I LOVE this place. The Tom Ka Kai soup and the Chicken Panang are amazing. My wife likes the Pad Thai. I've probably had Tom Ka Kai and Chicken Panang here 30 times over the years since they opened. I ordered here because it's close to my house normally always go to this place called Thai bites because it's really good I was specifically craving drunken noodles and what I got was not that pretty disappointed. I asked the lady what dishes have drunken noodles and they charge me extra for drunken noodles so I don't know where the miscommunication was but pretty bummed. read more

Once again leaving a 5 star evaluation. The Thai Palace makes the best "Yum Luea" salad I have ever had. The fresh cut salad greens and vegetables are covered with a decent amount of beef slices and covered with the best sauce you will ever have. The Last Visit was Great! So our first visit was a few months ago when we first moved to SC. We were looking for a new Thai "go-to" close by. I came really close to giving it a 4 star review as everything was good almost very good but nothing remarkable. We had the chicken pad thai. The flavors were not quite there and a little bland compared to other Thai places we have visited in other areas. However, on our visit Saturday night, the meal was great and Flavors vibrant! LOCATION & AMBIANCE (Rating 3.5) Tucked away in a strip mall that is not easy to find the Thai Palace is not quite a hole in the wall, but definitely not fine dining. Both times we've been there it's been moderately busy with a good take out business it seems. Most of the seating is on the side and back of the building, so we've found that the waitresses are not very responsive as there is no line of site for them to be able to do their work and keep an eye on your needs as well. SERVICE (Rating 3) They have always been nice, but as mentioned above, great service is practically impossible if the waitresses have no line of site with you as they have allot of counter work to do as well. YELLOW CURRY CHICKEN (Rating 4.5) * First Visit (Rating 3.5) We ordered the Yellow chicken curry which was good. The sauce was heavy, in a good way and flavors were good and it did come with rice. * 10/3/2015 (Rating 4.5) The flavors were vibrant, the spices perfectly balanced as just the right amount of potatoes were added which can defeat the spices very easily. TAM KHA SOUP w CHICKEN (Rating 4.5) * 10/03/2015 Visit (Rating 4.5) Tonight I found the Tam KHA soup to be excellent. The balance of sweet and spicy was superb and the soup consistency was just right. The quality of some of the cabbage used was not up to par and the chicken was just a little over cooked which happens so easily, but I'd order this again in a minute. Much better tonight than the first visit. * First Visit (Rating 3.75) We had the Tam Kar soup with chicken as well, which was also good. Not quite as sweet as some others I've had, but very good. All of the chicken in every dish was over cooked which can happen in these types of dishes very easily. I think we'll give it another shot and revisit this rating. CHICKEN PHAD THAI (Rating 4.25) The chicken phad thai is wonderful. They use the red noodles and it's consistency and spices used are nicely done. This dish is not spicy and to be honest it needs a little more heat, so plan on adding that. read more

I really, really wanted to like this place, because I love thai food, and it's very close to where I work. I ordered tom ka gai, and chicken pad Thai. The tom ka gai was really good, it had a decent amount of veggies (carrots, mushrooms and cabbage) and chicken. The broth was a bit thicker than what I've had at other places, which was nice. I'd order it again. The unfortunate part of my lunch was the pad Thai. The person who took my phone order didn't ask me what spice level I wanted - something I realized after I was driving back to my office, takeout in hand. It was so spicy that I couldn't even eat it. I typically order my Thai food at a medium, so spicy is something that I can handle. However, this dish was honestly inedible. It went in the trash. Perhaps things would be different if it was made at my preferred spice level, but unfortunately I can't testify to that. I also had a Thai tea, which was very standard to other Thai teas. :) I probably won't be back, I'll venture to other nearby restaurants. read more

This place has become a favorite of our office. We all agree that the food is tasty, well priced and served in large portions. I've had a few of the noodle dishes and the pineapple curry and have liked them all. Try the Ching Chang Thong wontons. They're awesome! I ordered yellow curry w/ chicken. The curry was good, BUT the Chicken was Nasty. It tasted gross and my stomach was NOT happy after I ate it. It made me sick. The chicken just had a weird taste. I only had a few pieces, but enough to make me sick. Beware. If you order chicken and it has a weird taste, don't eat it. Ugh! So annoying. Today is Sunday 3/22/20. SOLID Thai food spot. It's a little out of the way if you're looking for something close to the beach but well worth the drive. The pad Thai is really good and keeps me going back for more. Sometimes the chicken is a little dry but always good flavor. Their curries are also very good and a good spice level. There are a few good Thai restaurants in town so it's hard to go wrong but Thai Palace is always a win. read more

While the food is generally good, the lack of consistency, constantly incorrect orders, orders which have been overcooked/burnt is far too often. What is most upsetting is we have constantly received completely incorrect orders. I always prefer to support local, family owned businesses. Not only is the food authentic and delicious but the owner's son genuinely cares about his customers and always makes extra effort to ensure they leave happy. Quality is consistent. My staple go to order: chicken satay (you can tell they use quality chicken), pad kee mao (tofu protein option), and the best mango coconut sticky rice I've had! Their mangoes are always perfectly ripe I don't know how they do it. I order these 3 items at every Thai restaurant I try and can honestly vouch for Thai Palace as San Clemente's best. read more

We love ordering lunch from here. Great prices, and the food is delicious. We usually phone in our order for pick up, and they don't ask what kind of spice you'd like but it's usually just enough.
