This is rumoured to be -- and probably is -- the best Thai restaurant north of Boston. The owner Manny and his wife serve generous portions of all the typical Thai favourites - I must have had each by now at least twice - as well as some dishes that I can't find even in Boston. If you're hung up on ambiance and décor, go to the big cities (and pay through the nose). But if you're anywhere near Windham and want the best pad thai, curry, seafood salad, dumplings, spring rolls, satay and just about any other Thai-inflected dish you can think of, this is hands-down the place to go. They have really good Thai food! I went to school with the owners son! I love their pad Thai but sometimes feel like the noodles are a little mushy and a tad bit pricey but overall great place! I just wish they didn't use styrofoam for everything because it isn't recyclable. read more

I treated myself to Thai food on the way to work tonight. I arrived at 8:10 PM and the place closes at 9 PM. I ordered Pad Thai which I have had in many restaurants. The noodles were slightly undercooked and I could not cut the chicken with the plastic knife I was provided with as it was extremely tough. This is the first time at any restaurant that I have ever thrown away half of my Pad Thai. The worst part was the fact that at 8:40 the owner went around and closed all the blinds and turned off the open sign and told me they were trying to close so that I had to hurry up and finish and pay. read more

We finally tried Thai Place and were pleasantly surprised at the quality or the food! The fresh spring rolls and chicken satay were fresh and delicious. We got chicken pad thai, drunken noodles, and orange chicken were all excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for Thai food in the Windham area. I don't know what on earth these reviewers are thinking by giving it more than 1 star. I wasn't expecting too much being in N Windham, however, I was so sadly disappointed with the quality of the food and the way it was presented. First, when you dine IN a restaurant, you don't expect to eat off of styrofoam plates with plastic utensils. Also, when the food arrives at your table, it shouldn't be in TAKE HOME containers that you have to open to put on your styrofoam plates. The taste of the different dishes was very average and the fresh spring rolls were the tiniest I've ever seen. Two of them were the size of one at most places. I love Thai food and have eaten at many different Thai restaurants and was extremely underwhelmed. Four of us came in for lunch and got 2 orders of spring rolls, 1 order of chicken satay and 4 lunches. The bill came to $61! The staff were pleasant but that just couldn't make up for everything else. read more

I stopped here for lunch with the hopes to enjoy a Pad Thai, and an appetizer. The appetizers were priced the same as the lunches, and the menu was minimal. The food was okay, but the service and the 'plating' was below standard. I was served my food all in 'to-go' containers, even though I sat in a booth. The older man that served, tossed the food o the table and didn't make any eye contact and walked away. I was the ONLY customer in the restaurant. I ordered a diet Pepsi and it was given to me in the bottle. Frankly, I was not at all satisfied with the service, the atmosphere and the cheap-ass plastic-ware, styrofoam bowl, all very low class service for the money. I might have had an entirely different experience and enjoyed the food if it felt like a real restaurant rather than a fast-food low-level place to eat. read more

I have been meaning to try this place recently, but haven't gotten around to it until today. At first I was a little hesitant when I asked "what is in your veggie fried rice," and got the response "mixed veggies". Took it home, and all my hesitations disappeared. It is second to none (the only other place I can find that even compares to is in Prescott, AZ). The food was hot (temperature-wise), and you can order it on a scale of 1-4 for spiciness (for all those who are hesitant to try Thai food in Maine). The egg rolls were very good as well. My husband and I came here a few months ago when we first moved to Windham. We both love Thai food and were excited to see a place like this locally. We decided to eat in, but quickly realized that this restaurant caters mostly to take-out customers. Our food came out in takeout containers with plastic silverware, which was a turn off as we weren't expecting it, but we were still looking forward to giving the food a try. I ordered the pad thai with tofu and my husband had the orange chicken. After taking his first bite of the orange chicken, we noticed that the meat was gray. He cut the rest of the pieces open to see if it was just a fluke but they were all the same. It also had a foul taste. The tofu in my pad thai tasted like it was cooked in oil that hadn't been changed in a long time. At that point, we both stopped eating, got our bill, and left. The owners seem to be very nice but we won't be going back to this restaurant out of fear of getting food poisoning. read more

We have a lake house in Waterboro but decided to take a scenic drive around Sebago. We were getting hungry and passed this place, we saw the tagline, 'best thai food in town'. We laughed and wondered if there were other local thai places but decided to give it a try. Yes, the place is dated, and yes, they serve you in take out containers and styrofoam plates (the only reason for 4 not 5 stars). But if we were less hungry we would have needed the take out containers. Instead we ate it all! My husband had the Pad Graprow (asked for 3 hot) and I had the Ginger Delight (mild), both with chicken. The chicken was white meat, tender not chewy, no fat nor veins. The veggies were fresh and tasty. We will be making the drive just to come back again! read more
