Until today this restaurant used to be our go to place when we were in the area. After today we will no longer visit this location. We arrived as a party of 6 to a restaurant that was maybe at 30% capacity. The majority of the tables were empty and clean. However the two larger tables were occupied. As such we were told that we would have to wait until they left in order to be seated. We noticed that they had 4 tables that were 4tops and could easily be slid together for our group. Upon asking they outright refused and stated "we might get other customers that could use them". We asked for the manager and were told that they were cooking food and couldn't speak to us. At this point we were completely floored at the poor treatment by the staff. As such we will take our business elsewhere from now on. This location permanently lost loyal customers. read more

I am flabbergasted at the good reviews. This was some of the worse Thai food I've ever tasted. I'm not from Ohio so idk if the pickings are slim out here but wow...the food has absolutely no spice, no soy sauce, no Thai basil.. absolutely nothing. It tastes like American from Wisconsin who has never ate Thai food made this food. The Thai fried rice was 1 out of 5 stars. The Drunken noodles was 2 out of 5 but was way more soupy and sweet than any other drunken noodle I've ever tasted. YUM!!! The meals are typically under $10 and the portions are pretty big! Regular price for a glass of the white wine I got was about $4 which was such a steal! I got the pad see you and I appreciated that it was not too salty. They had a good balance of noodles, vegetables, and chicken so you were not eating more of one item. My friend got the general tsao's chicken and it was delicious! The chicken was so crispy even in the sauce. The waitress was so quick to get our drinks, orders, and bring out the food. It was during dinner time and we got out of there under an hour! Crazy!! UPDATE: I usually order here for lunch since it's close to my work. Their lunch prices are a steal. You get an entree of choice and a soup or side salad for $7.95 if you get chicken as your meat. Other meat choices may be slightly more expensive, but understandable. My first time there. Waitress brought menu and said prices might be different. Menu said Thai iced tea $2.50 and crab Rangoon $3.50. I ordered both and entree. The sauce for crab Rangoon was nasty and Thai iced tea was too sweet. After having the meal, I had iced tea to go, waitress said becareful putting the lid on the cup. if you push too hard it will break. (Why do they have such cheap cups that break so easily). When the check came it said iced tea $4 and crab Rangoon $4.50. It automatically added gratudy and again asked for additional tip. This is a mediocre restaurant. I understand nowadays all businesses want to survive but charging 20 to 30 % extra on food and beverage without sharing the exact price of the item is like ripping off the customer. Oh my! Fantastic prices and fantastic food. Service was right on too. We had spring rolls and steamed dumplings. Then split a meal of Red Thai Curry Combo. It had shrimp,chicken and beef. Nice fragrant spice. Came with rice. We added extra rice since we were sharing. Was perfect amount for two but only thing is, it was so good you wish you had leftovers. I rarely go to Pickerington, but had a hair appointment there. Of course I'm going to take advantage of restaurants I've never tried! I called in my order and it was ready in 25 mins like they said. There was a line out of the door for pickup orders. It appeared as though they aren't offering dine in right now. The food: this was some of the best Asian restaurants I've tried in Cbus! Really good quality ingredients and extremely well balanced flavors. Hunan shrimp has about 10 shrimp and lots of carrots, but they skimped on the broccoli. Tails were still on the shrimp, and that was fine with me. They were cooked perfectly so the tail pinched right off. It is spicy. My nose was watering for sure. Met Mike G. for lunch here. Out of the way for both of us, but we had some spare time. If it was closer, I'd be here a lot- there are a ton of things on the menu I wanted to try. Thai stuff I'd had before, Thai that was new to me, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese. Clearly focused on Thai, and I love that so I gravitated toward those items, but still had a hard time making up my mind. We started with soups (came with the entree.) My egg drop was great. Comfort food for me, and a good version: thick broth, lots of egg, subtle flavors. I then had the garlic pepper spicy calamari app, partly because everyone raved about it and partly because once I saw some pictures, I had to try it. I've never seen spicy calamari, or any with greens added, or even any sauce. This had all three, and the spice was zippy but not overpowering. The crunchy batter held up to the light sauce, and the peppers, green onions, and bok choy added some nice contrast to the calamari. Excellent, and huge- it could be an entree. Almost stuffed, I made it to my pad woon sen, picked almost at random from a short list of a dozen or so things I wanted to try. Thin bean noodles, veggies, and tender beef (your pick of proteins.) Subtle flavors, very good, but I added a little pepper paste. (Mike asked for some hot sauce, and they brought a tray of flakes, oil, and paste.) Another large portion, and I took half home. I tried his pad ka pow (minced chicken and veggies) and chicken dumplings, and both were great. Service was excellent, start to finish. Friendly, relaxing, there when you need them but not intrusive. The decor is very nice, classy without being stuffy, plenty of light up front but with more secluded spots in back. A great experience start to finish. Did the good company make it more enjoyable? Was I overcompensating because I hadn't been out of the house for awhile? I don't think so- it was great, I had zero complaints, and I'd go back again in a heartbeat. read more

I'll tell you what, this is my second five star review of a Thai restaurant and it's well deserved! We were immediately greeted by the hostess and seated within seconds. These days I am looking for cleanliness in all places and I was definitely impressed here. The entrance, table, bar, restroom, and silverware were all spotless. The food: I have had hot and sour soup in just about 200 different restaurants around the world and this one is near the top of the list! It had an excellent bite and super smooth finish. They even brought our some fried wonton to put into the soup for a nice crunch! The menu was only two pages of paper and pretty short. This definitely helped with the deselection process and shows you that they can focus on the food and not the huge menu like you see at other restaurants of this type. My chicken was cooked perfectly and the veggies were super fresh. If you love ginger like I do then you need to try this chicken! My buddy ended up getting the garlic chicken and if you are looking to avoid some vampires then this is the dish for you! Yowza! read more

Entrees: Pad see yew combo was del ious but could have been a tiny bit spicier we had asked for a 4/5 spicy tasted like 0/5 spice. Crab fried rice was awesome and the white rice was moist. Met a friend for lunch today here and ate a delicious meal. I ordered a Thai pork dish called Pad Ka Paw. It had red peppers and fresh green beans with a spicy brown sauce. It came with rice and I had brown. Lunch includes a soup or salad and I went with won ton. Soup served steaming hot, just how I like it! Wow. Warning people they say they close at 9pm but if you try to get a seat at 8:30pm they will turn you away since they close at 9pm. The front service desk was horrible and rude. My husband and I drove 30 minutes to eat here and got turned away due to the fact that they had to clean and didn't want to stay late. We will never be back and I strongly warn anyone to dine here due to how frequently they change the rules and decide when and what works for them. read more

Do you ever find yourself in a Chinese food rut? Well maybe it's time to get yourself some Thai food for a change of pace. Once a rare find, there are now several good Thai restaurants around town and most are worth the effort to get to them. Now don't be fooled by Thai Paradise's strip mall location as it's got a nice balance between nice and casual. The food is excellent and the service is warm and inviting. Their menu is full of classic Thai dishes, American Chinese and Korean with one lonely Vietnamese dish, Pho. I've had three of their Thai entrees so far with my favorite being Thailand's classic dish, Pad Thai. The soft yet firm rice noodles with plenty of vegetables and those aromatic sweet and pungent aromas make this dish pop. If you are looking for something similar to Pad Thai but still a little different, try a dish of Pad Woon Sen which has the alluring texture of those wonderful glass noodles or Pad Lao which is the sweeter Laotian version of Pad Thai. Need another idea? Their Himmapad Chicken was also very good with wok fried fresh crunchy vegetables and lightly breaded white chicken in a light garlicky - gingery brown sauce. There's a lot of interesting items on their menu and so far, I haven't been disappointed. The food quality is high and it's at a reasonable price. It's a solid 4+ star restaurant. I just wish I'd listened to Gwen W.'s recommendation and tried them a little earlier. And You Know I Like My Addendums: Garlic and Pepper Calamari - Wonderful! Great crunch and flavor. Get the sweet or the hot sauce on the side. Hot and Sour Soup - A little sweet but it grew on me. Egg Drop Soup - Good, but then again, it's pretty standard. Tom Yum Soup - Serves 2. Wonderful lemongrass flavor and full of good vegetables. Chicken Dumplings - Steamed or Fried. Get them steamed as the fried style is rather dry. If you're not sure about the heat level, just order it a little more mild and ask for their condiment plate of hot sauces. read more

I just ordered take out for my family. We got the general Tso's chicken with fried rice, sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, and orange chicken with plain lo mein. We all agree that this is the absolute worst meal. The chicken is all so dry we can't even chew and swallow it. The plain lo mein was just a bunch of noodles with no sauce. And the quantities are a fraction of what you get when you eat at the restaurant. I will NEVER order carry out from here again. And I hesitate to return here at all. 2nd visit as my daughter really enjoys their pho. I did tell myself I will try other things for when we returned. Again, the owner greeted us and we were seated right away. There were soo many delicious options but I'm willing to try something different each time I return. I was recommended by a coworker to try their garlic calamari. OH EM GEE, did not disappoint. It was sautéed with some sauce, had garlic, jalepeno, Thai basil and green onions? I was also told to try their cranberry Thai tea and my husband got the Thai tea lemonade. Interesting combo but very refreshing! I ordered their Naum Toak which is like sliced beef tossed in toasted rice powder, crushed Thai chili, red onions, maybe fish sauce? Lime and sugar? I'm sure there's more! The beef was tender and held onto the ingredients well, the veggies that came with it, was fresh! My husband got the red curry with fried rice, every time we go to Thai restaurants and he the curries are his go tos. We had our same waiter Aden? He was courteous and attentive. When it came time to pay, they added a military discount for us for which my husband was in awe since he is a veteran himself. (We normally don't ask for military discount) but he felt appreciated!! If I could give a 0 I would. I am new to this area and I love Chines take out. My daughter purchased my order and I saw that this was a Thai restaurant instead of a a Chinese one. I can tell. The rice was dry and stuck to the bottom of the carton; the beef was very tough so tough I cold not eat it the way it was cut. (I gave it to my dog) The veggies were good and flavorful but I order BEEF with broccoli. If I could have driven,I would have returned the order with a full refund. I will not be back. So bummed. I've been to Thai Paradise several times, and believe their food is good. I live in Gahanna and am willing to go over to Pickerington, just for good Thai. A month ago, I wanted to order some carry out, so I tried to pull up their website to look at the menu. I got a error message. My wife called and was able to order what I wanted, which was a coconut curry with chicken, green peppers, carrots and onions, and steamed rice. Oh, and medium heat level. When I picked up our food, I said their website wasn't working, and asked for a menu to take home. The women told me I could just take a picture of their dine-in menu. Ah, no thanks. Today, I ordered coconut curry with chicken (medium heat) and the young man told me twenty minutes. It took me twenty minutes just to drive from Gahanna to Pickerington, so great. When I got there, let me just tell you, they weren't busy. I ordered around 4:30, just to beat the Saturday dinner rush. I ended up waiting twenty more minutes. Why? The place was not quite dead, but definitely not busy. Did they forget to put my order in? I know the world is short staffed, and they did have a Help Wanted sign in the window, but I was one guy, ordering one thing. Forty minutes of wait time? Nope. Gonna try a different place next time. I always get this peanut chicken on the Thai side of the menu, and I really enjoy it! I love their spring rolls they are nice and crispy, their crab rangoon is 50/50 it's nice and crispy, but it's not traditional I think they put cheese in it to be honest you either love it or hate it. I've never eaten in the restaurant so I can't speak for the dine in experience, but the waiting area is always clean. The younger staff has worked there for a while, they are friendly and helpful. I know this place has trying to hire a new person for take out so I can't say I've had the greatest experience with the new staff not very patient, but I won't knock them for not knowing the menu since they're still learning. All in all it's I would recommend, it's a good family owned restaurant that you can eat at or do take out.
