place - outside is still a bit rough but if you let that deter you you're going to miss some fabulous food. Inside is very nicely done, cozy and quiet. Staff is very friendly and attentive but not at all annoying. We felt very at home. Everything came quick and hot. When Thai Orchid says crispy duck it's really crispy - best I've had since London. They also deliver spice - real spice - it's optional but you can go "Thai native" with the heat here. Good Thai food isn't there without the veggies being done right - we had Bangkok Crispy Duck and Chicken Red Curry. 15 different vegetables all perfectly fresh and al dente - no mushy "Chinese buffet" happening here. We're talking flawless Thai veg preparation. The flavors of these dishes hung together so well. After mining the crispy crispy duck out the mix the vegetables with sauce were like a second entree and I'm no vegetarian. Add a generous cold Thai Iced Tea or hot tea in cool flavors (mint chocolate, lychee, Thai orchid, lemongrass), and you're good to go. They also have a complete separate sushi menu - didn't try it but if it's up to the standards of the Thai food there it might be a great place to go straight sushi. They also have a big beer and wine selection. Yes it's Orangeburg. Yes it's an old fast food joint with the drive through still attached. No it's not closed just because it looks like it is. Don't pass by this wonderful little spot. The outside does look a little shady but the inside is another story! Beautifully decorated with awesome finely carved tables, chairs and walk hangings. Most important, the staff were all happy, pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent as was the service! Crispy Duck seasoned to perfection: Thai spicy at its best. Spring rolls, fried and fresh were excellent and soup was delicious! We were just driving thru the area on our way north and feel very lucky to have found this little gem. I work in Orangeburg and eat lunch here regularly. They are a very friendly family owned restaurant. Located in an old converted Burger King; not much to look at outside but nice inside. This is quite a welcome surprise for Orangeburg SC, it is the best restaurant in town other than the Country Club or if you're lucky enough to get to Buck Ridge. My favorites here are Pad See Ewe, Basil Fried Rice and Thai Fried Rice. I travel a lot and enjoy all types of cuisine it is nice to have a decent Thai option in li'l ol' Orangeburg. Recently made a yelp and was searching for a new place to eat, and couldn't help but write a review about this place when I seen the ratings. Came here about a mouth or two ago and decided to order some of their wings. I KID YOU NOT as the women was bringing my wings out, one slid off the plate. Not noticing I could see her from where I was at and looking dead at her!! She then picks the wing up off the floor and STILL PROCEEDS TO BRING THE PLATE TO MY TABLE!!!! And immediately sits it down and says enjoy. I just couldn't even say anything as I was so shocked that it had just happened and she really was going to feed me food she had dropped. Hunger pains began to set in around dinnertime while on a road trip from North Carolina to south Florida. Rather than settle for gas station snacks or one of the few fast food restaurants that flank every highway exit, we found this gem of a restaurant was only a few miles away along our route. It was our lucky day! Walking inside from a chilly, eerily foggy night, we were met by warmth and the coziness of wooden tables and chairs throughout. The service was amazing, from hostess to waitress, and the food was truly outstanding! We ordered tom kha gai (Thai coconut milk soup) as an appetizer, pad Thai with fried tofu, and red curry. The pad Thai noodles were perfectly al dente, and the sauce had the perfect balance of salty and sweet. In fact, we took a little leftover with us in the car and ate it at a rest stop a few hours later! Irresistible. Everything was truly delicious. We were really very impressed, as this restaurant is surely a standout in the area and would be in any area! I'm not a local, but it was apparent that this is one of the best restaurants in town! Found this place while passing through on Rt 26. Its only a few minutes farther than the conveniently placed fast food at the highway and hotels bit worth the trip. From the outside you may pass as it looks like a closed drive thru place from the side. But the food will change all that. My wife and I both agreed it was one of the best Thai dishes we've ever tasted! We ordered the green curry, Pad chicken, House fried rice and the spring rolls. If I could zero stars I would. This place was extremely disappointing so I ordered some wings and rice the chicken was extremely big and under cooked I took them back inside the restaurant immediately without even leaving the parking lot. When I brought the wings back in the manager was extremely rude and off back wasn't trying to solve the problem even after I broke into one of the wings to show her that they were not cooked properly; she seen that the first wing was undercooked and asked me to break into another one and at that point I was extremely annoyed because if the first one was undercooked then I don't care how the other wings are...I was soo bothered to the point where I left the food and did not receive a refund. Please for the love of all that is holy I hope this place stays open. Do not let the old Hardees exterior fool you. Once inside, you will see you are not in your stereotypical Asian restaurant. The tables and chairs are SOLID, hand-carved wood. And the food is better than the expensive Thai restaurants I frequented as a student in Charleston. The food was fresh, well prepared, and professional. The waitress/hostess was available but not overbearing. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to find this diamond in the rough, in -- of all places -- Orangeburg. This place is the real Thai and for Orangeburg a real gem! I come here often and love the drunken noodles as well as the spicy tuna sushi. They will spice up your dish as you like it from no spice to native. I like very spicy food but I cannot eat the Native - just too spicy. So be careful. I usually order "hot" but last week I ordered very hot which they took as native. Won't make that mistake again. The service is very attentive, the food is terrific, the inside decor is great - don't judge this place by the outside - it's an old Hardees but the inside has been transformed. BTW - every time I come here for lunch the crowd gets larger so the word is getting out that this is a gem. read more

The place is in an old fast food building. The inside is totally different. A complete transformation - a nice wood carved tables and chairs, very clean, wall art, etc.. The spring rolls were good, the sweet chilli & peanuts sauce and sesame sauce make all the difference and elevates this rolls above the average ones. A small detail - the spring rolls are cut just like sushi rolls for a convenient dipping and I'm guessing the novelty of it. Krispy duck soup is absolutely the bomb! The super flavorful ducky broth with rice noodles and herbs is just great. Krispy duck breast thinly sliced converts this duck soup into SUPER DUCK EXPLOSION soup. This is the best place to eat in Orangeburg, I've been here for 3 years and i was running out of food options. Yesterday was my first time trying it. I was not disappointed. My girlfriend and I went after hearing about it from a professor and we absolutely fell in love. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was impeccable.
