1st time there. Prices were good and the food was tasty. I had the Pad Kee Maw at a spicy-level of 2 (1-4 scale) and it was pretty potent even though normally I like a kick to my food. My husband's Panang Curry was also very good, and significantly milder even though he also asked for 2. We'll be back there again. read more

Ordered Delivery. Got Yellow Curry Chicken Satay Spring Roll (Fresh Roll) Tom Yong Goong Soup. The Good. The delivery was fast and the delivery guy was a nice guy. The guy answering the phone for the delivery order was really nice too. He joked on the phone, which is really cool. I REALLY wanted to like this place's food. The thing is, I'll deal with difficult order takers and even spotty service if it means good food.... see my other reviews.... The bad : The $2 surcharge for the soup even though the menu on the website lists shrimp as an ingredient. The soup comes with shrimp. Stop with the bait and switch. (This isn't the only thai place that does this silly tactic".) The horribly tough beef in the yellow curry (another $1 surcharge) The old and cold rice that came with it that looked and tasted like it had been scraped out of the bottom of a cold rice maker. The hair found in the spring roll. The surcharge $2 shrimp was over cooked and had a funky flavor that made eating left-overs for lunch not worth the risk. The chicken satay was on the greasy side and the yellow curry had one note of flavor and lacked the normal full flavor you expect from places like Zenna, Thai Cafe, or even the over-priced Silver Thai. Some of the best Thai food I have ever tasted. Cozy and unpretentious place which suits us just fine. My wife and I went in late on a Saturday evening and enjoyed vegetarian. She had the veggie noodles which were well prepared, and I had the veggie curry which was excellent - some of the best curry I have had. Service was prompt and courteous. We have been eating here for years and love it. No it has not been 100% consistent, and once in a blue moon takeout is not as tasty as it usually is, but we love this place. They have changed cooks periodically and some dishes improve and others suffer but overall it's delicious and it's great value for the money. Every time we go there they cater to our kids and make sure they are happy. The rolls, satay, curries and pad thai are delicious. Our out of town guests have always commented on how good it is. We have lived in Asia and visited Thailand many times and we feel this place is pretty close to being back there. read more

Read the reviews...lots more positive than negative so I ordered some Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Satay...used Eat24...showed up in about 15 minutes to a completely empty restaurant (always scary)...they looked surprised...found my order and whipped it out in about 5 minutes...Pad Thai ordered medium hot were really good...chicken satay not so good...I think they deep fried them...Peanut sauce was a little oily...I doubt I'll drive there again... read more

I originally gave Thai Pan a 4 star rating however I'm docking them a star. Got the Pad Prik Khing with Tofu tonight. The green beans were cooked perfectly but the dish itself was very greasy with an over-abundance of fish sauce. The sauce was just too heavy. I've been going to Thai Pan in Allen for just over 2 years now. I typically order out once a week. The food is usually wonderful. On the rare occasion that it wasn't perfect, I merely called back and the dish was remade to perfection. It's by far my favorite Thai in town and I'd readily recommend it to any one who enjoys authentic Thai cuisine. Also if you like your Thai hot enough to remove paint from the driveway, just ask for it but be warned ordering it "Five Star Spicy" (Which is not on the menu) may make you cry :D read more

Okay, im not sure where to start with this except that I absolutely fell in love with this place! Hubby and I had a double date here with some friends on a Thursday night. The restaurant itself is very quaint (small but not too small). It has a very authentic and homey feel. There was one other table when we walked in and we were greeted immediately by our server Jay. This restaurant is BYOB and we ok full advantage by bringing several bottles of wine and a few stand alone beers. Our server immediately got us all waters and wine glasses. We ordered a few appetizers (wontons, chicken, and egg rolls) all of them were amazing! I got the red curry with vegetables and boy I tell you what, that stuff was the best curry I have ever had! It was a perfect consistency with a slightly creamy finish, and the vegetables just complimented it so well! Hubby and our friends loved their food as well. Fair warning though, two people can easily share a curry, the portion size is hhhuugggee! I woild give the food alone 5 stars, but the shining star outside of this was our server. He was super friendly, laughed with us, and was very attentive! He also talked with us for a bit right before we left. Ordered Thai Egg Rolls, with peanut sauce instead of the sweet and sour it comes with. Very tasty and a reasonable amount for $5. Also ordered the Thai Pan Curry, it was delicious asked them to make it mild on the spices. It came out perfect for my little affection for spice. The Pad Kee Mow was just spicy enough with a great meaty flavor. Enjoyed these plates with a Thai Tea, which was actually tastier than other I have had before. It was not to heavy on the sweetness, which I liked. It didn't feel like I was drinking a cup of syrup. Service was good, and helpful for new guests. Not sure what the normal wait time is, if any. Because it was the night the entire city was covered in ice. There was one other couple that dined next to us, they mentioned they had eaten there before and enjoyed it. My husband and I ate here awhile ago, but it has really stuck with us because of their excellent food and service. I'm not big on Thai food, but I will definitely be going back here. Went here for the first time yesterday. So glad we did! Excellent food, great service and loved it. All employees were so nice and curteous. We've been to plenty of thai places where the servers, etc just kinda give you the food and hardly pay attention. Or they do the minimum work and that's it. They have some of the best food we've had. First time portion and taste was alright , we came back the 2nd time to see if consistency was okay but was disappointed . Taste and portion was lacking this time. In a while we saw several employees with bags walked in . It looks like they did some shopping for supplies. They must have had a sustitute for cook. That explains the difference . The third time we tried, the waitress is new again . Different waitress on three times , this time waitress was an angry one , confronting us regarding ordering One can of coke that we want to share. I have diabetes and don't drink much soda. Arguing and very combative attitude. We just left never to come back. I wonder if management knows that this waitress attitude is driving customers away. read more

This place really is hit or miss. Been there a couple times since it's so close to my house. The first time it was alright, decided to give it another try, the second time was way better. Today when I had it again, and it was definitely a "miss". We ordered spicy basil fried rice, it was way way way too greasy and it wasn't spicy at all. I had to check the receipt a couple times to make sure it really was spicy basil fried rice. Very disappointing. Corn patties was a waste of money as well, I expected it to be crunchy but instead it was hard on the outside and room temperature on the inside. It feels like they made it a long time ago and either re-fried it or microwaved it to make it warm. I usually don't care for appetizer but I always loved corn so I decided to try it. Never again. My dad had curry fried rice and he didn't even finish it, way too greasy. It's just gross. My husband had the beef salad and he liked it though. I am not sure if I want to go back to this place though, maybe later! read more

Love this place for their Panang Curry - Madly Hot. Coconut soup when they have it for the lunch special is also excellent. Have both several times a year. Visited this week and the next day my credit card was hit in another part of the US for a manual entry and this was the last place it was used with little activity before that. This was a disappointing experience to say the least. I picked up pad kee mow with no tomatoes. I have ordered pad kee mow many times at multiple different Thai places. Imagine my surprise when I open the box to see a completely different mix of veggies than listed on their menu. No carrots, green peppers instead of the usual red, baby corn, one piece of broccoli, and mushrooms. I closed the box and looked at my husbands because I didn't think it was what I had ordered. He quickly let me know that was my dish and not his. I called the restaurant to ask what they had given me instead thinking it was an order mistake. When I called the nice lady who answered let me know they gave me baby corn because I said no tomatoes. I am still not sure why there weren't any carrots, why there were green peppers, why there were mushrooms and why there was broccoli. Regardless of what was in there that wasn't expected nor wanted the flavor of the dish was good. The noodles were extremely greasy though. The lady was nice and offered for me to come back and she would change the order. I politely declined and won't be back. read more
